Good question Larry, as someone who is a designer and has gone through a lot with the NHL lol but I learned from it. 1) You need to obtain a NHL license through the league directly. The people selling off these sites are selling illegal property. 2) They are selling their products and getting away with it because they haven't got caught yet. Good on them, bad on the league and if they keep doing it and don't get caught then the league will sue the platform for copyright as a whole for not taking care of it. 3) If you want to sell your own magnets your better off selling it as a service and not as a direct listing of the teams. You can do some generic ideas, but again it's a touchy situation where you may get caught. I would love to know more too myself. I tried selling custom designed logos for jerseys and was told by my trademark attorney it could potentially cause confusion with the teams that I wanted to do. You could do something where it's the city name or team name and add like a element of the team or maybe something that is a custom idea. For example Blackhawks you add the feathers somewhere or something like that. You have go around and be creative with it.

Yeah, I think if Larry were to sell his printed and assembled logo magnets to let's say friends and others he knows, that is fine. But if he were to try selling products he made with the trademarked logos for public retail, then definitely he would be facing that copyright violation.

I can't imagine the NHL would give anyone an outside license to do that but it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to try it but I surely wouldn't wanna get nailed for copyright anything bur I have seen the descriptions they sell the stuff they don't actually describe it as related to the NHL other than just the logos

That's the biggest thing that would worry me is the copyright issues which is why I hadn't actually tried to sell them as either stickers or logos and making them up is alot of fun to do

@@LHOH197 I think as long as you do not put anything up for sale on a widely public web site, you should be safe. If you told your viewers to simply contact you if they want to buy some printed out logo magnets, I don't think you really have anything to worry about.

@@NHLCrazy2007 That doesn't matter to some degree. Any sales and profit made from a logo that belongs to someone else is still copyright. If it's a service then that maybe a different story. If your selling them premade then it maybe copyright. It's a tough situation.

I work in this industry. Licensing is something that you do NOT want to be involved with. Sorry to disappoint.

That as cool it'd be to sell them to people who'd want them the threat of getting nailed for copyright just doesn't make it worth trying now the magnet I made of my channel logo those I definitely would sell in sticker form magnet form or on cups t shirts hoodies or whatever I'd definitely do if people would want that if I set up a shop through the channel and wherever else
