what I noticed is his hand was moving faster on the iPhone when he launched the cameras when I watched it again. yet the note 5 closed the camera then launched the next app faster.
Paul Steinberg See the Photo Thumbnails.. Note 5 delayed to store the photo.. That's why he waited... Live Photo is a Feature on iPhone 6S that take 1 second before and after of the photo taken :)..
+Prithiv Palani plz explain r the iPhone video's time is moving faster than the note 5? drive.google.com/file/d/0BzkgZ8IxTa-ta2tPa0x3Zi04SVU/view?usp=docslist_api I don't know what it means but those r screen shots of the video.
The storage speed in the 6s+ is insane. Anandtech found it's using the brand new NVME standard which is nearly double in speed compared to it's nearest competitor the S6. Hats off to you Apple.
Was just about to say it. People just seem so ignorant of this fact. And, yes there is a problem with ram management on note 5. If someone puts a very light rom on the note 5 then it would be a close competition. Though I doubt an average person will do it. And, for it to truly show its 4gb ram, the no. of apps would also have to increase.
+Nicholas Nore true, the other phones and the iPhone 6 only runs around 200 - 250 Mbps where as the iPhone 6s is 400+ Mbps which is really really fast puts it to the spot in last generation desktop class NAND SSDs. :)
HermosaBeachJoe yes I know there are advantages and disadvantages to it. Another disadvantage is that it will void your warranty. But, custom roms are generally lighter and more fluid than stock roms, which will contribute to a faster experience
+TheDarkMaster02 And display doesn't make very much of a difference because the Note 5 destroyed the One Plus Two and it has a full HD display like iphone
+RazorTheMann You're so wrong. it's their RAM management setting. Changing the build.prop line in the Note 5 will resolve that default memory management issue, which means it's not Touchwiz
+jonjoe89 I'd rather have a phone that is almost as fast as the note 5 and that can actually manage RAM properly so that my apps aren't closing as soon as I leave it
+Rich Homie Tom You guys complained it(the RAM management issue)for a long time since the Note 5 started selling for 2-3 days.Until now,the software or bug fixes hasn't been push out yet.lel :P
Michael Anthony de Jun samsung hasn't fixed it themselves but developers and other tech geeks found a way to fix the issue deep into the settings of the phone, I haven't tried it cuz I haven't experienced any ram issues on my note 5
Software and App optimization are far more important than some companies think. Samsung doesn't have as much control over Android as apple does over IOS. Now if the iPhone beats the new nexus, then Android is the problem.
+Bruno Techera Watch this /watch?v=F1V7gr_9Zec All you need is to change a value in build.prop file. If you don't know what you are talking about, don't say anything since it's not "optimization" ,it is a choice they made that people do not like
+Sheila Broflovski Again you misunderstand everything. It's not about "laziness" to fix it ,if they wanted it to be fixed it would have been. Because actually ,it is a CHOICE they made to kill tasks to free up memory and cpu usage. YES the choice is not good for everyone they should have kept it as a feature in developper option without Root
John Cena my moto g with 1gb ram holds 15 apps like nothing. My nexus 5 holds all my apps like it is nothing. I'm not even talking about my nexus 6 which holds everything I do and still has 1gb ram left. Again. Note 5 is a disgrace.
John Cena sigh...media media media...does anyone still believe it? You do? What? Nice...like I said, wake up. People keep hailing the iPhone, when it's total utter crap not worth the 900$ price tag for 16gb...and people will still say its the best! Lol you're so goddamn dumb mate. I'm saying 2 year old phones simply running stock android kill samsung phones in multitasking
Great as always David. One thing though. Samsung (or Android) multitasking is in the multitask button at the bottom of the phone. This feature holds all the apps in the background. Try it. Many users of Android use this feature over just opening and closing apps since it's faster and more convenient. So the 4gb is actually being put to use. If you did the test again but with both using the multitask option then Samsung would win.
No lol, Look at Phonebuff's speed test on Note 4 Vs Nexus 6 Vs Iphone 6 plus and nexus 6 lost cause it's a slow device however the ram management was good and caught up in the second lap so nexus devices aren't the fastest
***** The only reason the Nexus device lost was due to the hardware encryption, which is a secure way to keep data safe, something the Note 4 and the iPhone 6 doesn't have. But this year's Nexus devices will have a much faster encryption that is software based instead of hardware based.
IEWestSide you realise I never mentioned the iPhone I'm disappointed in the note not an iPhone fan boy. Hopefully the v20 and the new Nexus's are speed demon's
+Rich Homie Tom yeah I saw it on a previous video here, but if the note 5 had stock Android plus marquee features, then it would be the perfect phone. I'm not sure anything could top that
4 GB of RAM and it still can't keep those apps open in the background! As an owner of a GS6, I can attest that this is hugely annoying in daily use and just another reason why I may never buy another Samsung device again. I am desperately hoping that this issue is resolved with an upcoming update to Marshmallow.
Samsung exinos 7420 is the fastest processor,But Ram issue always reduce it's power. And also,My problem with iphone 6s is not it's fast enough .The problem is 16GB useless storage option.(don't tell me to buy 64GB one,it's ridiculously overpriced with extra 100$)
***** Nobody??Seriously? And why do you think Apple kept 16GB version? They kept it to force us to have a 64 or 128GB one.Because in our mind we think.for 100 bucks we get 48GB extra storage!!!WOW!!!This is the mind game which played by Apple since beginning

It's funny how Apple fans come here and think that Android = TouchWiz. :'D TouchWiz has awful RAM management, of course it will lose against any flagship phone.

SAA I wouldn't know, I'm not a Samsung or an iPhone fan. :) But you can watch any comparison between a Nexus and an iPhone to see which performs better, if you wish. :)
Not to mention that even with touchwiz and a qhd resolution, it's only two seconds behind. But don't think that the note 5 has bad RAM management because android, it's samsung's fault for using their shitty software skin. Watch the g4 vs oneplus 2 vs note 5 speed test and you'll know what I'm talking about.
MrMRforever reports say that the battery life is just slightly better than the 6 plus and on par of the note. But I was talking about how the note 4 would lose so much battery with the screen off due to using too much ram
not an Android fanboy here (I've used both Android and iOS in the past) but when loaded with stock Android I can keep my apps open in background, then my note handles it a lot faster than the 6s (~ 5 sec) for real-world apps
This comparison is subjective. Please compare processor performance and multi-tasking devices. It's understandable that the game optimized for iOS Note5, will slowly open. This type of comparison is an admission of failure iPhone.
"Note 5 is slower because of its higher resolution display and it has to push much more pixels" Seriously I hate this kind of excuses. I mean come on man, THAT'S WHAT THE 8 CORES FOR!
The pixels are largely irrelevant and would make a marginal difference at best. Both of them have the same internal storage technology, so they have the same read and write speeds, which is why iPhones tend to load things faster.
I got 40 seconds the first lap on my note 5, and 1 minute on the second lap (everything stayed in memory). But I am running a custom ROM and kernel, didn't think it was gonna make that much of a difference but damn.
Nice optimization on the 6S let's see what it can do against the Nexus 6P
9 лет назад+1
What's the point of having 4GB of RAM when the CPU has to reload every single App you had running in the background ? No real multitasking on TouchWiz ?
I don't understand why there is such unnecessary hatred against the iPhones. If Galaxy Note 5 had won this test, I'm pretty sure people would have immediately started their hate rant towards Apple. Now that the iPhone 6s Plus won this test, people are defending the Note 5 by saying it has shitty ram management issues which I definitely accept it has. But don't forget that the iPhone had faster app load times as well. Why don't we just appreciate a good product irrespective of who is the maker. And before you start hating me as well after reading this, no I'm not an Apple fan boy.
could try a stock android rom on the s6 or the note ? i mean like you said the specs are crazy so we might want to see the bone stock android as google wanted it on those beefy specs
Nexus 5 or Nexus 6 with android M might dethrone it... But 5x and 6p hopefully will dust the 6s plus... It's just me though... Cause I don't like Apple winning.. Because of how they present themselves... Oh btw, great video as always David!
At least the Note 5 did not get lapped like the note 7. Kind of states that Samsung needs to put Exynos on all their phones. The iPhone will probably still beat the Note 7 with the exynos, but atleast they will be close to each other. My s7 edge has been crap lately, especially navigation, the phone will become the slowest phone in the world after a 15-20 minute navigation. My Note 5 never did that.
This test is a lot easier than the one they're running today, so there isn't much time for either phone to really separate itself. And yeah, the snapdragon 820 optimization in Samsung's phones is a joke. Pretty much all other phones running S820 (HTC 10, OnePlus 3, LG G5) perform much better than the S820 version of the galaxy s7/note 7. Added on to the fact that the A9 is simply just faster than the S820 (geekbench4 results confirm this) there's no chance for the S820 version of the Note 7 or the Galaxy S7. (Search up Anandtech's reviews, and look at how long it takes to just launch an app on the S820 version of the Note 7.) The Exynos is much better optimized for Samsung's devices obviously, but still can't quite achieve the level of performance and RAM management that Apple has. It'll be interesting to see how much the Exynos Note 7 can improve on the Snapdragon one.
This just means that Android fans (myself included) will need to wait for Meizu Pro 5 to come out ... I think this phone is what Note 5 ought to be - fast, sleek and with a reasonable price (429 USD - for advanced version). Btw, my problem with this comparison is that both of these phones are damn expensive - and in Samsung's case, you don't get the proper bang for the buck. Having experience with both Galaxy S3 and S5, all I can say is that Samsung is far too much overpriced meanwhile suffering from lack of basic functionality mixed with annoying glitches here and there. On the other hand, even though it's blazing fast, I personally would never spend 950 USD for an Iphone 6S Plus - a phone lacking ordinary compatibility, having a short battery life, little more than average camera etc. It's just not my cup of tea. I think it's time for some new kids on the block ... I had high hopes with Oneplus but they blew it with Oneplus 2 ...
i read in an article that it depends in which country ur in. the note 5 in the US with that carrier system slows it down . here in india its not so complicated
You have to consider that the note 5 have higher resolution data to load than the iPhone 6S Plus. To make this test more balance you should do a test using same application to do some processing project like using a Fyuse app on both to edit and upload a video or photo.
with the snapdragon 810 being the bastard child of quolcomm this year and samsung still failing at optimisation, I don't see a phone beating apple's 6S this year. maybe the 820 will make the difference next year.
When closing the amazon full website, you didn't wait for it load fully on iPhone 6s {look for the 'x' in the right of the address bar}, whereas you did waited for it to load entirely on Note 5. Otherwise, they performed equally well.
Not that surprised. I'm not quite sure, but it was either the Note 5 or the Galaxy S6 (Edge) which had really weird RAM management, already closing and having to reload things with about 6 or 7 apps open. I did a test with my phone (Xperia Z2) and it could handle 20+ apps open before things started reloading. Although Touchwiz has improved, it's still one of my least favorite Android skins.
+bills dee Can you give a proof of this? Because on any other android phone(including touchwiz) if the app is open in the background and you open it again from the launcher, it will not reload it. It will resume it from where you left it. As I haven't personally used the note 5, I am asking this.
Because the apps reloaded due to poor ram management. If the apps were not being killed it would not reload them. It has been the same for every android device, why will this be different?
always love your videos man. I personally think the only phone that could beat the iPhone 6s Plus would be the upcoming Nexus 6P. Nexus phones have amazing memory management and the 3 GB of RAM is plenty for stock Android. that coupled with the 810 chip we should be in for a good ride.
The problem with the apps having to reopen instead of keeping them on the ram is a software problem... Touchwiz limit this to 3 or 4 apps, and then starts to reopen them. Note with an aosp rom should make it pretty identical to the iphone or even faster...
3 reasons why the iPhone 6S Plus won: 1. iOS 9, its such an efficient software that acts as a catalyst in loading and opening up apps. But this is only due to all the limits in iOS. 2. Apple is using the latest NVME storage technology making it able to open apps faster. 3. It does not use TouchWizz.
Apple is tricking everyone at multitasking. They first show you a screenshot of the app, and afterwards the phone shows the content again. You just need to wait a second or two for this to happen. Because of that, this test is for me, INVALID. It does NOT show the true representation of app-reloading. On the iPhone 6, you guys did the same while app-reloading was heavily apparent on that model ONLY if you wait the 1-2 seconds for the screenshot to disappear...Please fix this or test it yourself and make a video about it with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S line-up.
i knew it would win before i even watched this. i really wish samsung would address that issue, personally i haven't had problems with it but then again i don't click on the app icon to reload, i just click through the recent apps menu, that may affect it but either way its ridiculous, no matter which phone you prefer you have to admit that.
Whats more important to most people is overall experience, Ive been a apple fan for years since the 4 up to 6s plus. the 6 plus i had and 6s plus i just sold i would drop calls more than any other phone I've had. I go state to state for work so i get a broad view. I switch to the note 5 and the issue is very minimal. I think apple is better at some things but honestly i feel smashing has better quality and colors. the camera blows iPhone out of the water. the customization ( i know most don't care) is a lot better to me. I jailbroke an iPhone before because i wanted to customize, but that doesn't work out too well. So in overall performance i would have to give it to the note 5. I just think apple is too plain and generic. Not only that apple is becoming more strict what they allow and don't allow on app store, free music? Cache videos etc are being removed. Plus i hate iTunes. I want to be able to use another software for music movies etc. Just my opinion.
and Did you notice ?? iPhone 6S just took a full "Live Photo" faster than the ordinary photo on Note 5...
Oh shit you're right haha
what r u talking about? ??
what I noticed is his hand was moving faster on the iPhone when he launched the cameras when I watched it again. yet the note 5 closed the camera then launched the next app faster.

HermosaBeachJoe yes I know there are advantages and disadvantages to it. Another disadvantage is that it will void your warranty. But, custom roms are generally lighter and more fluid than stock roms, which will contribute to a faster experience
+Sankalp Gupta This means you must work very hard to get the Note5 up to speed with the iPhone 6S.
Just imagine an iPhone with 8 cores and 4GB of RAM
+Domagoj Matijević Now imagine an iPhone with a quad hd display and such a heavy os.
+TheDarkMaster02 That's the beauty of iOS
+TheDarkMaster02 And display doesn't make very much of a difference because the Note 5 destroyed the One Plus Two and it has a full HD display like iphone
+Domagoj Matijević Yeah software optimization is everything but my point is the iPhone is too late to the high-end spec game.
+TheDarkMaster02 The iPhone definitely has good specs. Have you seen the benchmarks?
You could make the 6s even faster by turning off the animations.
ye
Yes
+Mr Music You could make the note 5 faster by turning off animations too.
How? And can I do that on my moto x pure
Hunter Grimx it's in developer options. It looks better with animations on half speed instead of off though.
Now android fanboys can stop arguing that the iPhone has outdated hardware lol
+Jbizzle 1998 It isnt outdated, its just weaker. Besides iOS is so dumbed down
It does in many other things
+SheepAreEpic this video literally shows that specs dont mean anything tho lol
+Jbizzle 1998 Actually this is sammy's bad ram management fault. Motorolas or nexus would've had all the apps loaded.
+Jbizzle 1998 Yeah Samsung's software is trash. if it were a nexus 6 or something the second lap would've been no problem.
This just goes to show that optimization is everything. Android's baller ass specs that fanboys keeping blabbing about ain't shit with a shitty UI.
exactly what I'm thinking 😊
blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah
it's Samsung's fault. nexus or stock android devices are better. Samsung just puts the high-end specs without optimizing the software.
piyushsohal94 I didnt mean to generalize the whole Android UI my bad.
Samsung put a lot of junk software to make it slow, so you want to have the next galaxy 16 cores 8GB RAM soon
I don't understand what's wrong whit the Samsung's phones multitasking
+MaRcOiRe Touchwiz takes too much RAM, plus all the preloaded apps
+RazorTheMann You're so wrong. it's their RAM management setting. Changing the build.prop line in the Note 5 will resolve that default memory management issue, which means it's not Touchwiz
+blognewb well, when are they gonna solve it?
+IDK BRO it's not touchwiz, all you need to do is to change some build.prop lines, it works like this on my Note 4 too
+Dedo It really works in this way?
TouchWiz gives Android a bad rep...
Tsk tsk tsk Samsung
ikr
And even with ram management issues, it's faster than any other Android at the moment. Tsk, tsk, tsk.
+jonjoe89 I'd rather have a phone that is almost as fast as the note 5 and that can actually manage RAM properly so that my apps aren't closing as soon as I leave it
+bills dee it's called the nexus 6p
+C0okieman2009 Samsung is an insult to Android
Turn off Game Center and it will get even faster when loading games.
I know who needs that anyways
game center? what is it?
turn off animation on note 5 and it will be faster too
james bob still has the ram management problem anyways
+james bob iPhone has animations to though
Unbelievable... 4gb of ram and can't keep couple apps in the background... Smh
it's a tweak on touchwiz, it's easily fixable
+Rich Homie Tom why isn't it fixed then
Jbizzle 1998 idk, ask samsung haha
+Rich Homie Tom You guys complained it(the RAM management issue)for a long time since the Note 5 started selling for 2-3 days.Until now,the software or bug fixes hasn't been push out yet.lel :P

Holy shit, Note 5 got its ass kicked.
Wow..awesome! Waiting to see the phonebuff style speedtest when the Nexus devices ship!
note 5 is a disgrace to android as a whole. crapsung ftw right? I bet the g4, m9, and heck, my nexus 5 2013 would do better

I love phone buff style speed test
Please dont dislike this video just because the 6s won. Thats what close minded people do.
Great video man! Glad to know I made the right choice with the 6S Plus. Just wondering did you come to Australia again for the 6S?

Nope, overall Exsinos win.But A9 wins in single core score.
Wikum Wijesinghe overall the A9 is faster in all apps in this test?
Andrew Marinho
That's because iphone's resolution is low.full-HD vs QHD
there is no competitor for iphone
Best speed tests on RUclips. Period.
A year later and no android phone ever did!
This might be the closed android phone to win iPhone , if wasn't ram management note 5 won this speed test , im very impressive about this note 5 - iPhone 6S Plus user

also the phone buff style speed test are the best. i mean the best speed on youtube

+Bojan Tomic the problem is these are 2 best selling phones. marketing man, it's better than technology.
If I install a laucher over it will it solve that?
Android fans will have an excuse for this....
You really should do more of these. These are like real world scenarios review.
touchwiz need to go . its bs

This comparison is subjective. Please compare processor performance and multi-tasking devices. It's understandable that the game optimized for iOS Note5, will slowly open. This type of comparison is an admission of failure iPhone.
processor performance doesnt mean shit in real life usage dumbass thats the whole point of the video
real life usage? You mean like in real life when someone forgets how to use their phone and reloads the app?
***** when someone usually uses their phone they open apps just like the video
2911oscar so its the phones fault they don't know how to use it
***** yes, its the phone's fault that going to home and changing an app is not the same as going into multitasking
"Note 5 is slower because of its higher resolution display and it has to push much more pixels"
Seriously I hate this kind of excuses. I mean come on man, THAT'S WHAT THE 8 CORES FOR!
I think the smaller 6s would be even faster cuz it has fewer pixels to power
Exactly.
A speed test between iPhone 6s+ and Nexus 6P? THE PHONEBUFF STYLE
If the animations were turned off on the iPhone it would skyrocket ahead of the Note 5.
Nice optimization on the 6S let's see what it can do against the Nexus 6P
What's the point of having 4GB of RAM when the CPU has to reload every single App you had running in the background ? No real multitasking on TouchWiz ?
Please apply ram management fix with root. And then do this i sure 100% that faster animations of note 5 makes him Phonebuff style speed champ.
im actually surprised the note 5 only lost by 2 seconds but samsung really needs to work on their RAM management.
Samsung needs to resolve this issue of RAM management..
The galaxy note needs 8 gb of ram.
iPhone 6s Plus vs Nexus 6P should be an interesting one to watch. Pls add this to your TO DO list :)
That A9 in the 6S/Plus is a BEAST.
2:49 "so, i cant wait to see which phone eventually dethrones the 6S+"
You'll need to wait until next November until Apple launches the iPhone 7.
LOL
Ladies and Gentlemen, all hail TOUCHWIZ and the wonderful Samsung software /s
sent from my SM-920F
could try a stock android rom on the s6 or the note ? i mean like you said the specs are crazy so we might want to see the bone stock android as google wanted it on those beefy specs
it was supported by cyanogenmod for pure android but they cut out the support because its an exynos chip
It'll be interesting to see how much the Exynos Note 7 can improve on the Snapdragon one.
is it bad that I was literally cheering on the note 5? lol
The Note 5 held its own in the first lap. Too bad its RAM management is crappy.
Note 5 needs 32GB ram and 64 cores to beat the iPhone 6s.
Waiting for Nexus 6P vs iPhone 6S plus. That would be an amazing race!
I had high hopes with Oneplus but they blew it with Oneplus 2 ...
i read in an article that it depends in which country ur in. the note 5 in the US with that carrier system slows it down . here in india its not so complicated
note 5 is faster than note 7
Can't wait to see a iPhone 6s Plus vs. Huawei Nexus 6P vs. LG Nexus 5X vs. Samsung Galaxy Note5...
You are a fucking genoius, we want more phone buff style speed tests!!!!!
been waiting for this video! thanks!
hope to see the a9x and x1 and 820 threeway.
You have to consider that the note 5 have higher resolution data to load than the iPhone 6S Plus. To make this test more balance you should do a test using same application to do some processing project like using a Fyuse app on both to edit and upload a video or photo.
What the hell.Note 5 has 4 GB of Ram lmao.
reloading apps, that's touchwiz and lollipop for you. I love my note 5 but this is an issue, 4gb of RAM and this is still a problem...
with the snapdragon 810 being the bastard child of quolcomm this year and samsung still failing at optimisation, I don't see a phone beating apple's 6S this year. maybe the 820 will make the difference next year.
samsung really needs to learn how to manage RAM..
When closing the amazon full website, you didn't wait for it load fully on iPhone 6s {look for the 'x' in the right of the address bar}, whereas you did waited for it to load entirely on Note 5. Otherwise, they performed equally well.
God damn ram management
Killer video, real life speed not specs....I'm an android guy but hats off to Apple they squeeze the power out.
always love your videos man. I personally think the only phone that could beat the iPhone 6s Plus would be the upcoming Nexus 6P. Nexus phones have amazing memory management and the 3 GB of RAM is plenty for stock Android. that coupled with the 810 chip we should be in for a good ride.
what's up with galaxy phones having to reload apps when reopening apps. nexus 6p ftw
note 4 vs note 5 please
show much badly Samsung has ruined their devices
Wow the iPhone has 2gb ram and still beat shamesung which has 4gb of ram
The problem is TouchWiz, it sucks so you have to compare it with the nexus 6p
The problem with the apps having to reopen instead of keeping them on the ram is a software problem... Touchwiz limit this to 3 or 4 apps, and then starts to reopen them. Note with an aosp rom should make it pretty identical to the iphone or even faster...
Jebus Samsung! sort out that memory problem!
Nice one ! Proves the way of Samsung struggling with their so called 4 gigs of ram 😂
Such a shame
3 reasons why the iPhone 6S Plus won:
1. iOS 9, its such an efficient software that acts as a catalyst in loading and opening up apps. But this is only due to all the limits in iOS.
2. Apple is using the latest NVME storage technology making it able to open apps faster.
3. It does not use TouchWizz.
Great video thank you!
Oops, I think we've got a champion...
LMFAO Why does it even have 4 gigs of ram when the phone doesn't even use it sufficient.
great videos man
Regardless of what the display res is, what's relevant is what the device RENDERS the image at. iPhone 6s: 1242 × 2208 Galaxy S6: 1,440 x 2,560
i knew it would win before i even watched this. i really wish samsung would address that issue, personally i haven't had problems with it but then again i don't click on the app icon to reload, i just click through the recent apps menu, that may affect it but either way its ridiculous, no matter which phone you prefer you have to admit that.
