regarding the buzzing on mks servos: there is a programming device from mks (DSP-1), using this device you can adjust the deadband of the servos. This will clear the buzzing. MKS Servos are set to the lowest deadband value on the market (normaly wanted because they are very exact and fast), most of the "older" powerboxes (including the jeti) do not like that. Had the same problem on my powerbox mercury's which is in all my jets (around 12 systems). After reprogramming the 747HV servos to deadband 3ms, everything is fine. Got this information from powerbox systems including the programmer... the only downside, the DSP-1 is not really cheap...
Just found your channel today I’m really glad I did!! This is amazing I didn’t know how much detail and skill it takes to make one of these aircraft! Keep it up!
Very nice step by step walk through. Ill definitely be using this when I work through my functional wings. As I do not have the bell crank for the flaps Ill be interested to see how you work through it. I have been debating an external linkage on mine. Hopefully there is an alternative.
Very Sweet Wing Build. May I give you a photo Tip for the Jets you Build ? Jonathan you are working on my Favorite Jet. Just Wish Our Navy gave the OK to build the F21 TomCat Jr.
@@thelightersideofrc Jonathan. I am not a Great Writer so ask Questions if I leave you hanging. Could you use any of the Servo hardware they give you? In our F5J plane we have Bearing to hold the Servo arm better and could you use the Trays they give you? They have awesome ways to connect the flaps and So On. Last since you a Busy Man. In the New Shop have Wifely paint one Wall that looks like Sky with Some Clouds ☁ then build three brackets that you can hold your Jet ✈ ( like this Jet) maybe use the Landing Gear Doors Open . hello! can I use a hysol product to adhere the formers in my Byron models? they consist of polyester resin fuselage! what do u recommend ? Thanks for your time!
Generally yes but with the Slats running on Carbon sliders it would induce alot of binding in the system and load on the servo if we tried to get them even. This is why I did the first step of moving it out manually to see how it sits in it's "Happy State".
The slats use 2 servos. There will probably always be some buzz from these paired servos just because thee will always be some resistance in the system.
HAHA..I lost it last year for a few months. I thought I left in on the trailer wheel and drove away at the field. Thankfully it was buried in the tool box!
Lots of progress in this first wing video! Thanks for watching! If you get a min, check out my site! www.thelightersideofrc.com/
Wow!! That will be awesome to see the wings slats and flaps working, as well to see how the flight characteristics change
For sure! Lots going on on these wings! Pretty slick setup!
another great video! thanks for sharing! The shop cat sure is a big helper!!!!LOL!
HAHA. Thanks Dale. She is so Helpful! 🤔
Hi Jon ,
Yeah , looks aright doddle to do!! lol
You have the patience of a saint !!
Cheers
Phil
Thanks Phil!
I love all the tech in these wings. Great job. Can't wait to see it all together.
Thanks Sal! It's a complicated wing!
Wow, excellent post, as always! That swing mechanism is amazing to see, looks so very robust. Excellent videography and instruction!
Thank you very much! Couldn't believe how beefy that swing wing mech was when I first saw it!

hI Jonathan, awesome video, first time I saw wings with slats, spoilers and flaps on an rc model... congrats, nice job......
Thanks Alain! Yea lot's going on with these wings!

Welcome aboard Matthew! Thanks so much for watching and checking things out! Yea there is a lot of detail and systems involved!
Egad, this thing is complex! And all of this magic has to work properly before the maiden. Wow. Thanks for this one, it’s been quite the adventure.
Thanks! Yea there is lot's going on!
Great job man, always enjoy watching you figure things out!
Thanks Sean! This was a head scratcher to get to this point. Great challenging wings!
Looking really good , very time consuming to great all the small adjustments working properly good Job. Becoming very familiar with the Jeti!
Yea so many small tricks and tips with the Jeti! Constantly learning!
Hope you give us a full toor of the new shop!
That's the plan!
LOL, need a leash for the cat. Great video.
HAHA. And a door!
Great video as always Jonathan!
Thanks Stacy!
Awesome job love the jets

Great job as always. Say Prrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr to your cat for me.
HAHA. Thanks Steve.
Superb setup. First time I see slats on a jet, will they be as functional as on the full scale counterparts?
Thanks! Fully functional!

Hey Dale. For critical areas I use 9462. Make sure to sand the fuse at the gluing location and clean dust off.
@@thelightersideofrc thank you!!!
@@thelightersideofrc will 9460 work? 9462 is hard to come by! lol
It would seem that the flap gap should be equal for both inboard and outboard.
Sorry make that the slat gap measurement with the slat extended.

It's really very difficult for 3 servos with 3 differents ajustments for the same slat ! We can hear a small noise from one of 3 servos ?.
The slats use 2 servos. There will probably always be some buzz from these paired servos just because thee will always be some resistance in the system.
Just as a manner of information, how much are these models to buy, as well as size available. Who sells these awesome models. Cheers
It varies a massive amount depending on size and fit out. Generally ordering from the manufacture.
Don't you loose that bent screwdriver, they are indispensable 😂😂😂
