This song "Halo" is about man name Bell searching for Haley (his love) on planet Prox whom FEC (Antagonist Corporation who took over the Earth) forcefully took with them to Prox after the rebellion 7 years prior to the events shown in the video. So after knowing that she met her demise, to meet Haley, Bell with the help of Dr. Borden send a Transmission to the past depicting the events which will happen on Earth in the future.
You see. How after getting Bell's transmission, Dr. Steven Browning (Bates) who is in present got to know what FEC will do in the future and by burning the FEC proposal he changed the timeline ending up in a perfect life for Haley and Bell. You need to read the novel to understand each and every song in Transmission album. and believe me it's a very awesome story and these songs will then make even more sense to you.
I have read the Prox transmissions but you still need to watch closely to make any sense

Internet says Transmissions came out in 2014 but they are making music since 2013. But to be considered as a "breakthrough band" you must release an album not a demo or a remix

I can understand why some people would not like this music. Rhythmically, melodically, it's not too complex, and some really need that type of stimulation,
Where this band stands apart from many is their lyrical content, the messages their songs convey. And the instrumentals support it perfectly, to suggest the emotional tone of each song.
These songs reveal so much of the spirit, of life, in such a way that you need to attend to the lyrics, and be open to having your life changed, in order to truly appreciate this music.
And here we see, a hipster in its natural habitat, carefully choosing words so that he sounds sofisticated and smart. LOL XD jokes aside, what you say its completely true, and i feel many people dont apreciate music for their meaning. They just do it for the rythm. And music is so much more, its complex, maningful, beautiful, it connects people. That is why i love bands such as starset, imagine dragons, etc. They have songs with a deeper meaning. Music is awsome, and i wish more people could really understand its purpose

The "Transmissions" album is amazing, every song has a strong meaning. And I like your mentioning Imagine Dragons, same thing - their music is quite profound, not simply organized tones.

I noticed the drum work at about that same point, and I went back and listened specifically to the drummer, this song is A WORKOUT for the drummer! He gets a few breathers, but he's a busy dude!

Mohammad Abu Ata You need to realize they're more than just a "band" that tries to sound good. they are relaying messages inside their songs, and the whole "Transmissions" theme at the end is more than just to sound cool or not. there is somthing called the "Starset Society" and STARSET is made from it...look up their website and dig into some of their info they talk about on their website. very interesting stuff!

This was the first song I ever heard by this band and the moment the chorus hit, I legitimately thought I’d heard of them before. I had to check my phone to make sure, but no I hadn’t heard of them ever. Matter of fact, they’d just started. There’s something special about them for sure, regardless of whatever musical effect that is the explanation for what I felt.

My interpretation of these lyrics are Jesus saves!! For those dealing with constant trauma, anxiety, depression, addictions, always falling to the darkness or the worlds ways. God is right there, ready to come meet you exactly where you are if you just reach out. These lyrics are so beautiful, and really do resembles Christ's love for us all, and his saving grace and powers.

Youkai Hime From my understanding, they are all involved in Starset's main thing (basically hacking into government systems maybe?) so people are trying to find and arrest them and obviously she gets captured, so the main character goes to find and rescue her. I know that it gets kind of confusing, (I was confused until the end) but I truly think it would've been a better video if they hadn't shown Dustin (or even the old dude that often even though he kind of gives us a glimpse on why she's being captured) that much, but don't get me wrong, I LOVE DUSTIN BATES

This was the first song I listened to by Starset. [*FLASHBACK SEQUENCE*] I was in another tab when this went on and in a fraction of a second I grinning like an idiot because I liked the song. In a fraction of a minute I gave up guessing the artist and looked at the tab. In a fraction of a quarter of an hour I already searched up the band and put all their songs on a playlist. I then spent the best fraction of my life listening to their songs on full blast & loop and loving every second of it. Halle-starset-lujah!

+Beating the Unbeatable It was something like that for me. Starset opened for Breaking Benjamin when they came to my town last month, so I looked them up the night before. I found the "My Demons" video, pressed play, and I haven't looked back since. Between the video and the music, I was in love by the time it hit the first chorus. I haven't fallen this hard and this fast for a band since I found Anberlin during the summer of 2007.

Here is my take on the video, which is awesome:
In 2044, a hero arrives on the FEC controlled planet PROX to look for Dr. Haley Borden - a botanist or biologist studying the plant life on PROX, after her communications to her father Dr. James Borden have suddenly ceased.
He finds her laboratory but she isn't there. He sees signs of a struggle and finds her personal journal. He reads her journal entries hoping it contains clues to what happened and realizes that FEC agents have kidnapped Haley and taken her away.
Back on Earth, a worried Dr. James Borden is in his FEC funded laboratory where he monitors transmissions to and from PROX. He receives an incoming message from Haley, most likely to inform him of her capture and to communicate FEC's demands and what will happen if they do not comply.
He then remembers back to Haley's childhood, which is also the time he invented the technology used to reach PROX. He remembers receiving what he thought was his dream come true: funding from FEC to develop his invention.
Now, fearing what will become of his daughter, he hatches a plan to stop the FEC once and for all.
On PROX, the hero tracks Haley, who has been taken away to a facility by FEC agents and is being forced to fix/repair their equipment. She finally completes the repairs and the tower powers up, lighting up in the dark and drawing the attention of the hero.
In what she fears will be her final transmission, Haley tells her father that the repairs are complete and that FEC will soon have no further use for her. Her father springs into action and primes the machine in his laboratory.
The hero takes off in the direction of the facility. Back on Earth, FEC agents rush in to arrest/remove Dr. Borden from his station. During the struggle, he initializes the machine and is dragged off.
The hero arrives at the tower; a Deuterium Mining Facility. As dawn breaks on PROX, he finds Haley inside. She sees that he has her journal and knows he is there to rescue her. Relief washes over them both as they embrace. The two attempt to escape the Mining Rig, but are pursued by FEC agents with guns.
Back in the time of Haley's childhood, while working on the prototype of his invention, Dr. James Borden receives a transmission from his future self, telling him of Haley and the deeds of the FEC. Fearing for his daughter and knowing the FEC's plans for his invention, Dr. Borden burns the FEC's offer of funding, assuring the invention is never completed and the future is forever changed.
In a new, alternate present, Haley thumbs through her newly purchased journal and meets with her boyfriend, the Hero. The FEC Mining facility and Dr. Borden's Com lab go dark, signaling the end of one reality as Haley and the Hero walk off hand in hand, signaling the beginning of new and hopeful reality.
