I LOVE this version of Eliza and Bob, I think for me, I'd have them do counciling together, and see a fertility specialist to see about what can happen for them to have their baby. I always imagine that Bob also wanted a baby, but with this storyline it even makes it sadder, because I think he wants a child, but not to lose Eliza. So he wants that baby so badly, but not at the cost of the love of his life and that increased the size of the rift.
