Bro, those are the shoes i had back as a little kid in the 80's , i jad white and light grey sole and swoosh. They was my favorite nikes of all time. If they brought them back, i need to get a pair ASAP
I love the old 80s shoes and this one in this colour is really clean. I don’t think they should pitch this as a Samba beater, they’re not remotely in the same ballpark- literally! That ballistic nylon keeps the shoe light but nasty on the creases. I’m going to see this in hand first. Good review 👍🏻
Futsal must really be popular then and now. I checked up modern Futsal shoes, and they haven't changed much in appearance although internal tech would have dramatically improved.
In England stores like Sports Direct stock soccer shoes and other cheap shoes. The materials (apart from the nylon) all look the exact same (and are immediately recognisable). Same style leather and rubber outsole/ painted finish, same everything. I think they just got the same factory to make an American 80s basketball style shoe. The sole on the Samba looks just like a (modern) indoor soccer/ hanball shoe. The rest looks like an old school (Black and White era) soccer boot they'd use on grass with studs.

Just ordered. Really liking the simplicity factor and not bothered by nylon upper creasing (have Adidas SL72 OG's which have nylon uppers) Tops to Nike on these.
Sure looks good and yeah that nylon does look like it’ll be a problem. I may grab a pair as I’m looking for more everyday wear shoe and that does look like it’ll comfortable.
I have a fairly wide foot and about 10 pairs of Cortez’s because they are ridiculously comfortable for me. Would anyone know how much more narrow the Field Generals are because I love the look.
weren’t they both worn on turf? regardless, the everyday consumer wears samba’s casually like most older styles across brands. i highly doubt the majority of ppl will be wearing either for soccer/football in 2024. my comparison is for ppl who wear both styles casually.

they’re pretty narrow so half up is prob better for wide footers.
