Chris Horner Butterfly Effect breakdowns got me like, “It’s the MOST wonderful tiiiime of the yearrrrr.”
😂👊🦋🇫🇷
For all of the (well-deserved) hype over the 4 titans coming into this year's TDF, it's been thrilling to see Bardet, Vauquelin, and Girmay win stages!
Long may it continue... been fabulous so far!
Still frame breakdowns? No thanks. Until you see the genius of the Horner family. Absolutely nothing is lost by not having moving pictures. And yes, the arrow game is STRONG!
Without question the best arrow on RUclips
Bini reminds me of Sagan's smart sprint -surfing. He used his team's lead out as almost a decoy
It was really poetic that Girmay won a stage in Italy. It was agonizing to see him crash out of the Giro after struggling so much to get back on his bike following his first crash.
Italy wasn't finished with him yet!
Congrats to Bini and the tiny country of Eritrea! You have a great hero. We all all celebrate with you!
Thanks we are over the moon
Tinny? Maybe in african terms. It has 117.000km2 and 3,6mio inhabitants. Denmark 43.000 km2 and 6mio.
Tiny 😂
OK family... quiet in the house and the computer is mine, Chris just posted his take on the Tour de France
I see there was a fire sale on arrows, and Garrett took advantage 🤣
Yes he did. 😂🦋👊
AMAZING FACT ABOUT ERITREAN CYCLING.
105,000 tickets was sold out for the final stage of 1997 Tour of Eritrea.
The Eritrean National Championship always has around 5500 spectators at the finish line.
Cycling is National Sport of Eritrea.🇪🇷
Is it an Italian thing?
@@alpsalish you can say legacy
Been watching some gravel and bike pack events in Rwanda, South africa and its obvious that a Tour de Africa would be an absolute fantastic event
I remember the 1997 tour Eritrea, it was a very big event. Bini got the opportunity at early age, I believe there was/is a lot of Binis in Eritrea. Climbers like Desalegn Negash and Dawit Mehari, sprinters like Yonas Zecarias and Senay Tsegay.
Bravo Eritrea and Ecuador!!! Historic indeed Chris, this is a good TdF!!
Too bad there are no Estonians in the Tour.
🇪🇷💪🦋👊
@@AlanForkoshgive it a few years and madis mihkels will be doing great things in the tour
Finally, Chris what took you so long!! I waited for so long this time or I felt it long wait maybe. Biniam victory is now complete after your video. I am happy Eritrean ever today. ❤
Bini delivered. 🇪🇷😃🦋👊
I don't know why Visma changed their colors. I can't find them out there now.
They did it last year too. Just tdf to distinguish from yellow jersey.
The TdF doesn’t allow the yellow jerseys because is too easy to confuse them with the maillot jaune. Same thing with EF and the Giro
Ag2R and IP/t are impossible almost to tell the difference until the video is super clear. Visma I just assume that if the ride is blue and at the front, it’s Visma. 😂🦋👊
@@TheGotoGeek That's true but in the other years they still had some black and yellow and made it easier to track them. New kit looks like urban camo to me.
last year’s black jersey with a hint of yellow was gorgeous. so was 2021’s with the rocky grey. but both jerseys retained yellow as a secondary color so i dont get why they didnt do that here
Also, while Carapaz and EF did work to stay at the front before the crash, Tadej literally tried to give the yellow to Remco yesterday. Neither he nor Jonas were interested in having to do extra protocol by wearing the jersey.
That lady in pink ...on the side of the road ....was a knucklehead...😅😅😅
I loved the bike leaning sprint wobbles matching so well. If they had been out of phase Bini wouldn’t have had enough room to get through. Good to see the yellow jersey pass also. Love your live action insights!
Arrow work - 🔥!!!
Garrett is the bomb.
That’s Garrett 🦋👊
It's too good. Signing up for Peacock. Also, #TeamArrow because it makes the recap understandable (no really, I appreciate it)
Garrett loves the arrows magic. 👊👍🔥🦋
Been waiting for your summary all day…great stuff!
👊🦋
The best bit at the start was Abrahamsen rolling off the front for a few km then literally stopping to wait for the bunch when he needed to take a "nature break".
If you got to go 😂🦋
This year has seen a great opening I think. Three unexpected stage winners with emotional finishes. Tomorrow will be interesting watching the GC guys lock horns in the mountains.
Huge win for Bini, Africa, Intermarche....
Three small team wins, three different riders in yellow and the Galibier on stage 4...what's not to like!
Wow, quick turn-around on this episode. Thank you.
I tried 😜🦋👊
Agreed it was boring as fuck till the end. Everyone has to remember how hard the first two stages were. They were all recovering by sleep-riding. Surprise there wasn’t a bigger crash during the race from lack of attention.
@patrickwong4824. HEY! Watch your language.
Yep. Snooze and the on fire. 💤🦋👊🔥🇫🇷
Nice breakdown as always Chris. I was a bit sad that Cavendish had a mechanical that took him out of the stage, but it was great to see Girmay win, especially after that horrific crash he suffered in the giro.
His mechanical wasn't the issue. He and team (except Ballerini) got caught behind that last crash. There was a video where he stated that exactly.
This is huge for Bini as he also has Giro stage. Tadej was probably glad Billy Carapaz took the jersey so he can deal with all the interviews and ceremonies. Today's stage 4 will be fire. Great job breaking down the stage!
Bini! So awesome. I would like to hear some story time about Lotto days with McEwen. That jersey is unreal.
What do you think of the 3 km rule being moved forward to 5 km yesterday, Chris?
To me it looked like it worked
So many 'what-ifs' here. The crash seems to have disrupted some of the sprint teams. Then MVDP taken out with a technical. Somehow it opened up for Girmay, who only had one path to the line. He grabbed his opportunity and went for it.
The best TDF analyses. Congrats Bini now you’re one of the best sprinters on the Planet. 🇪🇷💪🇪🇷💪🇪🇷
👊🦋
Not until he wins a proper bunch sprint, not from a reduced bunch.
He is not a pure sprinter but he managed to win infornt of pure sprinters @@graymcmic1419
I was celebrating Bini the rest of the day, and with your beyond the cover on him, and how good he can be, I supose U too
Thanks Chris and garrett, fine work of you too as always
Big win for sure. Bini was on it 👊🦋💪
Love the channel but maybe it is time for a team to hire you, Chris, as directeur sportif. 🦋♥️ Would love to hear you call someone a knucklehead over race radio.
Hehehe. That would be fun to say on the radio. 🤪🦋👊
Chris get off the chesterfield the stage ended hours ago
This was excellent....
Great show tonight thank you Chris and Garrett for all your time and work on show see you we day nite
Are we not gonna discuss Dylan Groenewegen’s nose cover? That must have some butterfly effect on something.
Great manic summary of the final sprint. Chris is always entertaining, even if the stage isn't. No comments about Cav?
I’m really happy today as Eritrea 🇪🇷 bini made history Chris, I’ve been waiting for you all day man 🤩🤩 I learned a lot from you
History? Pump the brakes.
These are such good breakdowns, Chris. No nonsense--just like how you raced even the tiniest crits lol.
5:24 Chris, I love u... but, respectfully, it's Nils Politt. Why do u say "Paulette"?
Not a big deal, just sayin.
Also, Binny ROCKS! ✌️🦋
You should be on the TV. Super good break down!
How ads should be done. Thank you for the great recaps!
This is why these 'So called' greatest races are 95% of the time....mind numbingly boring.
Racing for 21 days produces one thing.....very little action as they are constantly saving as much energy as possible....
The spring classics and one day races make these tours very poor viewing
Great finish today!! Super stoked that Girmay finally got a stage !! Hope he gets many more. Super happy that Carapaz wearing Yellow, probably not for long. But now maybe J Vaughters can stop complaining about other teams being greedy about winning so much. I know it's only stage 3. But does it seem like everyone is really waiting for the TT to put the official hurt on???
Great sprintanalysis Chris! Side note suggestion: Gerben (firstname) Thijssen (lastname), not Gerbensss😅
Hopefully Girmay didn't crash himself out of the race with the champagne bottle like he did last year. 😂😂😂😂
I don't care what you say about bini ALL I KNOW IS HE WILL DO WHAT EVER HE SETS HIS MIND TO DO
Hey Chris. Did Phil Ligget have any idea a sprint to the finish line was happening? It was bad. He needs to go along with Bob roll. They add nothing
Phil wants to make a good call but it just isn’t happening anymore. The pair do describe the countryside cathedrals well though.
Ha. You got that right!
I've always felt that in sprint finishes, it's the sprinter's job to be there or there-abouts on the wheels of their leadout riders. This frequent looking back and subsequent sudden pulling up/out, can be dangerous. A bazillion years ago in a smaller pro/am road race in New Jersey I was a Cat 2 with leadout duties on my team. Coming into the finish I was on the front and I had the field strung out. I give a quick glance and see the Navigators pro team on my wheel. I had to trust that "my guy" was close enough, and so I kept on the gas if for no other reason than to keep things safer for the field there at the front.
Pleease review Ayuso's 4th stage childish, greedy and sly behavior, not working as a team. 😡 This is not what is asked to a men of work. I really liked to see Almeida gesticule Ayuso to pull in front of the group. I hope the spanish rider change his way off ride but it looks Matxin liked it 🤔
Couldn’t be happier for Bini. Also for Romain who has had a great career. Thanks Chris. The Tour is even better with your reviews
But harsh calling Biniam Girmay a floater!!! I think he's a bit more than that. Don't know if in the US a foster is called the same as here in the UK, something that is still there after you flush, if you know what I mean. Never heard this term before.
Stage 3 was one of the most boring TdF stages I've ever suffered through. It only got interesting in the last 1000 meters.
Thank goodness we have a real stage tomorrow on the Col du Tourmalet.
Jonas must’ve been bathing in KetoneAid because it’s a Xmas miracle recovery.😂
🛁💪🦋🤪
I think Mads "felt" Gaviria coming up his left and as he moved the bike to the left Girmay got that nice opening for the win! Perhaps if mads stays close to the barriers Gaviria wins tho
It is so much fun to know how the magic of cycling is done;)
Thanks, Chris & Co.
I'm watching on Peacock and had a lot of trouble finding where Bini was in the final mile, but thanks to these arrows i can see where he came from, huge cheers.
Great job, Bini and Richard, to first in the history of the TDF.
And as for the brain dead fans and their cell phones, they are going to cause another gaint crash riders at going to get hurt. This crap needs to stop. These riders train hard, and it one moron to destroy their season or carrier. Just stop.
Horner talking about ketones when we all know he's a coke and snickers kind of guy
Keepin the algorithm alive
Ooh, almost got there with a cleanup on aisle / stage 3 pun for the Intermarche squad 😎.
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 now i belive what I saw 🎉 u too late thoooo
I am not done with a race till I have listened to the dissections of Christ Horner. What a man!
The extraordinary Chris!
BINIAM GIRMANY, THE NEW USAIN BOLT OF CYCLING 😅
BINNY! BINNY!🏁🥇🏆
Wow ok so they were fighting. I actually thought UAE and visma struck a deal to work together to take control of the front with all the chaos of the last 25km.
Siv and Jan were not happy that’s for sure. 😜🦋🔥🇫🇷
No one can break a race down like Chris! Let's Gooooo!
Chesterfield, I had to Google that. Nice!
The Peacock coverage is so frustratingly brutal if you're a cycling fan. Always cutting away from the race for irrelevant nonsense, hyping everything when most of it will not be a factor - I spend every morning cursing the broadcast and not enjoying the Tour.
Today was the worst yet. They had it set up to close out the broadcast every ad break for the first half hour or more. UNREAL. I signed up for Flo Bikes and just need to get a VPN today and then switching to the world feed (I think ad free).
The fastest 20 minutes in sport! We want more!
Why you have uploaded your updates/review so late recently 😇😂😂🤣
The stages are super long. Normally the races are only 100k of video time live but at the TdF they show the whole stage and post and pre race videos. We get 3-4 hours more racing for us to go thru. I don’t like to leave out how the beginning of the race affected the final of it so each video is more work. 🤔🦋👊🇫🇷🔥
👍
Matt 👍👊🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋
Sprint stages should all be 50k max
Just make them 50m!
50k and each team gets to put a climber ahead with a 10k head start.
Agreed. Or put some short climbs in there. I hated stage like today but luckily the finish was always so good that I forgot how much I hated the stage by the time I almost died a few times and then crossed the finish line. By the time I got to the bus I didn’t remember anything but the finish of the race. 😂🤪👊🦋
Typical sprinter stage snooze fest
biniam won this stage peter sagan style
Absolutely historic day for cycling! Bini Bini Bini! Love seeing all these winners from underdog teams and now I hope this is the start of lots of winners from Africa! Cycling was a winner today too!
Been plenty of African winners
@@graymcmic1419 Not really. We’re talking about a black African winner. And I’m not saying those white Africans aren’t Africans. Wether you like it or not Bini is one the best sprinters in the World. No matter how you try to slice it. 🇪🇷💪🇪🇷💪

Congrats to Biniam Girmay and Intermarché for making history, bet Chris couldn’t see that happening 😉
Wheres todays video Chris?
Such a good video!
Chris, you are the best play by play sports announcer and sport strategist! Why are you not on the Tour coverage, I would be so much more exciting.
Interesting ride by Bora. Do you have any word on their tactic? They stayed at the back right behind a main part of peloton where there’s more room.
It just wasn't Alpecin's day. Coming into the final stretch, Mathieu having a mechanical and Jasper getting held up due to a crash.
never give up bravo biniam top sprint ! team horner is not a wind instrument team ! njoylife
Looking forward to the stage today. The tour is always amazing. Thanksss for everything Chris
Amazing win for Girmay, a bit messy for the pure sprinters lined up behind him, timed to perfection.
Curious that MVDP couldn't catch the peloton after his bike change. I assume the DS told him to forget it because Jasper was held up from that crash, so there was no point wasting energy if Jasper didn't need a lead out. I'm not clear on the timeline of how all of this unfolded.
He tried, and came down to 33 seconds at one point but then they went so fast the gap grew again, and he gave up with 2-3 km to go iirc
The peloton rides at 65 km/h at that point, no rider on his own can close that gap of 45 seconds anymore.... Since the rider will need to ride at 70 km/h for several km's... And nobody can do that....
From the hip injury just 8 weeks ago in Giro..to a stunning victory in Tour 🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷
Please address Healy's stupid attempts to close gaps to the break away in stages 1 and 2
VERY interesting to see how long the 'dark horse' Carapaz can hold on to the yellow jersey~🤔
Cavendish? van Aert??
DSM, Arkea now Intermarche this tour will be great :)
