this TV shows was introduced to China around 1995, and it is absolutely beloved by my generation. We saw what a typical american family look like, the culture, the different way of educating kids. Everything was interesting to us. I watched it over and over again during the summer holidays until i move to Canada. Good to see them to sit together again. Just love this "family". I was quite sad when the show ended.....

Kirk Cameron's latest bigoted and hateful remarks on "The Piers Morgan Show" about gays finally went so far over the line that at least two of the other cast members in the show "Growing Pains" felt obliged to speak up.
Tracey Gold's comment made what she thought on the subject very clear:
"I'm a strong supporter of the #LGBT community, and I believe in equal rights for all. #NOH8 #LOVE."
She, also, posted a photo of herself with "NO H8" emblazoned on her cheek.

He said it was "unnatural" and "detrimental and destructive" to society. None of that is false. It is NOT natural. Stick the male end of an electrical cord to another male end and see what happens. Nothing. Same as with humans. Two males cannot make a child. Two females cannot make a child. Because...it's NOT NATURAL. Not having children DECREASES population - ding ding ding - which is "detrimental and destructive" to society. So...what Kirk said is true. Just goes against what you THINK is true. But...FACTS don't care about your OPINION. No matter how hard you stomp your feet.

He and his wife seem to be as solid as ever, and they have raised 6 children, several of them adopted and from different ethnic backgrounds. Good for him👍🏼

@Ac711 NO KIRK TURNED COMPLETELY AWAY FROM ALL OF YAHOSHUA TEACHINGS AS YAHOSHUA IS "THE WORD" GOD THE SECOND PERSON OF THE ELOHIM THE ONE THAT SPEAKS GOD THE FIRST PERSONS EVERY WILL--WANT. "THE WORD" WAS SENT DOWN FROM HEAVEN TO FULFILL THE PROPHECY AS WAS BE MADE FLESH AND IS THE PROMISED MESSIAH--CHRIST--ANOINTED ONE THAT WAS PROPHESIED OF FOR THE JEWS AND ALL GENTILES. KIRK HAS MADE UP HIS OWN FALSE TEACHINGS AND HAS TURNED SOOOO MANY PEOPLE FROM YAHOSHUA'S TEACHINGS AND HAS THEM FOLLOWING--BELIEVING IN KIRK'S OWN CREATED NEW FALSE TEACHING THAT HE HAS IMPLEMENTED BITS AND PART OF OTHER PAGAN BELIEFS TO ONE BELIEF. CHRISTIAN'S ARE NOT 'RELIGIOUS' AS EL SHADDAI--GOD ALMIGHTY, YAHSOSHUA, AND THE RUACH HOKADESH--THE HOLY SPIRIT THE ELOHIM' ARE NOT A RELIGION. A PERSON WHO COMPLETELY FOLLOWS DISCIPLE OF THE ONLY SAVIOUR FOR THE WORLD IS NOT A RELIGIOUS A AS WE ARE NOT OF ANY OF SATAN'S RELIGIONS AS OF 1 EXAMPLE BEING THE RELIGION CATHOLICISM IS SATAN'S THEY NONE OF THEM ARE A CHILD OF GOD ALMIGHTY.

Say what you will about Kirk, but I must say that I have total respect for him. Yeah, I'm a Christian, and I don't agree with everything he says or does, but then again, nobody agrees with everybody all the time. I do honestly think he's a good person with a good, kind heart and good intentions. I think he catches a lot of flack from people because he's not afraid of speaking his mind and expressing his beliefs, which are good things. As a fellow Christian, we need more people like him in the world. Maybe things wouldn't be in the state they are in right now with all the wars and people killing others if we had more people like him. I know I will probably be mocked and made fun of for this post, but I don't care. I've had too many things happen in my life for me to not believe there is a God. I know some will question how I can believe in something I can't see, but I will leave you with this thought: You can't see air, but you know it's there because you're breathing. Same for

Mike Seaver was a trouble-making teen who often disobeyed his parents. When Kirk found Jeebus, he suddenly had a problem with the character. He’d say “we can’t have Mike do THIS, we can’t have Mike say THAT to his father, etc.” And the cast and crew naturally resented that. He was hired to play a role, not push religious beliefs. And as Thicke suggests, if you think the saccharine and benign GROWING PAINS sends an “evil” message, you’re in for a huge surprise on other TV and movie sets. Thankfully, I think Kirk is tamer now than when he first got religion, more measured in what he says; I like the gentle touch on Thicke’s shoulder with “No, I so appreciate what you’re saying; I want you to keep talking.”

Kirk's cast members have had many issues with him dating back to the final season of the show when he became very religious, distanced himself from his cast members, refused to talk to them, stay in contact with them. Gold even refused to invite him to her wedding as he refused to invite any of the cast to his wedding. They were pretty outspoken against him following this interview, following his anti-gay comments and other crazy things he said. Cameron is such a horrible, hate filled person. He only cares about himself unless you share 100% the same views as he does. If not, well then clearly you are a sinner and will burn in hell.
"Thicke, who played Kirk Cameron's father on the family friendly sitcom Growing Pains, tweeted in response to Cameron calling homosexuality "unnatural" and "destructive" on Piers Morgan Tonight, writing "I'm getting him some new books. The Old Testament simply can't be expected to explain everything." That tweet followed a softer comment on Sunday night, in which Thicke tweeted, "I'll address kirk's comments as soon as I recover from rush limbaugh's."
"Tracy Gold, who played Cameron's Growing Pains sister, tweeted a rebuke of his comments on Sunday night, writing, "I am a strong supporter of the #LGBT Community, and I believe in equal rights for all. #NOH8 #LOVE"
    www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/alan-thicke-tweets-kirk-cameron-anti-gay-comments-growing-pains-296868
    people.com/tv/kirk-camerons-feud-with-growing-pains-costar-tracey-gold-over-marriage-equality/
"Though Thicke claims he mailed a wedding invitation to his TV son, Gold makes no apologies for leaving Cameron off her 1994 invite list. "If I'd invited him, he probably wouldn't have come," says Gold, 31. "At the end, Kirk had drifted away from the show. When he got married during a summer hiatus up in New York, none of us were invited. He had pretty much made it clear he needed his separation from us." In the final seasons of "Growing Pains," Cameron found both God (though he rejects the label "born again") and a wife in on-screen love interest Chelsea Noble, who appears in the reunion as Mike's now-wife Kate. "I definitely kind of made an about-face, going toward another aspect of my life," admits Cameron. "I shifted my focus from 100% on the show, to 100% on [my new life], and left 0% on the show--and even the friendships that were a part of that show. If I could go back, I think I could make decisions that were less inadvertently hurtful to the cast--like talking and explaining to them why I just wanted to have my family at my wedding." Following the series' cancellation, Cameron made no attempt to maintain contact with his former co-stars. It had been eight years since he'd even spoken to Gold. "

It's what separates The One True Gospel from defiled and pointless religion. It has to be revealed by Him to the one upon whom He bestows His mercy. However, it also true that if anyone seeks they will find, but you have keep seeking and let Him decide when He is ready to reveal Himself to you. So many "good" people will read this and criticize this because do not even understand that they don't understand.

Alan Thicke was such a class act. He handled Kirk’s religion question so beautifully and diplomatically, because in truth Kirk angered the entire cast back then, and contributed to the show having to end. But Alan is right... of all the vices available to a young star as popular as Kirk back then, religion (though he’s homophobic and weaponizes God) was really probably the best one. It’s probably the reason he survived childhood stardom without winding up strung out or dead.

Too bad Leo isn't there, this was where he got his start and it would be interesting to see him back with the Seaver family. I do wonder if there was any tension between Leo and Kirk based on their beliefs?

Kirk Cameron made the best decision anyone could ever make, when this life is all said and done most of us are going to wish that we had made the same decision to put God first..

Kirk was a talented actor & the show was awesome back in the day. We may not agree with his religion but it is not our life & it is his life so he has the right to be a Christian or not, the bottom line is u cant tell other ppl what to do with there life's we may not like it but it's there right to choose what is best for them.

I'm not a religious person but it's hilarious and at the same time SAD how some people get so offended by it. Take this clown *lurch321*... he's so utterly offended that Kirk would dare share his beliefs with other people and goes on to call him a douchebag when it's clear who the real douchebag is here... lol. The bottom line is religion helps a lot of people live a better life because it gives them certain guidelines on how to get through life and be happy, at least for them. If losers like *lurch321* don't want or need that in their life that's fine & dandy but the truly interesting aspect to this is how most religious people aren't bothered when people like lurch don't believe what they do yet people like lurch come absolutely UNGLUED if you don't believe how THEY do (no God, afterlife, etc).
People like *lurch321* are totally incapable of just allowing people to believe in whatever helps THEM have or live a better life and are rather strangely compelled to talk shit about religious people while religious folks are more than happy to simply allow "lurch people" to believe whatever they want and live their lives however they want. So basically you have one group who is content to just let people live and believe whatever helps you have a better life while the other group feels compelled to dictate how and what others should or shouldn't believe in.
Really illustrates who is who when you look at it the way things *really* are....

Mr. Allen C. Sokolik Jr. The problem with him is he tries to push his view as influence. He advertises a form of bigotry and tries to use it for a conversion. It goes far beyond simple opinion when you spend your days, money, and career on trying to tell the rest of us what is right and wrong because of a book you follow. It's kind of a sickness.

Mike Hawk I don't really give a frogs fat ass about Kirk Cameron's conversion, except for when it comes to Andrew Koenig, whom he never lifted one finger to help. Kirk's religion has pretty much nothing to do with his conversion, despite his christanity, he is a douche. I'm very happy he has found something that he claims has made him delirously happy, I just wish his happines didn't come with the price of hurting others.

Cameron's fellow cast members are way too kind. His decision to reject scripts that portrayed Mike Seaver as the character he had already played for 5 years, and that fans loved put the entire show in jeopardy. He selfishly decided that he was too good to play an average teenager, and could only from then on play Kirk Cameron.

When people go through traumatic experiences and feel very alone, what could be more comforting than believing that there is someone you can talk to that always listens and loves you and cares? I am an atheist but I understand that fundamental religion is a balm. I have no problem with the religious until they use their beliefs to hurt others. I don't believe that they want to hurt people but you have to keep the baby AND the bathwater if you take a bronze aged book literally.

I wish I was the Christian that Kirk was. All you atheist Christian bashers stop. YOu think you know everything. I keep up with the scientific theories about how life started and for me science can not explain it. Why is it so hard to believe in a supernatural world. Don't make science your religion. What about the idea that humans have evolved to believe in God. If evolution is existl it would not give rats ass whether outcome of evolution resulted in scientific or religious people.

"Do not judge, or you too will be judged" is a ridiculous teaching and contrary to other teachings of Jesus. eg. Matt 10:11 has Jesus ordering his followers to go out and judge who's worthy.
You say that all religious extremism is dangerous...yet you have no problems with religious moderation --- cherry picking what you like from a religion and ignoring/lying about what you don't like?
Sadly, if moderates were sincere about their religion, they would not be moderates.
