  • “Brains, Beauty, & Breeches - World Tour Offer For Lucky young woman… Wanted to join an expedition…”
That was the ad that Aloha Wanderwell saw in 1922, and right away, she felt as if it had been written especially for her. She was only 16 years old but already knew that being a “proper young lady” was not for her. From a young age, she had an unquenchable thirst for adventure. Aloha was just waiting for the right opportunity and now knew she had found it.
Seventy-five countries and 380,000 miles later, Aloha Wanderwell had become the first woman to drive around the world, earning the moniker of “the Amelia Earhart of the open road.”

Footage by Aloha Wanderwell is held at the Academy Film Archive in the Aloha Wanderwell Baker Film Collection. The Academy Film Archive has preserved many of these films, from both 35mm nitrate and 16mm sources, including rare 1920s and 1930s footage.

I love this kind of stories! I made a song about Amelia Earhart, she tried to fly around the world but dissapeared, its on my channel.
Maybe I should make one about Aloha, some kind of fussion jazz, like Cassiopea inspired, like that kind of music that is played in race games, but with a funky twist. Aloha Wonderwell, in march.

Hey, Karl. I'm interested in a Geographics about inflation in Germany after the Treaty of Versailles was signed. I think it'll be a very interesting period to cover! Great video hosting on this one as well! I don't mind the tangents. I feel that it keeps the pace of the videos interesting.

I suppose if she had taken her driving test and passed. She would have been able to turn left or right negating the extra long journey for some bread and milk. & Don't let's bring reversing a Car into it, as some women might be able to reverse fairly well after a few years practice. Maybe...
