My biggest criticism with the Avatar movies was that James Cameron demonised the humans so much, like that they were lead by this rich money bag, despite having the potential for great 3 dimensional antagonists. Since what the humans are doing in Avatar is basically saving their home and their species. It really makes me mad that Cameron missed this great opportunity of making a movie were you ask yourself "Who actaully is the villian in this Story?" I always rooted for my species.
Yeah Avatar 2 wasted the potential of doing a movie were you can choose both sides and both have their blacks and their whites. But no, he prefered to make a movie where blue people good and human race bad
this movie is not so veiled "Columbus rediscovering the Americas" allegory, that's why they portray it as bad white people oppressing the natives. Except the RDA has much more at stake than just their fame or their lives, it's the future of their home planet and species as a whole that they fight for.
After the release of Avatar 2 he did some interview where he said the same thing. He also said that he wants to change it for the third or fourth movie. That he'll show some negative sides of na'vi and that he'll show some good sides of humanity. So at least on this front I have to respect him a bit more as a filmmaker, because he realises the weakness of his previous movies and will work to rectify it in his future movies.
@@phuchoang7224 The blue furries were arrogant, remember, the humans chose peaceful route just simply asking for resources that the aliens absolutely has no use for and is useless to them, they even said they were not going to damage anything, they wanted resources because the Earth is dying. The ONLY THING I enjoyed about the second movie is the Human arrival in Pandora scene. Spoiler for anyone who hasn't seen it. . . . . . A few minutes of the opening scene, a fleet of a dozen ISV ships arrived at Pandora and dropped the colonists to colonize the planet. The ships' engines were used for decelerating and landing in the planet's atmosphere. Therefore, the sheer energy created by those ships' engines burned large swaths of the forests. Apparently, each ship burned around a 10 mile radius of the forests. Planetary Spiritual Hive Mind and her mindless drones (in the forms of the planet's fauna and flora) ain't shit against Human firepower. That scene was basically a giant F**k You to Eywa and everything on Pandora and I, as a Humanity First supporter, f**king love it.
RDA has lost the battle , they haven't lost the war . They will come back to Pandora with more force because the Na'vi have human blood in their hands now , remember that what the Na'vi had to deal with was a mere security unit . Let the true Military force come to Pandora . We're humans , we're the Apex species in the Galaxy these Primitive Na'vis will bow to us and we will exterminate them all . Good video mate .
A single whaling ship and SF team lost in the second movie, the forces of humanity as a whole never were a part of the fight in the second movie. The scope of the story was much more focused.
Never forget the brave soldiers who died on Pandora advancing our species forward. Jake Sully has joined the rank of infamous traitors such as Judas, Benedict Arnold, Petain, and Quisling. One day, he will pay for turning his back on his own species for some alien tail.
So some spoilers for Avatar 3 are starting to come out, and they are interesting to say the least. James Cameron himself has admitted that since he put so much focus on the negative traits of Humans in the first two films, the third film is going to back off on that. The third film is going to start focusing on the more neutral and positive aspects of Humanity. And as for the Navi, the opposite is going to happen: the third film will introduce the first Navi antagonists in the form of a Fire/Ash tribe. Where to say they are unpleasant will be an understatement; it sounds like they might be straight up evil. And all the stuff the first two Navi tribes did to Humanity will be extremely tame in comparison to what the Fire tribe might do. There's another suggestion that the Fire Navi are going to actually ally themselves with the Humans to attack the rest of their kind for (so far) unknown reasons. This is certainly going to be interesting to see how and where the next movie will go.
"Earth is dying." Now humans might not have a good reason, but they have no choice now. And now they have one method of avoiding aging and another for immortality that maintains the Navi species on Pandora.
Dancing With Wolves was a reasonable criticism of the US' policy towards natives in the US. Besides expansion, there was no legitimate reason that their land had to be taken from them. Avatar... on the other hand... Even with all the scenes expanding on why Humanity was on Pandora and that neither the Na'vi or Humans were above committing atrocities, still managed to paint a situation in which: A.) Humanity's expansion on Pandora was understandable and necessary. B.) The Na'vi-Nature relationship on Pandora is impossible and the attempt to paint the Na'vi as enlightened and Humanity as Mother Nature hating bigots falls flat because the film outright admits that the situation is impossible in real life. All Sully had to do was ask Pandora nicely and suddenly all of the hostile wildlife unites to fight in unison with the Na'vi? Yeah, okay, Cameron. That's a good plot point of your story in which you're trying criticize Humanity's relationship with Nature. Excuse me for just a minute, I'm going to go ask Earth real quick to please stop killing Californians in floods by plugging my weird tentacle dreads into a tree. I'm pretty sure Avatar only got as far as it did was because of how pretty it was. On its face, the plot is dumb and illogical, and a copy of Dancing with Wolves but without any of the valid points of Dancing with Wolves (which even Dancing with Wolves was full of problems).
Saturation bombardment of Pandoras surface is pending approval by the RDA board of directors and the joint chiefs of staff of the “Interplanetary Commerce Administration”. Once approval has been granted, the plan for the complete eradication of all native Pandoran fauna hostile to the colonisation efforts of humanity will come into effect. Long live humanity.
i love how despite the plot armor. the Na'vi got fucking wrecked. they needed some planetwide parasitic tree to win and completely overrun our Heroic RDA brothers and sisters
just put a Single functioning FAS titan unit in that Blasted moon. [grimly chuckled] Of course, Dishustingly overkill, so fairly for those aliens just let it have to multiply first, while consuming that entire moon on the surface for now. then that gaiaform will be that machino-Plague's Last 'snack' then to convert. end of pandora.
