Honestly I always wonder what else will be on touchscreen. Soon no door handles or anything. The entire dash will be a screen we just seat and the car drives. No windows wither all screen. These are all lease vehicles would hate to be stuck with these out of warranty.
The last generation was so much more elegant, both inside and out. I loved those triple LED lines and the recessed screen looked so much cleaner than multiple iPads pasted on the dash at different angles. This looks like a giant CLA. Edit: confused A class with CLA
It just looks so... boring... you look up defintion of a car and you get this a picture. All Mercedes Benz look way to much alike and also so many models have fake vents instead of foglights! What is this? A base model econobox? The dash full of screens is also horrible. I will say the interior color combo, seats, and door panels look nice.

I know that MB trying to keep with with tesla with that huge touch pad, but they completely ignore that the demographic most likely will be people who are 60 years old and up (unlike tesla who are most likely the new generation who are tech savy). Looks good in photos, but that must be horrible to use it on a daily basis, especially if you've use physical knobs all your life (intuitive ; doesn't really need to look at the center console). And man, don't get me started on all the dust and smudges that would probably drive car lovers insane. Aside from that, looks like a pretty good car overall.

The average is trending downward at this point in some markets so they're going there. You keep making cars for older folks and then they die off. Ask Cadillac and Lincoln about it. You have to stay relevant.
This generation of MB is not gonna age well. Designers went lazy with going all screens with no buttons. Oh, and those glossy plastics will sure give you the premium feel.

The MBUX becomes a lot smoother to use once you've set up a user as the system learns most used functions and sets them in order for you to reach them with fewer swipes.
They probably shouldn't compete with Tesla on that field. Stay with the tried and true - that's MB's demographic: boring, cerebral, inflexible, overweight and demanding

That large infotainment system just seems like a dust and fingerprint collector requiring you, or your butler, to have to wipe it down tons of times. It doesn't make the interior look nice too, and it makes it seem too much like an A8 and not an S-class. Bentleys do a better job at integrating technology with interior style

Hmm, okay. The outside just doesn't say $110,000 to me. I think the 6th generation looked better. I like the seats EXCEPT that cross-hatching the pumpkin color of your test vehicle's leather. Rear-wheel steering is a gimmick and just ads to the complexity and the maintenance costs which have to be out of this world for this car. Okay but "meh".
I wonder when car manufactures are going to move of Piano Black? I guess when you're spending $110K+ USD you probably have butler/maid keep your car clean.
Love the exterior, but the interior is a bit too "Star Trek" for my liking. Looks like the designers have a fascination with the Apple iPad or something? Go back to the luxurious look of the 2018 and not the minimalistic Tesla style interior. Don't chase them, make them chase you. Remember you are Mercedes Benz. This car is much too nice (and too expensive) for this new boring look in my opinion. I prefer buttons over touchscreen, yes I may be a traditionalist. I admit it.
Is it me or is all this tech over done? Like this a Mercedes Benz, not an iPhone, a simple clean navigation screen with some tactile buttons and high quality finishes is all I am asking for. I may be old school but I feel all this tech is turning cars into gadgets as opposed to emotion invoking machines. Granted I love the S Class, but it almost looks cheap with all that tech and the gloss trim all over place we know for a facts is going to get scratched up and obsolutely shot

The S is the best car in the world. The tech and luxury are unmatched. I would never consider a G90. It's ugly! Sorry!. I would maybe consider a G80 but there are other cars, I'd consider over it. The Koreans provide a great value proposition for those upwardly mobile folks who don't have brand loyalty. In the end, the S will outsell the G90 even though it's 30-40k more, because no Sclass buyers will drop into a Hyundai. Nobody is dreaming of getting a G90. Stop it! Ok maybe you , but other than that? Nope!
I came here looking for a replacement to my now 8 years old Tesla, I found Mercedes copying Tesla WTF MB? I prefer the 2021 MB much more than the 2022 with those cheap screens.... at least give the 2022 S class the EQS screens, This is definitely a downgrade in luxury interior feel.

The W222 has more presence in it's stance and body lines but this W223 still is an incredible vehicle 💯

The W140 S class was the peak of S class quality. Things started going downhill when they decided to control Chrysler Corporation in the 2000's.
