I have the craziest story from one I lived with in the past. If you wanna hear it reach out and I will tell you in a pm. I will just not have my name put on the screen with the story but you are welcome to use it if you think it's what you are looking for
I've got 18 years worth of stories. My ex husband is a vet and was extremely abusive. 2 kids and 11 years in, I divorced him. Best thing I ever did. He's basically drank himself into an early grave, but still finds The Audacity. He messaged me a week ago asking me if he could move in my basement because his fiance is mean, spends all his money, and doesn't "take care" of him. (He's an invalid because of the drinking) Then, when I didn't respond, he asked if he could move into my detached garage, and proceeded to list off all the things he would do to it, to make it like a house. Including, put plumbing in and a floor. I told him that would Never happen. That every time we have lived together it has always turned unsafe for me mentally and physically. And if you have all this money to fix up a garage then he needs to find an apartment that's not in Chicago. This man hasn't paid, but a couple hundred dollars for child support, in the 9 years we've been divorced. Like, how is his situation Any of my problem?? Talk about the King of Delulu Land! Not gonna happen! Dm me for more! Love all your channels!
I'm a U.S. military retiree that now lives full-time in the Philippines. I've been here for over 16 yrs, and was also stationed here, at Clark AB, Pampanga for 6 yrs, while still active duty. I've eaten at Jollibee hundreds of times, and we use it to get "pasalubong" (take out for the family and kids at home) ALL the time! Can't beat the chicken! Not a chance! I always get the Champ burger, which is my favorite. My wife likes the palabok. And we ALWAYS get the bucket fries. There is also a KFC and McD's here as well, and we eat there on occasion. Neither one of them is as good as in the States, but they're ok. LOVE Filipino food!
A first of everything this episode, Jollibee road trip podcast episode, Joe taking the intro a second time, the emotional flashback, KEVIN HASN'T HAD JOLLIBEE EITHER, can't wait to see Joe's reaction to the spaghetti
When they opened the 1st Jollibee in Honolulu, the lines went around the block for the drive-thru. My coworker's husband went and it took 3 hrs to get to the front to order food. The traffic around the restaurant was gridlocked. But her family loved the meal. Now there are 4 locations in Hawaii.
Jollibee is a treat for us Millennial kids when we do good in school, and most of millennial kids had a Birthday Party in Jollibee... After Church - Jollibee, graduation - Jollibee, High school dates - Jollibee. That's how Jollibee was rooted to us Filipinos and got passed on to our kids now. Its not just the taste but the nostalgia and memories brought back buy eating a single Chicken Joy... The flashbacks in every bite, It does give us joy.
What reminds me of Jollibee would always be the yumburger. I do know most foreigners wouldn't rank it as high coz it's not meaty enough but imagine this; it's the end of a long day and you're ready to go home on a bus and you're contemplating whether or not you would get a Jollibee meal to-go but you ultimately decided not to. But then, on the ride home as you are almost falling asleep, that one mofo decided to eat his yumburger and the scent permeates the whole bus and now you just sitting there silently, with a single tear in your eye, regretting not buying one for yourself.
I love Nicole for saying “Don’t Benny Blanco it” cause his reaction pissed me off and was so disrespectful and he was wasn’t even apologetic for it even when it was his screwup for not eating it when he ordered and waited hours when it was sitting out getting cold before he ate and Nicole looked like she wanted to fire Anthony for finger picking 😂😂😂😂
Well, do you want people who never seen Pacquiao before to witness his sloppy performance when he's sick? Or when he's in peak condition? Yeah, that's the point he's trying to say@@moonglaive5686
@moonglaive5686 simplifying the entire thing into "haha, you're a snowflake because your mad at his reaction because he didn't like it" is such a black and white perspective It's not really just about him liking or disliking it... And for a Filipino that tries to sound reasonable, using ad hominem to call people snowflakes just for disagreeing with you is peak "I don't get consequences for what i say because I'm anonymous online" behavior Be mature here. If anything, we have every reason to interpret you as a 9 year old in their rebellious phase Also, the Wuthering Waves profile pic doesn't help but make you seem like a childish teenager/adult lol. Just noticed it. Ik ik, hypocritical for me to be using ad hominem here too, but can you blame me?
Just growing up in the South, my mom was full blown southern and dad was first generation French. So between the two cultures, it's such a family vibe with food. I show love with food. I've brought chili or ham from home and just shared with my employees. I just love to cook and I always make too much so I can share. I like feeding people. Its my joy.
As an American with farming family ties, having the chance to experience to spend time in the Philippines enough to watch an entire season of rice growing and harvesting was very special. Seeing the farmers go out to flood the fields, then to spread the seed, then to line up the rows of rice and plant the remaining seed in other plots, and to harvest it, in very tradtional ways.... If you didn't see it with your own eyes you can't appreciate why finishing your rice is so important.
The Jolly Spaghetti's initial target market was actually the Filipino kids. Hence, it's sweeter than usual & the hotdogs. Its goal is to mimic the homemade spaghetti which is served mostly during children's parties. ☺
such a fun a episode! kevin & joe's firsts in jollibee and their banter, jayka's inputs of her filipino culture and nicole's ofcourse amazing knowledge on food trivia's.
Jayka should've showed the the Filipino way in eating with the spoon ang fork... especially with the rice.... Burger Steak is basically the Filipino version of Salisbury steak
If you notice here in the Philippines, If there's a Jollibee , expect to find a mcdonalds near it. Sometimes, just in front or beside it. Try to react with some Jollibee Studios Videos here in RUclips. Specially the Valentines and mother's day special. Get ready to cry. Specially the "THE VOW" ❤ JAYKA, SO PROUD OF YOU! PINAY PRIDE! ❤PHILIPINES 🇵🇭
People in the Philippines generally ignore McDonalds if a Jollibee was next door... except for fries. McDonald's fries blow Jollibee fries out of the water.
Jollibee as a brand is so strong because it isn't just food, it's nostalgia. There's so many memories tied into it. Every kid wanted a Jollibee birthday party. They always wanted it for pasalubong. It's the first thing balikbayans want when they come back home.
Joe... I feel ya. I had never heard of Jollibee until I started watching React. I've also never noticed one, and I work in Filipinotown and see there is one near my job!
They point out that Jollibee is catering parties for kids because their menu represents a simple birthday meal here in the Philippines. In the 80's and 90's a birthday meal usually have a fried dish and noodle dish. The noodle dish would be either pancit or spaghetti while fried chicken is more common since it is economical and lumpia is more of a side dish part. This is base as a Filipino myself.
For Filipino kids, Jollibee is a luxury. It's for special occassions, birthdays, after graduations, important family events, etc. When those kids grow up, it becomes their comfort food. Because of childhood nostalgia, it became our comfort food during stressful times in our lives. Yes, it's just a fast food company but it has been ingrained to our culture since we were young. 🖤
I dont think Joe is annoying like other's say, Its maybe because his humor isnt everyones cup of tea cause personally i find him funny (Filipino here btw)
As a Jolly Kid who were once an avid viewer of Jollitown back in 2008 and followed them when they switched networks and went back eventually, and now I'm "somehow" part of Jollibee now where they use Jollitown as a theme for their Birthday Parties and large-scale convention for Kids. It's making me proud that this television show that ended a decade ago is started to be known by foreigners. That makes me so happy and jolly!
Thank you guys for loving Jollibee.....Nicole you truly are true to your words. You're not a hyper but loves Filipino food and Jollibee. We do appreciate that
Actually, as an 80s baby, Jollibee makes for nostalgia! Also, fun fact: there was a 'scandal' that the Yumburger was made out of cultured worms. They obviously never were. My go-to order is the chicken and spaghetti meal because they remind me of parties here in the PH. My 2nd go-to is the jolly hotdog meal with large fries and iced coffee. We have iced coffee here at Jollibee. Nothing like coffee with baristas or whatever out there but still good for working at night.
the family culture in the Philippines is like a double edges sword 😅 toxic family members, gossip, slander or even fight to the death due to inheritance and some silly things 😂
Absolutly the best podcast from ReactCast. Very informative, very personal in some way. And Jayka really sparcled in this. A true tour to the Phillipines. Big shout out to you Jayka, thanks.
Thats a fair assesment of the Yum is fair and accurate. I'm filipino. I agree, but sometimes I crave that type of burger, it really taste different from Mcdonald's, Wendy's, Burger King etc
Joe’s Dave Grohl phase is amazing and I’m all about it. Also, as an OG SourceFed fan, I blame myself, a Filipino American, for not making Jollibee a thing for the SourceFed crew. Also, teaching Joe “Putangina mo” is hilarious. 🇵🇭🫡 Also, To Jayka: Mahal kita. ❤️😊👍🏽
1. The Yumburger has always been a bad choice. The Aloha Burger is the way to go. 2. The spaghetti at the original ice cream house was actually the first hit food item. 3. We don't have chicken fingers and adobo rice in the Philippine Jollibee restaurants. 4. Mickey D's fries are much better than Jollibee fries. 5. Jollibee's burger steak is a low-tier Salisbury or Hamburg steak. 6. The Filipinos appropriated halo-halo from Japanese immigrants who came to the Philippines in the 1920s. Halo-halo is based on the Japanese shaved ice snack called "kakigori". I don't understand the hate Joe is getting. He wasn't rude at all. I think the Filipinos reacting to this just don't understand the way Americans talk or didn't watch the whole thing.
As a filipino and a long time viewer of react since jayka was so little, I love this episode Their reaction is so perfect. This would have been perfect if Izzy was included. ❤❤❤
My go-to is a Chickenjoy-Palabok combo! So good!!!! As far as the Peach-Mango pie, I really love the crust - reminds me of old school McDonald’s Pie, when they used fry the crust versus the baked crust that they put on the Apple Pies now. But all of it is still so delicious!
I love watching this video. I hope you can let Joe try Filipino Cuisine and let’s see his reaction to our Filipino foods. ❤ Watching all the from the Philippines. ❤️😍
Jollibee has officially become the number one fast food chain for fried chicken in the United States, surpassing competitors in popularity and sales. This milestone highlights the brand's growing influence in the American fast food market.
I don't go to a jollibee all that often, but the Aloha is what I do like from there the best. I have a local Filipino place here in Houston called Flip'n Patties that is my favorite place to eat. My go to is a Chicken PuPu with garlic rice and man is it good. I have yet to have something from there that isn't divine
We filipinos can distinghished Jollibee chicken joy even if our eyes are tied with hankie. Put all chickens from all different restaurant and we still know which is Jolliibee chicken joy first with smell and second with taste
The reason why we love Jollibee like that is like what Jayka said it's culture. And it's something that like years ago if you have Jollibee its fancy, you got a medal in School? We gonna take you to Jollibee to celebrate. It brings family together. It's something that's ours we've been colonize and most fastfood we have is from another country but Jollibee is of our own.
I don't know if Joe there is some kind of racist or has a blind bias *at first* but either way that is disrespectful; and I'm pretty sure he offended a good number of people who watched this, Filipinos or not. He got on the wrong foot as they say But it's alright the rest of the vid, though. Joe opened up to it and he believes now. And I'm also pretty sure that corporate people in McDonald's are cursing at Jollibee's success everytime
The Champ Burger has tomatoes and lettuce, BUT it has some variants like the Aloha Champ (With Pineapple) and the Cheesy Bacon Champ. There's also the DISCONTINUED item sadly (One of my favorites) , called "The ULTIMATE Burger Steak" instead of the normal burger, replaced with the CHAMP patty with fries underneath, plenty of mushroom gravy, fried garlic bits with a Sunnyside up eggs and white ricee.
I love how they provide background and history for Jollibee and its foods other than just eating and reacting. I appreciate their honest and respectful reactions to it too.
Now see, episodes like this are awesome. Seeing the crew go to the places they talk about, and then actually taste and react to the thing they talk about - awesome. And come on, Joe is amaze and his hair just gets better and better it seems :D
Its a REACT field trip, vlog. This was fun to see . Do more outside of the studio if possible. Like maybe highlight a few reactors each couple of weeks vloggin what it's like to be a reactor. Maybe getting ready, driving into work, and then their typical day in the studio and what goes on behind the scenes.
Y'all are hilarious. I loved everyone's quirks and personalities 😊 I totally agree with the Yum burger. I remember liking it as a kid but trying it as an adult, I just felt sad and depressed lol The Aloha burger is my preferred though, if I ever wanna change it up, as I tend to always order spicy Chickenjoy.
IMO, it went downhill for the Yumburger when they combined the mayo and ketchup into a singular slop of "pink sauce" back in the mid-late 90s. It was already a pretty anemic burger before that and its only saving grace was the taste of the burger patty itself. The Champ is great, though.
Joe is so unhinged and I love him for it. I wanna try Jollibee so bad and I will soon. I want that peach mango pie. I know that is going to be super good. I wanna try the rice, the burger with pineapple (team pineapple on pizza), the chicken joy of course and the fiesta pasta.
I would love for Jollibee to bring back the platter of fries with different sauces. Its a dish that brings me comfort when I was sick during my childhood.
I NEVER had Jolliebee neither. Then again I’m from NYC. It’s like 2 and I’m not urging to have it but my 15 year old loves it. I wish I can be a part of the react cast. This look like such a fun job I can enjoy!

My go to is a Chicken PuPu with garlic rice and man is it good. I have yet to have something from there that isn't divine
Idk what you all are talking about. The guy with the long hair is fucking hilarious ROFL
I think a good next segment would be with reactors: try to react on Jolibee commercials and see their reactions and thoughts of the moral stories 😊
Jollihotdog is the nostalgia Jollibee food for me. Also Aloha Burger used to be seasonal only and would just order it everytime it comes on.
Jayka’s “putang ina mo” comes with so much sass. 💁♀️ 😂 it had me rolling.
We filipinos can distinghished Jollibee chicken joy even if our eyes are tied with hankie. Put all chickens from all different restaurant and we still know which is Jolliibee chicken joy first with smell and second with taste
i love the honesty from joe..
thanks for your true assessment man..
My go-to for Jollibee is the Palabok & Chickenjoy combo. It’s like a guilty pleasure for me
I don't know if Joe there is some kind of racist or has a blind bias *at first* but either way that is disrespectful; and I'm pretty sure he offended a good number of people who watched this, Filipinos or not. He got on the wrong foot as they say
But it's alright the rest of the vid, though.
I have never had Jollibee. But this makes me want to try it. There is a Jollibee in North Texas.
I love how they provide background and history for Jollibee and its foods other than just eating and reacting. I appreciate their honest and respectful reactions to it too.
hahhahahahah the way they say "putangina mo" 😂 luv u guys
Now see, episodes like this are awesome. Seeing the crew go to the places they talk about, and then actually taste and react to the thing they talk about - awesome. And come on, Joe is amaze and his hair just gets better and better it seems :D
I love Joe's denialism🤣
Finally!!! Proud 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭 here
traditionally the palabok sauce is made with shrimp shells (head imcluded) and the color is from annato seeds
Jayka is just munching every time. I would too tho. Haha
I would love for Jollibee to bring back the platter of fries with different sauces. Its a dish that brings me comfort when I was sick during my childhood.
They taught Jollibee is copying Mcdo all the times. But Mcdo made chicken and spaghetti here in the PH just to compete with Jollibee 😆
Not taught it's thought
LOL Joe telling placky to go to hell for saying it's just rice.
Don't worry Joe, we didn't heard about you until now. :)
"salamat..POW" so freaking wholesome xd
I wish we have adobo rice in Jollibee here in the PH 🥺
joe saying p*tangina mow just made my day.
been a fan of him since source-fed days.
I NEVER had Jolliebee neither. Then again I’m from NYC. It’s like 2 and I’m not urging to have it but my 15 year old loves it. I wish I can be a part of the react cast. This look like such a fun job I can enjoy!
I'm from Long Island and the nearest Jollibee is in NYC. Never been to one because of that.
