Nice I love that korg gets technology out to everyone, I used to have an oasys but these days I have to have fun rocking the micros. I love how Korg adapts and produces great gear no matter what your price level.
thanks! I have high hopes for this keyboard in the future... we recorded a few very unique jams after this demo - it's a "new type of device" for live improv. It's obviously good for hip hop / beatboxing, but will also be used for ambient looping, IDM glitch, experimental, msuic concrete or whatever.
Thanks! The Micro Sampler is NEW, but they've had others for a while. (My Red 5 groovebox, ESX-1 is a sampler.) There's also the MicroKorg XL which my brother has (see MiloCantos on YT) - what style of playing you most want to do will reveal which is the best keyboard for you! Ask me at CK, and / or visit my Sponsor ;-), NoiseBug music store in Pomona (beside the dA gallery) and TRY them out for yourself! Tell them I sent you.
@dicefall9 Yes, it does timestretching if you want it to (aka keeping tempo but changing pitch, or vice versa! as Ableton Live) I say go to your local Sam Ash or Guitar center and try it out, see if you like it! After watching a bunch of these videos to learn how to use it....
Keith flint mate legend. Reason I asked mate and thanks for the reply. I still have a micro sampler brand new in the box but never used it, I do have other gear I use regularly but just never got around to using my korg micro sampler. So was wondering whether to sell it on and but something more modern or actually start using it as it’s a shame to be sat boxed away.
@@buffalorevolver6473 I'd say sell it, still in box could be "rare"? The question about any gear is: what do you want to do with it? and is it suited to that goal
@@VJFranzK yep I was thinking the same to be honest, I’m looking at starting to use samples more hence why I dug it out of storage but lead me to think there’s probably a lot better ones now out there which I could maybe purchase with the sale of my micro sampler 🤘🏼
Try it, but - Unless you can play piano keys and guitar strings at the same time, you may have trouble! For really advanced guitar looping ( as the guitarist in my band "The Great Pyramids" does ) you may want to get a laptop with software such as Ableton Live and a USB or MIDI pedal controller to run it while playing.
I don't deal with acoustic instruments very much. ;-) The sampling quality is very good, if it sounds good to you, then it IS good. Note that for more "realistic" sounding instruments, you will need to "multisample" which means grabbing notes of multiple pitches (and even volumes?) to really represent the sonic character of an acoustic instrument.
For your purposes, you want a "Guitar Looper" instead. ( 32 bars is also quite long? So be sure to check the stats of your particular device. This machine is more intended for Hip Hop, Techno, Electro... gotta go

A really good unboxing and a very thorough review. Thanks for posting this!
Yes, there is a selectable effect bus. You can also "resample" anything you play ( with fx ), or export and edit your .wavs in a separate editor.

@poshi12
YES! If you have a midi-in device for your computer
it has a USB, but I guess? that's just for loading / backing up the samples
Thanks!
