The beginning and parts of the instrumental very much remind me of "Land of Confusion" but then kicked into a cover of it by Nightwish/Within Temptation - it's glorious. I've liked your originals before (even the very old ones) but this one, I think you really out did yourself.
This song sounds like it needs to be used for a boss fight in a video game. Amazing song. Jonathan's voice is like that raspy V8 muscle car and then caleb comes in with the range of a formula 1 V10... his range and clarity is nuts...
THIS SONG IS TOO SHORT! It needs something after the 2nd chorus! This song is waaaaaaay too good to be only 3:30, especially with those tasty higher harmonies Caleb was nailing, plus the huge meaning behind the song in the first place... I love love LOVE this song so much, and I think that with a bridge leading into a final chorus, or hell, maybe even a quiet chorus repeat into another full chorus, would elevate this song to an even higher level. I mean, it's your song Jonathan (and what a song it is! I've still got adrenaline pumping through me as I'm typing this,) take my opinion for what it's worth. But damn man, regardless of anything, you are AWESOME at song writing! I haven't heard an original from you yet that I though "eh, that was mediocre." All of them have been spectacular! Keep it up, man! - From a long time subscriber and a nobody musician

Jonathan and Caleb's voice go together like peanut butter and jelly. Alone they are great singers, but together they make an amazing choir. 10/10 would listen again; I think they've really discovered something special here.
For a modern original, this is oddly nostalgic somehow. The kind of music I never "grew out of," maybe. Awesome song and a fine example of why I'm always excited to see a Jonathan Young original.

As a Linkin Park Fan myself not even close to be honest, it's a good song don't get me wrong but it doesn't have that LP Charm when it comes to the sounds & voices.
I can see where you're coming from
But it isn't a comparison most will like with Chester being the godly singer he was
Yes the tempo reminded me of it actually, something about the pacing of the chorus specifically
Was literally going to the comments to see if anyone thought the same.
Some melodic motifs definitely got me thinking that. But then it goes somewhere completely different.
Tbh, the originals Jonathan Young makes are his best creations, and their all I listen too anymore. Keep this up man! You deserve more then to be stuck doing covers all your life
I was playing this song the other day and my dad straight up thought it was Phil Collins. Thought someone might enjoy that bit of information.
Most people finishing a recording binge early would kick back and relax. You two went and recorded another song. THAT is dedication the craft.
We gonna need a 10 hour version before that replay button files a restraining order.
Too late, I'm afraid, you're not to go within a mile of him
And nightcore
you do know that on PC/Laptop you can right click the window of the song and put it on loop :D
Thank you. Both of you. I've been really depressed and in a funk lately because of how this world is. But hearing this song, it's obvious you understand exactly what I mean. I've been listening to this song on repeat because it's so cathartic. It gives voice to all the outrage and anger I've been feeling. Thank you. I really needed this.
Ohhh boi. Ready for another bop
It's fun to see John spinning a drum stick at the beginning.
I can’t wait till the day that John and Caleb release an album together. You have my word I will snap it up like I snapped up Nate’s sandcastle kingdoms.
A few seconds in and I'm already loving it!
This music has such a "I'm a villain," vibe. This is so cool.
But like villain with good intentions tho
If villains had montages in movies it would be to this cover
@@joek3023
It's actually an original song tho...
@@cruzjohnalexandert.2254 sick, didnt know. Even better!
Nothing about this reads as villainy to me. It just sounds like the bitter truth.
I love seeing all the life in Jon's eyes when he's singing an original song.
If this isn't THE song of our generation, I will feed someone my hat. Excellent work as always!
As much as I enjoy your covers, please more originals.
Love the songs message deep and unifying. All the young should be like this song we should make our voices heard. Best original song yet but I do love all your original songs keep them coming.
The message resonates with me really hard. Both as a son and as a father. It's a good chorus to help me resolve to be better.
you really think phone addicted zoomers will do anything?
57 seconds from release and theres already 108 likes lol. jon really be that good
Bro your mixing on this is awesome! The instrumental is clear and crisp while not overshadowing your vocals. Keep it up!
It’s Jonathan and Caleb how could I not like it?
I'm feeling it. Like "Land of Confusion" meets Linkin Park meets... something else (I guess that's you!). Very nice.
Ooo original song!!! Love what I'm hearing so far 👀
an original song! jon has his soul back! i've missed these videos where he shows all the instruments
Ya'll should do Beast in Black type stuff, maybe cover one of their songs?
*Their band started as a Berserk fan band*
Yeah, BiB is pretty cool.
Let me tell you, I haven't had goosebumps and light tears for a song in a very long time. I appreciate it Mr. Young and Mr. Hyles.
I could see this as a final battle song on a anime 😍😍
This sounds like a perfect fusion of Green day style lyrics and Linkin Park style instrumentals and singing style ( I know Chester was a God amongst men and no-one will replicate his mastery).
I have a new favourite song. Well done man. Great name too! :)
"Every man's island, Jean Louise, every man's watchman, is his conscience."
-Harper Lee, *Go Set A Watchman*
The Boys are back in town, It awesome to see my boi back at it again! Well done.
This hits even harder in 2024
This isn't just a song folks. Everything said in this song unfortunately is true..
Here we go baby!
I'm sure I speak for all of us when I say- ended far too soon :) Gonna be listening to this on loop
Everything about this is just so yes! The music is unique and reminiscent of 80's power metal and I love it so much!
The changes to those clean high notes gave me goosebumps
never has something done just for fun sounded so epic and cool
The lyrics really made me cry like wow I felt this in my soul
Yo... I didn't know I needed this in my life until I got it. Excuse me, I'm gonna be playing this on repeat till the lyrics engrave themselves into my subconscious, wish me luck!
Me:*sees he made an original song* Well this will be good.
Me:*listening to the beginning of the song* This seems nice!
Me: *listens to the rest of the song* YES! THANK YOU GOD!
Jonathan and Caleb together... *Chef kiss*
Seriously why am I only listening to more of y'all's originals now damn RUclips algorithm this slaps!
The beginning and parts of the instrumental very much remind me of "Land of Confusion" but then kicked into a cover of it by Nightwish/Within Temptation - it's glorious.
I've liked your originals before (even the very old ones) but this one, I think you really out did yourself.
This was so amazing. I really like it when you and Caleb Hyles perform together
Like the vocals, like intruments, like the vibe, like the message.
This is fantastic, thank you for blessing us today.
My favourite one yet!
This is a goddamn masterpiece. I love your original songs!
It's been a week and I can honestly say I have listened to this multiple times every day because I just love it. It makes me want to run and dance and move.
Also Can we appreciate how beautiful Jonathan's hair is for a moment?
Jonathan and Caleb's voice go together like peanut butter and jelly. Alone they are great singers, but together they make an amazing choir. 10/10 would listen again; I think they've really discovered something special here.
God damn this song played at just the right time for me, this really hits hard for the times we’re currently living in
Woah... This is amazing. The production? Great. The Lyrics? Great. Jon and Caleb? Great.
For a modern original, this is oddly nostalgic somehow. The kind of music I never "grew out of," maybe.
Awesome song and a fine example of why I'm always excited to see a Jonathan Young original.
I can't get enough of this song!!! Gentlemen you both did a fabulous job! Johnathon your skills as a singer and musician are amazing !! Caleb this vocal performance of yours is probably my fav and one of your best to date! Lyrics are so fitting! Well done guys! Seriously!!!
I Really wish that RUclips pushed original songs more, because this is one of the best songs I've heard in a while and it's from 2 years ago
This sounds like a song that would play in an 80s movie. I love it.
