About AVATAR:
On the lush alien world of Pandora live the Na'vi, beings who appear primitive but are highly evolved. Because the planet's environment is poisonous, human/Na'vi hybrids, called Avatars, must link to human minds to allow for free movement on Pandora. Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), a paralyzed former Marine, becomes mobile again through one such Avatar and falls in love with a Na'vi woman (Zoe Saldana). As a bond with her grows, he is drawn into a battle for the survival of her world.

4:34 I'm speechless...how beautiful is this shot from two perspectives, when Jake Sully maneuvers the Turuk
It's Toruk,not Turuk
The music was also very wonderful
I love this moment too
Don’t care what anyone says, avatar is a great film, not some perfectly written masterpiece for the nerds it’s just a fun beautiful film with a good interesting message, great action and setting as well as some under appreciated characters. And that’s absolutely perfect.
i have always loved avatar and refuse to betray it like some others who wanted to jump on the bandwagon. i see some that used to hate on it love it now that the new one is out. it doesn’t really upset me, im glad the franchise is getting the attention it deserves. this movie just means a lot to me lol
That's exactly why it's #1 in the box office
Haters are always marvel fangirls
@@itsmark430 no their just nerds in general
Completely agree with y’all that people don’t like to look within deep and refuse to realize that it does have a great story, people just say it’s generic and same thing about the 2nd.
It is definitely not a generic story and in the 2nd movie it’s all about love, compassion and what it truly means to protect your family.
As great as The Way of Water is, the battle scenes have nothing on this. This is the most epic and powerful sci-fi fantasy battle since the original Star Wars trilogy
I want to amend what I said. After the more personal battle in The Way of Water, I have a greater appreciation for the epicness of this battle.
Since I wrote the OP, I've realized that Cameron intentionally made the fight in The Way of Water far more deep and personal. Its like what Lucas did with The Empire Strikes Back.
The AMP suit fight between Jake and Quaritch feels even more bad a**, and I loved it the first time I saw it in theaters. Unlike the first lightsaber duel between Vader and Obi Wan, you cant ask for a better supernatural fight than Jake and Quaritch in his AMP suit.
I cant wait to see what Cameron comes up with for the 3rd movie.
Totally agree
@@LukeLovesRoseyou need to see the cut directors version of the way of water battle first it explains why the metikayina weren’t there and it’s way more hard core
@@Lunabell-x6j oh trust me, I have seen those scenes and I agree. Neytiris scene was totally hardcore
You have a short memory then. Prequel Star Wars trilogy was way more epic.
Debatable tho which looks worse. The Star Wars Prequel CGI or this one. looked shyte back then, looks shyte today. And its a full retard politizised movie. Dont do full CGI movies when you dont have the graphics for it.
Is it just me who gets crazy goosebumps at 4:18
James Horner man, James Horner...
YEAH, GET SOME
I got them from 03:02 until the end
2:48 I get them starting here
@@WJstudios04 😂😂😂😂😂
2:55 The scene where the guy screams and immediately at the next scene, the Turuk' lets out a haunting scream. WOW! James Horner's score is also giving goosebumps at that scene. Jake's scream comes next, this is where the real fun begins!
Love that detail!
Something about the line at 4:16 and the soundtrack and the shots that follow give me such goosebumps
i literally watch this scene just for that part. I remember seeing it in the theater and thinking “okay here we go”
Wayyy back when the movie came out I was watching with my dad after he rented it from Redbox and it was at that moment when he paused it and sent me to bed, good times
HUMANITY
I always come back for this moment brothers
Me too
Avatar 1: quaritch "break formation engage all hostiles" - goosebumps!
Avatar 2: whaling guy "sOmEboDy sHoOt soMeThiNg" - bruh
I want Avatar 3 to have something more akin to this battle. It was so epic!!
lol they were whalers, what more could you really expect from a guy like that lol
@@Afineaddition we might get a fight between navi and navi in the next one since they are bringing in a new clan that’s apparently hostile. but im sure we will get an all out war with rda again soon enough
@Jarrod Graham it wasn’t random they literally stated in the movie that they left to draw attention away from the forest clan in order to protect them and to protect his family. either way you’re entitled to feel however you way you do about the movie but dont go trying to say the plot just happened randomly when the movie tells you all you need to know lol

3:40 jake really likes this move cause he does it in both movies
yesssssss
11 year old me in the theater remembers grinning ear to ear at 3:56 when the Na'vi ambushed the RDA Squadron. The good guys had successfully ambushed the bad guys and all was well. Then that AMP Suit revved up its 30mm cannon at 4:07... My heart skipped about 3 beats not just from how f***ing loud it was, but from the realization that the Na'vi cavalry were about to get slaughtered and this was going to be a maelstrom of violence and utter chaos...
Oh yeah that RDA firing line and the sounds of overwhelming gunfire hit differently. It's a masterclass in direction and writing from James Cameron. He had to brutally remind the audience that this is a "machine guns and mechs VS bows and animals" kinda fight.
7 year old me knowing dang well the RDA are the bad guys but cheering em on anyways bc “For humanity!”🤣
It’s not like that. The director demonizes technological progress and advance, and glorifies tribalism. Humanity is portrayed as the evil colonizers, and the Na’vi as peaceful wholesome beings who live in harmony with nature. The problem is not that. The problem is that he makes humanity 100% bad and the Na’vi 100% good.
It’s never like that. It’s possible to have both at once. Not only that, but this movie, it all about plot armor. Nothing sensitive le: Jet fighters, grenades, bombs, backup in the case the main force is squadroned. Heck, that “two pronged” approach should;be been “four pronged.” That is, two attacks form different directions.
It’s all dumb. The RDA weren’t the bad guys. The colonel wasn’t evil. It’s all part of the Filmmaker’s agenda. All part of it.
Look, I’m one for nature. But the problem I have with this film is how they potrey the theme. I get that he’s trying to show this: humanity destroyed their own planet, now their coming for someone else’s (well, it’s a moon). But that’s perhaps one of the most nonsensical ways of doing it.
0:53 most badass scene in the movie
3:40 rage of a worrier willing to sacrifice everything for the greater good
It’s the most dangerous thing ever even us as humans have this
AVATAR : One of the best movies to be ever done in history!!!
FUCK YEAH. BETTER THAN ENDGAME
Agree
I will truly love this movie till the end of time! Flawless special effects, amazing cinematography, simple story, good performances, and great action is what makes this movie special to me :)
Come on ahahahahahaha you cant be serious
@@antoniovuolo4099 I am serious, and don’t call me, “ahahahahahaha”
James Horner's music for Avatar was incredible. Horner's blend of orchestra, choir, and synthesizers was fantastic, and his ability to tell the story musically is why he was regarded as a top-tier composer.
2:20 im a sucker for calvary and with the music and war cries thats a bad ass scene
Avatar 1 would ALWAYS be in my heart
How’d you feel about 2?
@@tristanbellamy382 The 1st one is 9,5/10 for me and the 2nd one is like 6/10 if we don't consider to much the amazing look of it. On this one, the music is disappointing, there is too much characters so we couldn't concentrate enough on them, the story is less interesting and they prefered to bring back from death the bad man (plus who seems less charismatic than he was before). As a really big fan of this universe and of the first movie (it's my second favorite movie of all time), I fill really disappointed of the result of the second, I think they could have done better with that amount of time, money and means they had. Or maybe I asked too much from them ? I don't know. I still like to debate about that. What do you think ?
@@tomsm06 I actually agree heavily with you. I’m nineteen. I seen avatar 1 when I was five and understood it perfectly at my age. I watched it for years over and over. The magic of the first one is a whole other feeling. While the second one has great visuals, there were many turn offs from me story wise that couldn’t get anything out of me. Quaritch was lazily written in this one and like you said “less charismatic” which is interesting because there are people who swear they flushed his character out and expanded him this go around. I don’t believe so. His reason for being alive is weird and doesn’t make since to me. It’s also skimmed over sorta by Jake and Neytiri. Do they just think he’s an avatar since they never heard of the term recom? I didn’t care too much about Spider. Even the movie War for planet of the apes put more emphasis on Nova than they did Spider in avatar. Spider’s role between a human and na’vi world should have been much more impactful. Also, certain scenes with spider fell flat and dry. I wasn’t too convinced by him. Quaritch and spider’s time together felt like a week compared to months. I was completely confused at the end on why Quaritch was saved by him until I realized they spent a month together and it wasn’t exactly noticeable for me. I didn’t like Jake’s decision to leave. It completely destroys his character from the first one and the work he’s established. He’s not a coward. Jake is a marine at heart. You can’t strip that from him. He’s fought in several wars on earth and pandora. You would already think that he knew running away isn’t a good option. I didn’t like Lo’ak at first but overtime he became my favorite. Neteyam is fine but I am either sort of desensitized or I just didn’t get enough of him during his death. I think my sadness came from Zoë’s acting the most instead of just the character neteyam being dead. There were too many kids. It’s the 2nd movie and they have a whole mini van of kids. Kiri isn’t interesting to me that much. She’s sort of like a walking cheat code in my opinion. It sort of feels weird to see supernatural powers in avatar. I’d rather see the power of the world instead of a Jesus figure. I love Quaritch’s character better in 1. In 2 he doesn’t stand on anything, gets his ass kicked, and is sort of too passive for me. I didn’t feel threatened by him at all. Neytiri played the background for my liking too much. Leaving home was a little stupid. Mo’at was left behind. It makes sense, but it doesn’t. I wouldn’t leave home like that especially when eytukan died to protect it. I feel like eytukan rolled in his grave when Jake suggested leaving. They literally raided a train full of weapons. They could have protected themselves. It’s not about causing an all out war, but it’s about defending yourself when Quaritch’s group shows up. As opposed to learning how to live in another territory and getting another clan killed .. staying would have been the better option. The forest is heavily guarded and they put emphasis on that. Not even the forest but the cave system Jake set up could have did a good job in protection. Jake’s character felt like a dick. “You brought shame to this family” is a really stupid line given the circumstance. I don’t want to hear “they were in an invasion” Jake dealt with the humans in avatar 1 at the end and wasn’t that stuck up. The only new character I liked was Ronal. Tonowari was okay but none of the reef people helped at the end. I never understood that. You can say for the sake of the movie they just wanted Jake’s family involved since it’s personal but it’s personal for the reef people who lost their tulkun. For avatar 1 there’s very little to find wrong and with 2 i can find a lot I don’t agree with even though I still thoroughly enjoy the film.
@@tristanbellamy382 I'm really delighted to learn that you also found a lot (too many) negative points about this second film. When you wrote your first comment, I was afraid it would be the other way around, because there seem to be a lot of people who think it's as spectacular a film as the first (I really don't understand them).
I'm also quite young, I'm 22 and I watched Avatar 1 when it came out, when I was in elementary school. I found it really fantastic and whether it was the fauna, the flora, the characters, the story, I just said to myself that it was a masterpiece and that I would want to live on a planet like that. as Na'vi.
But then, we waited a very long time to see the second film released, with the promise that there would be three more that would follow (I'm afraid, lol) and it was really disappointing.
Honestly, I discovered the soundtrack of the film before even going to see it in the cinema and I, who was really sensitive to that of the first film, I immediately knew that it was going to be less good. The music didn't seem interesting (and it didn't surprise me when after some research I learned that the composer at the time had died between the two films).
I found that we didn't concentrate enough on each character (although the film is very long...), the time was a little poorly managed, yes, but as you also said, there is too many children and we can't keep up with everyone. So either in the end we find ourselves skimming over each of them without dwelling too much on them, or we give importance to some and the others well... we leave them aside (: In short, it's a bit like what happened with Neteyam unfortunately and his death probably didn't affect many people in the public since we knew almost nothing about him and he hardly spoke! He was just the nice big guy brother who was to die in the end.
I'm happy that Sigourney Weaver was selected to play the role of Kiri (a character that I really like because I think we are similar in a way) and I even think that she played her role as a teenager well ... except that her seventy-year-old voice (she is 74, the brave lady) does not correspond at all to the character's physique and resembles bad voice-over casting.
Then, as you say, Kiri looks like a cheat code because she is directly connected to Eywa and has powers... it almost feels like Stranger Things. In fact I find it cool that she was born at the same time as Neteyam, except that for me, they burned the idea of the super-powered "chosen one" way too quickly, knowing that she is certainly super strong and we still have 3 films left.
I found that Neytiri had a rather poorly explained hatred against Spider. Yes, ok, she doesn't like humans, but here we are dealing with a young person who grew up alongside them and who wants to be part of the clan. Then again, she’s still the one dating one of them, Jake himself! So she should be the one who accepts him the most in my opinion, or at least better than that.
The character of Spider wasn't important enough to me. Well, we won't talk about the fact that he shows up out of nowhere since this baby or the villain's romance was never mentioned in the first film... But the guy is still the link between the Na'Vi and humans , besides being the son of the bad guy, we should talk about him more! (and as you say so well, it seems like he becomes friends with humans in a few days, because we don't see that it's months that pass). In fact, I come back to what I said in relation to Kiri, they should have focused first on Spider in my opinion, then on her, because there are just too many little stories at the same time and we don't can't follow everything in one movie; It’s a bit like concentrating an entire series into a 3-hour film.
Then there's Jake, who I adored in 1, despite the fact that he's a bit of a simpleton on duty at times x) In 2 he just became a stupid military father who only gives lessons and educate his children like in the army, even though by becoming a member of the Na'Vi he had to somewhat abandon this human part of him (the Na'Vi are not themselves savages who kill everyone) . In short, I didn't really understand, it just didn't fit and we could have done without it. So I started to no longer appreciate it very much.
Apart from the fact that we added a good number of new characters, we completely abandoned the old ones, who are still alive (I'm talking about Norman and Max, who really have a minor role and who disappointed me a little, I have to admit it).
Jake's choice to leave (or run away) was truly ridiculous and out of character. First of all, Jake is a stubborn, loyal fighter who
Then, he knew full well that the bad guys would decide to attack the Na'Vi in order to search for them, leaving like that and abandoning his people was not only cowardly of him but on top of that, it made him detestable in my eyes, because Na'Vi risked dying or being tortured stupidly because of him. And then they were all counting on him, on the guy who had conquered Toruk, he was like the chosen one.
Then he could very well have defended himself, like in the first film, by using the Toruk and once again bringing the people together against the enemy... well, I don't know, that seems logical to me.
ON TOP OF THAT, by joining another clan, he only moved the problems to another place, endangering another people who really didn't ask for anything!! And of course Neytiri or the kids never pointed out to him that he was making absurd shitty decisions! Is beyond me. Not to mention all the other clans who were mistreated by the bad guys, who were obviously tracking Jake. Anyway, the character (and the writers) are idiots.
As you also mentioned and what amazes me the most, is the absence of the Metkayina people during the final battle. Or at least, we see them launch the attack with Jake and Neytiri... but they disappear right after, like we're leaving you to your fate lol, wtf. How could they forget to place them in the script and scenes??
I was very disappointed with the final fight, which was nowhere near as epic as the one in the first film. I don't understand, like, there were more resources, more budget, more time and we don't have the right to something decent. The whole thing stinks of defeat! (I hate it xD)
Children also make stupid decisions and are never supervised, even when they are punished. They constantly put themselves in danger, as if they had no survival instinct, even though they are not that young (and of course the little sister is always with them, where there is the most danger. are really irresponsible and I think the movie didn't need that to create the plot. And their stupidity always leads to them getting captured and forcing those around them to put themselves in danger (no matter how big it is), They never learn from their mistakes and it's saddening. Even the kid, Tuk, who said she was constantly being captured made me let out a laugh, because even her character seemed to be shouting about how ridiculous it was that We always arrive at the same point, because we only go in circles, with a certain number of unnecessary scenes which only lengthen the film without giving it more presence.
And then there is the rejection and unfounded hatred of Payakan, who had pieces of weapons planted in his body but who was accused of betraying his clan and killing his peers?? Really, I found it ridiculous, like no one thinks.
Also, there was the last scene that made me sigh with disappointment and indignation. It's a little ridiculous, but when the shot of Jake opening his eyes, like in the first film, came, that's when I said to myself that we were blatantly screwing our faces and that this film was clearly not worth the first, that we had spent more than ten years waiting for it and that they dared to release the same thing less well, less juicy... In short, I'm afraid for the suite and I'm almost ready to illegally watch the next films in Streaming on the internet rather than paying for a cinema ticket, if it's that bad, me who follows so much as a basic fan. In fact, I find The Way of Water to be an insult to the first film.
I don't know if this interests you, but I wrote a much bigger review on Allociné (I was quite unhappy xD) and I found a very interesting review video on this second film, which made me laugh . I can share them with you if you want?
Nice to have met you and sorry for this huge text x)

4:16 Colonel Quaritch: break formation engage all hostiles
Masterpiece
For the Emperor
Honestly pretty good idea to break formation cause they were getting clapped
Way of water was good but nothing compared to this first film. It was a masterpiece from beginning to end with you on your edge of your seat wondering what’s gonna happen next.
1:03 Valkyrie Shuttle is unloading the troops
Epic
From a tactics perspective, it seems like the smarter move for the aerial forces would have been to use the element of surprise to charge and overwhelm the command ship and dropship. As for the ground forces, not sure why they charged head on into a firing line. A way smarter tactic would have been to hide in the trees above and fire on the ground forces.
The only reason I can think of is that thermal would have seen them in the trees.
0:21 fav scene

just finished watching avatar 2, came back to this masterpiece to see the visual difference, and damn for a movie that came out in 2009 it blew the recent marvel movies out of the water. The cgi of this movie is still insane even now in 2023, and avatar 2 just made an insane visual improvement, especially in the small details like textures, clothing, etc. 10/10 for both films from me

Humans are clever enough to figure out how to travel millions of miles to go on a dangerous space safari, only to get the ultimate lesson in "mess around with nature and find out". 😄
This is just some film bullsh*it, irl the Navi can't stand a chance and the reason they winning because they have humans on their side
@@ThunderRods7-gz1jo Always fun when the average internet commenter tries to weigh in. I never said anything about the Na'vi winning the fight. It’s plot armor lol. Nature can easily be burned if humanity uses the right objects for the job. The RDA is smart enough to not destroy Pandora as it has resources the earth needs

Your all going to be mad at me but yes I know its a movie but wouldn't the humans win because we have had more combat experience, but we would have a great number of casualties because in the first movie the colonel says they have bones reinforced with natural carbon fiber and they are extremely hard to kill because by then (2172-3) we would have technology really good and our weapons would be able to kill them with a few shots because with modern weapons your able to kill a human with a couple of shots by that time we would be able to kill them with a few shots too.

Hola
4:07
So this is Dances with wolves.
Not really. Many people say this is a sci fi parallel to the European invasion of North America, but that's simply political correctness talking. This movie came out while the US was invading Iraq. The Euopeans came to colonise the New World. The humans aren't trying to colonise Pandora, they're simply there to strip it of its natural resources, just as the Americans were doing in Iraq.
0:50 stand by for titanfall
It's just like usa and russia. Quaritch and his squad are like Russia and the blue people are like United States
3:19 Who after to "Babilon"?
I wonder who would win if you gave the natives weapons from Wakanda? The natives have sonic spears, wakanda arrows, and shield cloaks and wearing vibranium clothes as well. The humans have just regular human stuff. Note that even if you have Wakanda stuff, you can still get hurt. Black Panther got knocked the fuck out when killmonger shot a grenade at him point blank.
I'd love to know why the trans-atmospheric Valkyrie couldn't have dropped its payload from an altitude the Na'vi collectively couldn't reach.
1) the bombs were made of makeshift mine explosive and were unguided
2) It's not as visually cinematic
Radars not working in zone of flying stones, so they need visual contact on target
The Valkyrie was meant to be an armed transport
Not a bomber
They even said how they improvised it into a bomber by placing explosives on the boarding ramp
With no targeting systems to guide them, the Marines has to be low enough to be able to throw the bombs off the boarding g ramp to make it work
The bombs aren’t traditional warheads, they’re explosives taped together in large payload containers, it had to be thrown off low enough to safely reach target had they succeeded

4:16 I know the humans are the bad guys here but this always gives me a patriotism boner
