Sprinkler Controller is Smart, but needs a bit of a fix with the power connector into unit 🤔.
I love the ease of this Smart Wifi Indoor Sprinkler Controller unit! Once it is on the wall, it’s really all a breeze after that. Got my husband to do the wiring (luckily he has electrician knowledge 🤓). I saw him struggling to attach the unit to the wall. Checked the instructions. Oh, he is having problems mounting it since the power connector into the unit has a 90 degree angle plug that just does not sit correctly in the back. The back cover will not close, and we have accepted it as ok, but I thought it was just my husband not working out the “way to put it together”.
There is a rectangular plastic plate with tabs to hand the controller on, and you’ve got to take it off the unit and use the included wood screws and plastic anchors to attach that to the wall THEN do the best you can to hang the unit itself on there, over the plastic tabs. Since the power sticks out a little bit.... the controller may not go on so easily, but we (my husband) managed to get it on. Phew! Hard work finished.
Opted to use (and suggest that you also use this app if you purchase a Smart device such as this): Jinvoo Smart App. I have not had the best of luck lately with the Smart Life app, as Alexa was not communicating with the devices I added to the app. Things were unresponsive. After about 2 hours of trying to figure out what I was doing wrong, I realized that it was that third party app. I know I have used another one that had not given me issues before, and I remembered which one it was, so, since then, I have been adding my Smart devices to it. Jinvoo Smart App it is.... and it works ever-so-smoothly (as third party apps go).
Directions are very clear on everything (except the power connector seems to connect and fit so easily in the manual 😂) and the WiFi startup is a simple long press of the “Select” button for 5 seconds. There are not many options once in the controller menu. Select a Zone to turn on/off, enter the Timers section, or check Histories. In the Timers section, , choose the time and then the days, and set Smart Weather Mode if needed. Very cool that the Rain can signal the controller to not follow through with its own program. The controls for this unit are really simple. (Too bad the.....never mind, done mentioning the back cover not able to close).
Connecting to Alexa is also easy, but you’ve got to enable the Jinvoo Smart Skill within Alexa. This program. Should notice there is a new device on your network - the Sprinkler Controller. And that is it. Just a simple “Turn on the Sprinkler Controller (or name it what you want) and give it your commands. *Note: Unfortunately you can’t ask Alexa to turn on a specific Zone - she only turns them ALL ON or ALL OFF as a whole (despite your asking for a specific zone). So, if you ask Alexa, just be forewarned, all units will be a go (unless there is something I am missing with the voice-control part of this...).
The transformer is heavy (and I mean heavy) compared to this smart unit that is light! We have the transformer sitting on a shelf above where the sprinkler controller is mounted. Excited to say that it is UL Listed - YAY! That is actually very exciting. I am happy we have a safe unit (yeah my husband knows there are two unnecessary wires sticking out that are not needed in this unit that were needed for our older unit so we will see how long he leaves it like that).
This Smart WiFi Indoor Sprinkler Controller was not over-pricey, and it is better than the manual controller that was there before, seems easier to use from the Jinvoo Smart App directly, and I love how it is quick to take effect after changes are made. This is a good unit with a couple things I would consider to be a work in progress, but I am happy I found a decent one for an affordable price, and it had a coupon on it, as I remember, at the time of purchase. Would I recommend this? Yes! I think it is great for the price and I am happy to be able to control my sprinkler system from anywhere, and that if it rains, they won’t come on - very cool. 😎 👍🏼

How do you program it to open only one valve at the same time? My programs open all the valves at the same time, then the water pressure downs, and the irrigators don't work properly.

For the voice commands you can’t have it open just one valve, but using the app you click what you want opened. How are you doing it?

@@BrandiHollis_ProductReviews The problem is not with voice commands. In the app I cannot make a program to open, for example, 3 valves in a sequence: open 1, close 1, open 2, close 2, open 3, close 3 (as all programmers do)

Yeah, I don’t think you can do a sequence like that… you would have to set up three separate programs open/close 1 (ten minutes), then another program to start zone 2 at the 10 minute mark and close it 10 minutes later, and a third program for zone 3 for the last 10 minutes….. so yes, three separate programs for your three zones.
