just got a lucid air touring stealth package, I LOVE IT. former model S owner for 8 yrs.
good choice.
Congrats ! Me too Hope to get the Lucid Pure in Blue this year here in Ontario Canada !
I actually like Lucid alot!
Same! Surprisingly good
Wow, even the bare bones Lucid has almost as much horsepower as Model 3 performance. I think I am going to sell my Model 3 and get a Lucid Air!
Thanks Tailosive! I am excited for this move!
The Lucid looks like a solid vehicle!
this car is incredible, I test drove the Air Touring (620hp) and was blown away with the speed and responsiveness, it's also extremely comfortable
I’m impressed at how fair and impartial you both were in this video.
I love Lucid. I just got a Grand Touring. Overall, the best EV made currently.
Welcome to Lucid. I am a proud owner of a Air GT. Loving it.
I have been driving my Air GT for just over 2 years, I live in the DFW area and have traveled quite a bit around the middle of the country. Despite all the talk online about charging I really haven't had a problem. A little planning and Lucid's exceptional efficiency go a long way toward reducing stress.
I like sporty cars and over the years have spent quite a bit of time on track. Lucid's handling is spectacular for a car of this size. My car has the range to get to the fun roads and the energy left to play when I get there. The car has held up very well and shows little wear. Lucid's service is excellent.
Don't fret about the company going away. Lucid is majority owned and supported by the near-Trillion-dollar fund that Musk hoped would take Tesla private. They understand that building a global automotive brand takes time and investment.
Air GT Owner. Your user review was nice and how you could see yourself having one. I agree Lucid should consider a midsized unit, but I do not agree that it should cut the capacity of the range. Range is King in the world of EV's. Afterall one of your first questions in the video was, "What is the range"? Lucid is the leader in Range, because that is where they have focused their position in the EV realm. To reduce it they risk being just another "Me Too EV".
Good Luck!
Lucid's mid-size models are slated to start appearing in 2026.
Flat bottom steering wheel is a sports car thing too
The opening of the trunk is also really, really nice. A lot of cars have trunk capacity, but you have to do advanced Tetris to get big things in or out.
I have model Y performance. Just waiting for the Lucid Gravity. Can’t wait to have my Gravity! Lucid is🔥
My Honda Accord had a pass through in the back armrest so you can have longer items like skis to move around.
I love my AGT! She’s amazing 😊
out in Phoenix all week and just visited the Lucid AMP-1 factory down in Casa Grande when I first got off the plane. like the AIr's back seat, IT'S HUUUGE...!!! 😃
Drew i would get the same exterior , the storm trooper exterior looks sweet. I hope Lucid makes it, but as you said the prices of their vehicles are too high especially in this high interest rate environment which is too bad because the make some pretty solidly built Evs. Oh and i agree with what you said about Tesla needing a manual preconditioning option, hopefully that will come eventually.
Congratulations 🎉🥳🎉🥳
Good and informative review. I just hope lucid can survive for the next few years.
I saw one of these launch from a red light it was incredible. FAST.
I’m heavily considering one of these or the gravity model.
Lucid Air is delicious, can't wait for the Gravity!
Congratulations! The Lucid Air is the best EV currently on the market. I have both a Tesla and a Lucid Air GT. The Lucid is on another level and the newer models will now have a heat pump among many other improvements.
There is no way that for 80k I would buy a basic Lucid instead of a Model S. In no world.
Wow well certainly the Saudi support if they can get even more might see them last indefinitely-I get the feeling car companies are a bit like airlines though yeah just because you launch a nice one or a cheap one or whatever doesn’t mean it will have longevity BUT prestigious even though yeah both industries are struggles from various perspectives
@@Punkluskyu meant 69k. it seems you are stuck on your own ways so why even bother correcting your opinion
@@Punkluskyyour choice but not mine! Not even in the same class!
@@gmv0553 when comparing similar costing models, I don’t see where Lucid beats Tesla.
Looks like a super nice car, but my next one will be an Aptera. Great range on that, I must say and the creature comforts like massaging chair and cooling would be nice.
My Chevy Bolt has no driver door grab handle but the back seats do.
I need them for when my wife drives. Those "Oh sh$t" handles are important.
I really liked the cars, thanks for showing them to us. The problem I see with the lucid air is that to get the base model with autopilot you're pushing $80,000. If I wanted to spend $80,000 on a car, I don't know that I get to the base model 2wd lucid.
$80K gets the AWD Touring it looks like. . . I am new to this though!
@@DanDeGaston The driver assist is about $7k extra, so you almost have to add that amount to the base prices to get a feature that comes standard in other EVs.
Lucid knows how to make _luxury_ cars. Tesla is still learning. However, even if I had the money for this amazing and beautiful car I would still be concerned about whether they will continue to exist five years down the road.
Lucid is owned and funded by the immensely wealthy PIF sovereign wealth fund. They aren't going anywhere.
I wish they would make an well affordable car, Like something in the low mid 40k range. They'll be a lot more of them on the Rd.
The cheapest Lucid Air Pure can be fitted with Dream Drive Pro.
It can but a $6k up charge for lane keep on a $70k vehicle feels a bit cheap… a used $20k Tesla still has basic autopilot
The best Ev in Evs sector
I really like lucid. I think it's the best engineered EV on the market right now. The marketing and manufacturing just isn't up to par. I love it so much i bought the stock and I'm currently down 90 percent on it 😅
Hold the line! 😬
400 miles!? Perfect for driving Uber. I won't have to charge during the day!
or town car service.
Anyone wants to get lucid, it’s very crystal time. There’s huge offers will ends up April 30, 2024, 11:59 PM ET.
Much better than a Tesla. Wondering if they’re going to make it.
No glass top? I might have to get one.i hate glass tops. It's something else that can break. My head burns when i drive my model 3 on hot days.
Is that a Kia Lucid?
LET'S GOOOOOOOOOO LUCY. SHE'S A LUXURY GIRL😁🙋♂️♥️🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🎉🎉🎉🎉THAT'STHE LUCID GUARANTEE🏆🏁🏁🫡💯.
Keep saying "Aptera is our next vehicle"... rinse and repeat.
This is me.
I'm hoping Lucid can survive so I can buy a car from them one day 🙏
I will do one pushup for every pushup
I just did like 30
Lucid is great but the pricing has its niche. I personally like polestar and Aptera and I drive a Tesla
I don't think Polestar has much a future. The value is pretty terrible and it does have far worse efficiency than a Tesla or alternatives. Honestly think you'd be better off buying an Ioniq 5 or 6 instead.
@@Skylancer727 time will tell.
@ItsSeals I mean it looks pretty bleak when Volvo already announced stopping funds for Polestar.
@@Skylancer727 Polestar doesn’t need Volvo funds to be profitable
Amazing car
Drew, this is the Lucid model they should have launched last year at $69K. I bought the Lucid GT 15 mo ago and it was loaded with bugs, surely not worth $155K. So glad it’s gone because you never know if a vendor will fix the problems.
Louise would have a big problem because when exiting driver’s seat, it didn’t automatically move back so anyone under 6 ft hits their head on roof. That single phone clamshell charger was awful. Geez, at this price, can’t we have dual chargers.
This EV won’t accept voice commands like other EVs unless you have an Alexa account. I don’t want Alexa listening to me 24x7. Last year, Lucid couldn’t separate GPS instruction volume from entertainment system. They should have different volume levels.
While there were other weaknesses you should not have in a $155K EV, I liked Lucid and would consider one in the future.
Lucid has added an easy entry/exit figure via an OTA software update. The driver's seat and steering wheel can be programmed to move back, down, and up respectively when you put the car in Park and return when you press the brake pedal. You can now also adjust volumes separately for different features. In fact, there is quite a long list of additional features that have and are still being added via OTA software updates.
@@blakespringpasturemortimer9168 That's great, I'll look at this brand again after pricing settles in the EV industry. Leasing might make sense due to high depreciation and rebates.
Holy cow… after years of me in this comment section Drew might actually… see the appeal of Lucids?
Fewer cameras, excellent presentation.
That was a catch from Louise 😂 I said less at first. See you tomorrow!
Not with that Saudi backing. Lucid will be fine, but will eventually need to get a mass market vehicle to become profitble.
Hey Ho! Drew! This writer drove one 02 yrs ago. I found it HUGE and unwieldly on the 18th Century roads{now paved and filled with traffic cops}of New England . I found the 'luxury' to reach into the realm of 'its clever but is it art'? I do like it, but cannot afford it, and would not buy one if I 'mugged a politician for his pocket change'.
The first line should be changed to "We were low on content and Tesla news has been pretty bad recently, so..."
Probably just me but the interior of the first car looks like it came from a honda accord or something except all the materials are nicer. Either way it looks really nice.
1 minus = it's sedan. I wish it would have been hatchback.
Those seats should NOT be wearing like that with only 15k miles. That’s ridiculous.
We've had our Air Dream Edition Performance since December 31, 2021. The seats still look brand new. I don't know what was going on with the seat in this video. It's Nappa leather, though, and real leather does develop creases and patina with use. It's generally viewed as a desirable characteristic of that material.
Seems like they’re really nice cars! They’re just too expensive right now to be truly competitive I feel.
LUCID IS HERE TO STAY 🙌💎💎💎💎🙋♂️♥️🥳🥳🥳🥳🎉🎉🎉TOGETHER AS ONE LUCID FAMILY GOONIES NEVER SAY DIE! KEEP ADDING ON TO YOUR LUCID POSITIONS EVERYONE STAY FOCUSED BE DISCIPLINE HARD WORK DEDICATION 🫡💯
Oh no yeah it will be a while before most teslas ~1000 volts but seems obvious that will be the norm by 2027ish
Charge charge charge🔋
$69k for a full size luxurious electric sedan that can run more than 400mi on a single charge!? That's cheap!!!😮
If the Aptera wasn't a possibility in the next year or so (fingers crossed they come out), I would really consider a Lucid. Although not one with peanut butter interior... that was, imo, really ugly.
ppl who talk sh on lucid are just mad they lost money on the stock but if u r just looking at the car company its not bad at all given their just 5yrs old or so
Why buy a barebone lucid air while you can get a Tesla Model S
Because the Lucid is quieter, rides better, handles better, has a roomier interior (and vastly more rear seat legroom), and is more structurally rigid. (We own both a Model S Plaid and a Lucid Air Dream Performance, so I know whereof I speak.)
Those suction cups on the windshield need to go. Should’ve just copied Tesla model x. And having 1 wireless charger in cars is too common wtf how cheap can they be
He seemed a bit dismissive about the amount of wear and tear. This is something to note because it could mean that the materials used are not durable.
We've had a Lucid Air Dream Edition Performance since December 31, 2021. The interior still looks brand new. We took delivery on our Model S Plaid in October 2021. After a four-month wait, it's in the shop right now for a yoke replacement due to plugs of its cover peeling away. We've just learned to live with its misaligned interior trim pieces.
This was a demo car, had likely been handed around to journalists and reviewers who generally treat cars badly. My 2 year old Air GT with similar miles has no such wear on the seats.
@@Miata822 Same with the Dream Edition we've had since December 2021. The interior still looks brand new. Even the off-white carpets can still be brought back to near-new condition with a good shampooing.
How much “stuff” do people really need ?
Mileage to me and a comfortable seat and a connected media center are important to me. That’s it.
I would even buy a car with manual roll down windows honestly.
I was driving my 18 year old Scion Xb. It’s a bare bones car. It’s easy to work on.
Just purchased a Mazda CX5. Great car. Bare bones touring model. 33mpg. Comfortable seat and it plays my podcasts and has a heated seat. I don’t need a Sunroof. Good enough.
Also remember when you drive your new car off the dealer lot, it’s worth drops $8K dollars. I always buy used with 3000 miles oil changes.
Nice that Tesla is producing affordable cars for the masses. It would be nice if they had a Hybrid car. Up North here in the Midwest when it’s -20F the batteries have less range. Would be nice to be able to have a hybrid that could charge itself
That’s all fine, but why click on Lucid videos?
Then dont buy it?
@@TailosiveEV because it was in my feed... nice car though...
@@jonahhammond2438 maybe when my kid is out of college and I have an extra $90K a year, Ill buy 2.
yea until you can't charge the thing, until it gets NACS and a lower price point it'll never move the needle
Lucid makes some very ugly sedans
No Mercedes makes the ugliest EV! 😂😂😂
@@joeblack1642 they do too along with bmw
One of those designs that works better in person than in photos.
I thought the Lucid is probably the nicest looking of the EVs. The Mercedes and BMW are by far the ugliest. And I think the Teslas just look a bit on the bland side.
Why buy a car that the company is about to go bankrupt any second and then you’ll have issues if you need any warranty repairs it’s a Bass
It’s been about to go bankrupt for 4 years now, I’m beginning to think the Saudis will continue to support them for years to come. They’ve gotten this far
You're gonna love the lucid gravity even more. When it releases, do a view on that the both of you. Gravity Suv of the year Guarantee!🫡💯🏆🏁
louise would buy lucid and drew would buy cybertruck
Happy wife … happy life.
