Thanks for your hack! I just ( for 1st time) ordered some "Wish" costume wedding sets. . the pictures of them were stunning! Alot of people say "oh it looks fake & tarnishes instantly" let me tell you, for 2$ @ ring- they are EVERYTHING!! So so beautiful! I painted each with sally hanson fast dry top coat- even a thin coat on the rhinestones. I didnt paint over the big stones, though. I plan on wearing on a trip this month. If anyone has concerns- clear nail polish will stop tarninshing and also keep tiny stones secure. GO WISH!!
in theory, yes. However, I don't think it is as long lasting, but I have not tried. People who do resin tell me that resin often turns yellow. It also tells you not to have it in water, but I guess the same with lacquer - better not to keep submerged. Should do some testing!
I would not use this method to cover odour. Question is, what is causing the odour? Some pearls have an odour shortly after harvesting, but if you leave it out, it goes away after a month or so.
It usually lasts several months of normal wear. The things that wear it out faster are oily products like sun block and perfumes, but also hand sanitizer.

love this!!Yes, the nail polish idea is great and does make a huge difference. Good luck with the wedding. If it is yours, congrats!!
Too bad manufacturers don't do this for us! Thank you for this.
Some people like the patina - it is a different kind of beauty and aesthetic
Lol
Hopefully its good on ring's and bracelets and necklaces.
It won't be great for anything that will have to endure a lot of abrasion - such as rubbing with lots of bracelets.
Would you be able to recommend me a system to electroplate these pendants that you have on your video? Thank you!!!
You can electroplate the stones. The settings on these are brass and copper base and then plated.
Thank you for this. Do you think Uv resin would possibly work?

UV resin can take water very well. It's used on surf boards. It's a little thick to work with. A good quality UV Resin does not yellow.
Resin will absolutely work.
I want to sell my jewelry. How long does the smell last?
Not long - it's kind of like nail polish. If you have good ventilation, a couple of hours. The smell doesn't stay on the piece overnight
Would this help to fix new pendants with an odor?

Can this work for gold plated watches to?
I don't see why not. However, I have never tried.
True how long does that last as a daily wearer? Also effects on skin?
Did you get a answer ? I wanna know to found out rope gold chains are actually hallow and you have to pay thousands for a true solid gold rope chain
That lasts about 6 months. So far I haven't seen any affect on my skin, but everyone is slightly different and have different PH levels.
thicker chains are usually hollow - cost and also weight.
@@stonesandfindings hi so I need to apply it again every 6 months? Or i should just buy another one?
Would it be the same process with plated jewellery with CZ?
yes, it would be the same process. Most cz are bezel set, so you'll have to do it slowly to make sure you don't cross over to the stone
Thank you. Name of the product pls?
Jewelry Lacquer.
How long does that last?
6 months with regular wear.
i wonder if its toxic to the skin at all
It is at the same level or less toxic than nail polish
@@stonesandfindings hmm i dunno how much that says tbh :p
@@VeganChiefWarrior Yeah I was hoping to find something less toxic then clear nail polish.
what other type of lacquer can you use?
I suppose you can also use clear nail polish, although no guarantees on how it will hold up.
For how long does it last?
It usually lasts several months of normal wear. The things that wear it out faster are oily products like sun block and perfumes, but also hand sanitizer.
This seems carcegenic
It's actually lighter than polyurethane. I would, however, suggest you do this with good ventilation - as in all painting.
Probably a little carcinogenic. But also keep in mind that people (mostly females) put this directly on their fingernails.
