That before and after looks more like a lighting difference than a protective coating. Also I think you should do a before and after of a few months of wear vs no clear coat and clear coat.
Thank you for your feedback! The difference you see in the before and after photos is indeed due to cleaning the jewelry and then applying ProtectaClear. I really don't like using areosol cans.... I don't like getting the product everywhere. if i were to dip a chain, and run my fingers down the chain to break up the hardness, would that be ok?
Hi. Can you tell me what the ingredient is in the spray that keeps the metal from tarnishing again? Is it safe when it comes in contact with the skin? Also, does it work on other metals like copper, brass etc. also?
works with a bunch of metals including those, ProtectaClear is for jewelry (that touches skin) and Everbrite is also for metals but more for outside metals (doors, gutters, etc) that dont touch your skin very often
My spray always looks bubbled on the metal. I clean it well first with alcohol but always get bubbles whether its copper, brass or sterling. Doesn't matter how close or far away, the temperate/humidity, etc... How can I get a nice, smooth coating with the spray? For reference, I rarely have that same problem when using the liquid in a can.
Microfiber cloths work very well to clean and polish jewelry. They are lint free and come in different colors. Are the blue cloths you ask about microfiber?
Great question! The length of time the coating lasts depends on the use or abuse the jewelry goes through. Earrings and pendants tend to last longer than rings. Some people are really hard on their rings. The coating can last anywhere from 1 year to many years before it needs to be reapplied. What type of jewelry would you like to coat with ProtectaClear?
I recently bought a small bottle of your liquid and planning on making layer over my gold plated rope chain. My chain is much thinner than in this video, it's 3mm (Rope). My question is when it's dry and I need to break it a bit to remove stiffness, will it damage my plating ? What about flaking of your dry solution at break points ? Can you see anything on it ?
Thanks for your order. It is much easier to spray chains. If you purchased the liquid, you can use a PreVal sprayer that you can purchase locally for under $10. You can find locations that sell them at www.preval.com. They are an aerosol can with a glass jar that you can pour your liquid into. When you remove the stiffness, just run the chain gently through your fingers and the bonds will break. ProtectaClear is practically invisible so you cannot see it. ProtectaClear will help protect the plating from wearing off.
I’d like to know what kind of cloths the presenter used, though. If they were silver polishing cloths, they cost a lot, and she went through several of them.
Yes, you can dip the chain in ProtectaClear. Hang and let the excess run off and if there is coating between larger links, you can blow out the excess coating with canned air. Once the coating is dry, run the chain through your fingers to break the bond between the links. Spraying is a better choice for chains. Many people use Preval sprayers or aerosol cans. There is less bonding with spray application of ProtectaClear.
Also, at the end of the video, the presenter should’ve worn gloves to prevent the transfer of skin oils to the sealed chain. Even though the skin oils can’t penetrate the sealant coating, they will lie on top of it, dulling the shine.
Yes, ProtectaClear is good for seed beads to protect the finish and also to stiffen bead projects. Here is a link from Jill Weisman showing how to use on her beautiful earrings. ruclips.net/video/qLb52yHwTak/видео.html ProtectaClear is crystal clear and is skin safe once it is cured. It will prevent tarnish on metal and will protect plated metals from coming off. We have many size cans including a 1 oz. can if you want to try it. If you watch the video, she clearly says MAAS polish, and shows the container. I watched the whole video and I do not see where she says anything about prevail.com... But there is preval.com (no letter I), where you can check out the Preval sprayer. I have used the ProtectaClear before and it is great.
Hi Terri, Thanks for asking. We like MAAS polish. It polishes really well - it has jewelers rouge in it and does not contain acid so you can skip the neutralizing step. Once the item is polished, then ProtectaClear will seal and protect the metal. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks.

How would you coat something with a stone? Paint brush instead of spray???

Where can the MAAS polishing creme be purchased?
Can this be used on polymer clay jewelry?
Do you agree that the blue fiber cloths work better for cleaning/polishing jewelry?

Teresa Sedmak oops. I am sorry- yes microfiber.
Does it cover swirl marks?
Hallo. Is it Maas or
Maz polishing cream?
@@vjm6238 we currently recommend Midas Touch polishing cream as Maas is no longer available.

Also, when she sprayed, she was also spraying whatever was behind the chain: another spray can and some loaf pans - not ideal.
I can't understand what you called the polish you used to clean the ......chain where do you get it????????
MAAS polish

Inexpensive microfiber
so if you dip the chains, will it stiffen the chain or can you dip and then run your fingers up and down and it will be good?

I use "PEEK"....available from canadian tire stores its a cream in a tube....great stuff!
Thanks so much! I was gonna buy Protectaclear off of Amazon .ca for $46, now I'll buy that for way cheaper and it's at my local store Canadian Tire!

Just received a 14k gold plated chain necklace. Brand new, never worn. Can I skip using Denatured Alcohol step and go straight to the coating?

What is the spray? Also is it a good idea to spray indoors?
The spray is ProtectaClear that will protect the silver from tarnish. It is ok to spray inside as long as there is good ventilation.
You NEED to be wearing a respirator mask!!

If u clean your silver jewelry one or twice a week it'll never tarnish that bad
yes. if you do not want to do that... you can coat it and it won't tarnish at all...
The lady presenting is a cutie!
The product is great, but..... your demonstration sucks really bad
We apologize. This is an older video, and we plan on creating a new one. Do you have any suggestions on how to make the demonstration better?
