@@Jayhayjay777lol calm down it's subjective. Also, without Spector, Warwick wouldn't exist. They literally started as Spector copies. Furthermore the mec electronic is also modeled after EMG. I own both and they are awesome instruments although my Spector is MUCH more stable and solid.
It's perfectly acceptable to borrow from previous electric basses. Warwick have used the best of the past to refine it for the future. I wouldn't be surprised if the Warwick Thumb was inspired by the Yamaha SB-5A Samurai BASS. As musicians learn from those before them and not all but some modern bass players are very good indeed.@@frederickdoyon
Mind blown by the lit top dots. Have a bass where those dots are essentially invisible on a stage. This solves that problem on a level I never considered possible. 😆
Awesome demo as always, Nate. 😎🤘🏻🎸 between these 2 Spector basses, I like the 5-string version the most. It’s got a killer punchy tone that excellent for metal
So, Nate....now that the govment has confirmed aliens have made their way to earth, will you finally tell us what planet you're from? Awesome demo, as usual!
I cover Double Thumb in my latest book! Here's a sample of the lesson: ruclips.net/user/shortsD-0PeWoWm48 Find my books here: www.natenavarro.net/books
Are these really better than the NS Pulse ii basses, or are they just priced higher because of the Darkglass preamp? Trying to decide between a Pulse 5 and an Ethos 5.
I have the four string version. Is it normal for the bridge pickup to be WAY quieter? When I pan to the bridge, it has tons of output, almost too much. In the middle position, the bass is quieter with not much bridge tone. When i pan to the bridge, its even quieter, and i have to turn up the amp. I adjusted pickup height which made little difference.
I bought a HP 4 mulitscale and ended up returning it. Fret buzz galore! It was basically unplayable. I adjusted the bridge and truss rod to no avail. I really wanted to like the bass, the pickups and preamp sound great, but the fret buzz really drove me over the edge. A fret level and redress might've fixed the issue, but I will not spend $2k on a brand new bass that isn't playable out of the box. Hope you had a better experience. I actually purchased two different ones and they both had the same problem. I think KORG's takeover of Spector a few years ago has something to do with their drop in quality control.
Hi Nate, just found your great channel. How does Music Man basses stack up against Spectors? Great demonstration and I am going to check out your new five-sting bass book. Peace.
It sounds to me that Spector gave up their signature tone for the Darkglass mid-scoop sound. I prefer the Dimension with the Fishman pickups. They recaptured the original Spector tone in a 5 string bass. Great video, Nate.
I would buy that new Multiscale model in a heartbeat if it was 34-36 scale, then the Daddario super long strings would fit it. Its pain in the ass to order strings for 37 scale basses, I own a Dingwall and always have to order them from either US or UK. 🤔
I'm so stuck between a Spector NS and a Warwick Streamer. They both have their own distinct sound. If I had the budget to afford them both it wouldn't be an issue. But, unfortunately, I'm not rich!
Nate, I am sure the basses they send you are probably great. But, the QC on the Dimension line for the rest of us, in my recent experience, is quite bad. Badly carved nut, cheap bridge hardware, cheap tuners, high frets all over the neck and why would it have all black hardware and 1 silver switch? To everyone out there thinking about this bass, ymmv. But definitely check on the shop return policy before you buy one of these. For a $2k+ bass, this is just not cool and is certainly not up to what the Spector name would typically imply.

All my best,

Incredible playing as always Nate!
Nothing plays, sounds, or looks like a Specter. Absolutely love these instruments.
...Warwick?
@@zulu5157 Warwick is definitely my second favorite.

@frederickdoyon I have both...Spectors are fatter/ ballsier. I like my Warwick for live more and Spector for studio
Well that bit at 0:12 got me hooked right into the video. Amazing video, Nate.
Really need a video comparing the NS Dimension with the Dimension HP!
That B string sounds incredible.
Man, your playing technique and sense for groove are otherworldly, and I am always blown away by your versatility and innovative ideas. Amazing!
Soo love Nate’s playing!! That prog in the introduction sounds like a transformer robot having a stroke. Brilliance
Still in love with my 1987 NS2.
I can never unsee the anti-parallel arrangement of the bridge/fretboard edge/pickups though.
Spector…hands down the best basses you can get! My go to for everything!
I am partial to the white Dimension model. Bring us more on this! Thanks for the share Nate. Keep Doing That VoodooThat You Do!
Not gonna lie, I think the Fishman pickups and fluence EQ in the dimensions NS 5 fits it better than the EMGs and darkglass. Both are great though.
man I wish Submission Audio hired you to do bass stuff for their Kontakt libraries
Insane sound and beautiful look
Thanks, man! :)
As soon as I saw Spector had released new basses I opened your channel hoping you would do a video on them.
I just come here for Nate's sweet riffs
The new Purple NS Dimension HP looks sick. Want.
Nice! Can't wait to see a multiscale Euro.
You and me both!
Spector killing it per usual 🤘
Mind blown by the lit top dots. Have a bass where those dots are essentially invisible on a stage.
This solves that problem on a level I never considered possible. 😆
Spector is iconic. Just top.
Listening from São Paulo _ Brazil
Nate, you truly slayed those basses. Great review! 🤘🎸🎸🤘
Ooooh, plum crazy looks nice!

Killer little intro thing, dude!!
Damn he didn't hold back at all in that intro!
Welcome back Nate
That double thumb just killed me...I'm dead
Cryptopsy None So Vile ass evolution
That's well played man.
めっちゃ上手いな笑…紹介してるベースも超かっこいい❤
I almost heard Ancient Covenant by The Faceless intro on the bass
So, Nate....now that the govment has confirmed aliens have made their way to earth, will you finally tell us what planet you're from? Awesome demo, as usual!
Hate to say it but Ive heard better low b's on 34 inch basses. Wonder if its a setup issue. 4 string sounds great though
Can your next book be about your double thumb technique?
Yes. It's unbelievable clean sounding

Nate Navarro, you are very cool!

if find that the 4 chords sound way better. where this diff come from if they have the same electronic ? the scaled fretboard?

this bass is killer beans
Hmmm makes me want to get the standard in a 5 string !!
Sounds cool ❤❤❤❤
Bass collection video pls

What's the total length of the 5 string? Wondering what size a flight case needs to be for these bad boys.
Brass 🥜 & your playing 👌👌👌

Yeah, nothing beats Emg pickups with Spector's own Tonepump.
I know I’m like 10 years to late but does anyone know where I can get a source audio hot hand?

Dude your awesome on bass ...what about being. Radio host ??? Golden voice
4:40
Ok, it's time to add to my Spector collection...🤣🤣🤣
Whatever instrument you give to Nate will sound like a stradivari.
Anyone does have Dimension 5 MS ? Is there any neck dive ? And hows the weight and the balance on these ?
No neck dive. It’s an amazing instrument. Have the OG 5 string dimensions in haunted moss
Did bro just hit us with a mr bungle type riff on the intro?
And for how long have you been playing bass?
If you'd use his skill to approximate it, as soon as he left the womb!
I started playing in 2005. :)
Okay that makes sense😅
Let me say this again: Emg's are superior to Fishman, especially on bass. Also, as always, Nate your playing is out of this world......
The sterile Fishmans were really holding the NS Ethos back. Glad they fixed it.
The only downside to these basses is sanding off the paint for a natural wood finish
Dude that ultra fast slap is messing up my mind.
HTF???
👍👍👌👌
dear god spector make a natural wood 6 string multi scale 37-33.25 with a maple neck

Why my feed is being flooded by Spector basses?? Huge GAS going on now, ty.
I dont like that B.
Really love the Spector sound on slap difficult to explain why may be the tchong tchong nasal sound ...i told it's difficult to describe a sound🤣
I think it is the bridge pickup location that gives the Spector slap tone it’s springy slap sound. I love it too, it is intoxicating.
