You can take any bass you want/like & mold it these days!! Which is weird coming from me, but it's true. This body style for some might be their calling!? We all had to start somewhere before we could afford nice ones!!
Every time I would see the previous Dimensions with their fancy wood tops, I'd think, wish I could get it in black (or any other solid color). I might order one of the multi-scales without even playing it first.
You should compare this to the Ibanez BTB605MS/805MS, and Dingwalls! There are very few 37 inch multiscale basses on the market. Ibanez is in the USD 1000-1400 range, with in-house electronics that are lauded. Dingwall is Dingwall and now these Spector options with EMG and Tone Capsule are super cool though at the same price point as the Dingwalls. Also, I wonder why there are no affordable 37 inch multiscale options. There must be reasons for this, but I wonder what those are.
I do not think that Dingwalls are Dingwalls. I found the NG3 and combustion stuff pretty disappointing. It seems that everyone likes them because of Nolly and the gossip etc - but ever played an Afterburner or Z? Those are the real Dingwalls.
Glad to hear they addressed the issue with the angled pickups on the NS Dimension 5 not being spaced wide enough to produce an even output. Would be great to see another model of Fishman Fluence someday that can be applied this way that adjust for this, but I'm not going to complain about the EMGs. Also very nice to see some additional color varieties available.
They all sounded good and looked good. Different styles shown between the different players. I wouldn’t mind getting one in the future! The prices weren’t mentioned in the video that I could find which I think would push some viewers to buy or not buy it. Good Video!
Nice basses 😎🤘🏻🎸 and they sound killer too. I personally like the blue, pewter, and black finishes on these basses. I really dig how it sounded with the darkglass alpha omega preamp and the gk rig.
The NS ethos in black reminds me of my first premium bass which was an original korean NS 5string neck thru with EMG. Like an idiot i sold that thing and cant find one. Now i can get it back with a darkglass pre!!!
What would be fun is the Ethos High performance vs a Spector performer that has been retro fitted with EMG pickups. My comment is because these are really expensive. For me. I understand this isn't bad for what they are but wow.
I was looking for a bass to my "home" studio and I think I found one. Versalite and constructed like a motherfucker. Also not overpriced as other basses I looked for.
I’d love to have one of the nicer Korean Spector models someday. I just wish they would have a model with EMG PJ pickups and a preamp that’s not the tone pump jr. That Ethos sounds damn good though!
Love your videos! Big fan supporter of your channel! Question! Which one is better the Hp Dimension or the Ns dimension!? Would like to know your opinion! Thanks!
Eyes closed and unplugged, they’re basically the same bass. However, I prefer the EMG pickups to the Fishman pickups of the NS Dimension. Plus, these new colors are awesome. HP has my vote.
First time hearing Rammstein on your channel! Thanks!!! Please make this cover and Slipknot's Duality which was also in this video))) BTW those basses are great, EMG DC pickups are my favorite.
It fits in the regular Spector (and therefore any) gig bag so I don’t believe you should have an issue. I don’t have the exact measurement from headstock to strap pin but overall, it doesn’t look or feel any bigger/longer overall.
Update: It fits absolutely flush with the generic Rock Case/Harley Benton flight case. It touches the foam on both sides and wont move forward or backward. On the sides the extra foam is needed due to the narrow body. Amazing bass too btw!
These vs the regular NS (not HP) ones? Opinions? I was considering getting my hands on one of the HP ones but the colors are horrible imo. The haunted moss of the regular NS ones tho... Beautiful.
I really want get one of the new multi scale models but paying $2500 (including shipping) for.a korean made instrument is keeping me thinking about it 😢
I remember Sweetwater making a mistake on the scale of a Spector once before and I asked them about it. I think they corrected it shortly after that because the correct scale was stated on the Spector website. I'd be happy if the four string was 35", since I think their needs to be more four strings like that.
@@zhiguli8 Thanks for the response! Yes, I guess I am also one of the weird ones that prefers 35" 4 strings so I am really hoping Spector got it right and Sweetwater made a mistake. I sent both Spector and Sweetwater a question about this, so hopefully one responds soon.
HP stands for no QC. The Dimension line especially has the worst QC. I bought a Dimension recently and learned first hand how much Spector does not actually care about this line. Badly cut nut, high frets, very high string action (cannot get any string below 3mm without significant buzzing), cheap bridge hardware, cheap tuners and a high price tag. Honestly, a $2k+ instrument should not ever have these issues. If you think you want one of these, check on the sellers' return policy first.
If there was a real playing test 9ther than one track heavy metal maybe I could say something, but nothing stood out. No tone, no clarity, no bass, just heavy metal. But they look nice
May not be an USA NS, but they sound really good boys!! Btw; the Darkglass pups are really good & give you a lot of versatility!! RB ‘23

@@Ryzanu Hey kiddo..I payed $2000 for my 1st bass…and that was 40+ yrs ago!!
What Darkglass pickups? This bass uses EMGs.

Thanks to the "Migthy Josh" for the Alpha-Omega EQ settings 🙏🏼
Damn Josh, that was brutal
Josh is a beeeaaaassstt!
Lobster in tha house!!
Its his missus i feel sorry for
Lobster is also a beast
What's better? The NS Dimension EMG & Darkglass or the NS Dimension Fishman ones?
Nice review

They can vary but they’re between I wanna say $1800-$2200
They range between $1,799 and $2,099

That Ampeg DI really brings that bass to life!
I bought one from Zzounds based on this video. I got the NS Ethos 4 HP in Gunmetal. I receive it tomorrow and cannot wait to plug it in and play it!!

Sounding great, killer vid as always! 🤘
That Plum Crazy HP Dimension, f#$% yeah.... sounds tectonic! Good job Spector.

Versalite and constructed like a motherfucker. Also not overpriced as other basses I looked for.
Love that purple finish
My fav too!
Me three! So good lookin, and played great too.

5 string multi scale is interesting.
Hey Chuck! cheers from Austin,,, miss the bass store on Anderson Ln.! luv the channel!!
What’s up man! Thanks for the support 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
That dark silver ethos looks killer… of course it comes out right after I got my Ellefson 30th anniversary PJ. Dammit. lol

My next bass 4 sure 🔥🔥🔥(love the shirt man)
When are these available? I don't see them anywhere online
Sweetwater has them on preorder. This series was just released today.
all online retailers should be rolling them out this week. just keep checking!

Gotta have that gunmetal.
But like…. Why not the other finishes on these? They look so much better than this imo. Especially that one Ethos finish with the blue/red fade

i have a gibson 4 string ,and a gibson 5 string ,and 2 carvin 6 string basses.
What's the total length of the five string Dimension? I'm wondering if these fit in a generic flight case which are usually 120cm/47ish" long.
It fits in the regular Spector (and therefore any) gig bag so I don’t believe you should have an issue. I don’t have the exact measurement from headstock to strap pin but overall, it doesn’t look or feel any bigger/longer overall.

Spector (Korg) emailed me back, they’re 34” for reference

use the emg preamp. sweepable frequency. much better
idk man... that Darkglass Pre pairs well with the EMG pickups. I like that they mixed it up.
@@Therealchuckbailey ok had emg p/j setup and preamp from my experience. in a kramer bass. was pretty happy. just saying. have a good day .
Idk why I’m complaining about this or why it drives me crazy but I really wish they would get rid of that 12th fret marker logo
Cool basses but I'm really not into the color options
Fat bass sounds from very large men. This rocks.
Also very large sounds from very fabulous men!
I like this comment more lol thanks@@core_fin
Yall never show what the actual basses sound like, yall are adding all of these preamps and eq the hell out of them👎

I love Spector.. and I love the look… but…: I highly doubt it can beat my Dingwall..
why?
