IIRC you only take constitution to 3 because if you're minmaxing completely, you're also using dash juice on every hunt. Dash juice is like having +2 points of constitution and doesn't stack beyond 5 points, so you can enjoy constitution 5 by keeping the dash juice buff on and use the deco slots you save to get other skills
That idea is good but I’ve also seen people use no constitution and only feline black belt with dash juice is more than enough since it’s around 35% I think

if you spam the alternate attack button(for Xbox B) while locked in a animation and also at the same time hold the direction you want to go you can Demon Rush in the direction you are trying to move even thought you are locked in an animation this finding at least on pc made my dual blade better and now your side walk combo extender has helped me

I recently got into dual blades. Been loving the safi armor builds with either the best non kjarr elemental value weapons, or the 3 kjarr weapons i have laying around. Made a safi-alatreon armor build with brutal tigrex weapons. Sleep time, baby! And since B tigrex weapons look like chainsaws i whiped up a layored armor set so i look like chainsaw man

At 13:20, The special claw attack is a one hit tenderizer that doesn't drop ammos, compared to the normal tenderizer that needs two attacks and leave slingers
The double rising slash chained into clutch claw is so underrated. It does so much damage and can be canceled and is a quick way to tenderize the monster
I mained the Dual Blades at launch and stuck with them the entire time I was playing. Dual Blades are my favorite weapon and in my other runs I went with the Insec Glaive and Bow

Nice guide been rocking them from my start as a beginner to id say adept at best considering i mainly solo play. Heres some extra tips elemental dmg is just better than status because its constant where as the only time youre constantly hitting with status is with the mantle (forgot the name since i never use it). Unfortunately you will only truly see youre damage potential when you use critical element, true critical element and worse of all after months in the grinding lands if its your first playthrough, if not then you can jusy make whatever monster you need to appear. Also about evade shot when used with stronger slinger shots like bombs or scatternuts it stuns them for a period, which can be just enough time to knock down a flying monster. Of course the king of this technique is the slinger thorn when aimed at the head and attacking the head it will usually stun them leading to big dmg openings. As for combo tips id say sixfold fang is the best when applicable, if not then two triangle/y button inputs into a circle is a good infinite but remember enders of any combo locks you into place. As for builds id say at velkhana is the best for comfort, if you have the time to grind kulve you could get those as they come with critical element on the blades themselves, and you could combine that with safi'jiiva armor or even at namielle. Obviously fatalis armor is amazing but id say at velkhana is just better for dmg when it comes to elemental weapons. And considering that dual blades essentially get have of their dmg as elemental while the can use status its just less dmg.
I always felt confused what Archdemon mode was, like I thought you'd have a way of filling up a second gauge like how you do longswords hahaha~ honestly I had over 100 hunts with Dual Blades without fully understanding what it does. I just love how stylish and fast it is~ I always saw it as "death from a thousand slashes"

Hello, I've been a World Dual Blades main for about 1.3k hours worth in playtime by now plus dozens of additional hours in theory crafting, so I have a few things I'd like to point out about the Dual Blades for you and any other aspiring Dual Blade spinners! *DUAL BLADES GAMEPLAY* So, gameplay-wise, there are a few tiny optimization tricks you can use as a more advanced player to squeeze out that extra little bit of damage. They are honestly all very intuitive and shouldn't be hard to practice and learn; they are just not very well known. I will be using *Xbox controls* for all of these, so you will have to translate if you use PS or KBM layouts. Before I go into the advanced combos, I do want to quickly mention draw attacks, which you did not cover. Y has two different options for draw which are identical to the first B attacks in regular/(ADM) archdemon mode. In regular mode this is Lunging Thrust and ADM this is Demon Flurry Rush, with the latter being an excellent initial gap-closer and decent poke. I'll tend to use this if I'm going low commit for a demon flurry or have the safety to enter demon mode after the fact. You can also draw directly into Demon Mode with RT, though, which is very time efficient if you're looking to go straight into DPS via Demonfang/fold Y combo or Blade Dance. It is also better for preserving Frostcraft meter (which I will explain later because this is the true Dual Blades meta). Now, more on Archdemon mode. My personal play style with it is attacking fluidly between DM and ADM, so I'll frequently switch between the two to maintain maximum aggression. While moving from ADM -> DM is as straightforward as entering demon mode with no other alternative, moving from DM -> ADM provides a lot of fluidity in combat. The switch down from demon mode has very low commitment, allowing for a direct combo into another attack, particularly Demon Flurry and Demon Flurry Rush as they are your best options in ADM and are exploitable. First, Demon Flurry has a unique ability to instantaneously alter your characters direction with a directional input IMMEDIATELY after exiting demon mode. As such, if you find yourself facing the wrong direction while attacking, you can, rather than repositioning entirely, exit demon mode and directly combo into a Demon Flurry with a directional input to the direction you wish to face to line yourself right back up. Demon Flurry Rush has this capacity as well; however, its main purpose is as a hasty, stamina-free gap-closer. In fact, if you are low on stamina and need to cross a distance quickly in Demon Mode, you can use the Demon Flurry Rush in Demon Mode, quickly exit demon mode, and then do it AGAIN via ADM to close an INSANE distance. Do be aware, however, evade extender does not affect this. Iceborne also greatly expanded on Dual Blade moveset capacity and added even more evasive tools to our arsenal. First, the Evade Shot slinger burst. I love this move a lot: quick, evasive, and damaging all in one little package. I noticed you were using it after a full Y combo; however, it can be used after ANY Y or Y+B combo. Yes, you can slinger burst a thorn pod into a monster's head right after blade dance and chain into a stun, it is POTENT. I've seen some use slinger burst as an intermediary between long Blade Dance chains; however, I prefer to avoid this as you can sometimes shove yourself through the monster's collision hitbox and end up nerfing your damage output by getting misaligned (monsters flail a lot when they're toppled, don't they?). There is some utility behind it though if you so choose. Evade Shot, like all other slinger bursts, propels a more potent version of the slinger ammo when used. As such, you can inflict some serious hurt onto the monster by, say, dealing additional damage with bomb pods or landing more thorn pods (getting good aim on the head is hard though, this is speedrunner-level stuff and you probably can't consistently pull it off besides on topples or... Jyuratodus). This damaging capability of Evade Shot is best seen with the dragon pods, as slinger-burst'd dragon pods inflict more elderseal than conventionally thrown dragon pods (90 v 60, however split into 3 explosions dealing 30 each). This makes evade shot spamming dragon pods a quick and easy way to build elderseal on Safi'Jiiva, which is important for Dual Blades as they are one of two weapons with the worst Elderseal buildup in the game (x0.25, the other weapon being bow). Evasion wise, the evade shot has a decent i-frame window, but I am unsure where it actually begins and always end up winging it. Do note, however, that the i-frame window for evade shot is better in demon mode than regular/ADM by a considerable margin. Here are all Dual blade evasion options and their frames (assuming 60FPS, divide by 60 to get the invulnerability in seconds): EW0/EW1/EW2/EW3/EW4/EW5/EM (EW = Evade Window, EM = Evasion Mantle (overrides evade window), Resuscitate Skill = EW5) Normal Dodge: 13/15/17/19/22/25/30 Demon Mode Dash: 14/16/18/20/23/26/31 Demon Mode Evade Shot: 18/21/24/27/33/39/42 Evade Shot: 10/12/14/16/18/20/25 (Also note that the evade distance of evade shots is not greatly increased by Evade Extender, increasing to a maximum of +15% rather than +40%.) Now, the special clutch claw attack via the Demon Mode roundslash combo (B) does have some minor intricacies to it. First, as many in the comments have mentioned, it instantly tenderizes the monster and does not drop slinger as though it were a heavy weapon attack. As such, Clutch Claw Boost is *not needed and not recommended*. Furthermore, you can actually speed up the combo slightly at the cost of an honestly negligible amount of damage loss by using Demon Mode's Rising Slash. This attack can be done after an evade, Lunging Strike, or Demon Flurry Rush in any weapon state by pressing Y immediately after (you have about 0.3 seconds of wiggle room where you can move a slight distance after an evade before doing the rising slash, very short though, and I wouldn't lean on it). What is so important about this attack is it can be combo'd directly into a Left/Right Roundslash, allowing you to chain it straight to the special Claw Attack. While you were showing B B B LT Y, this faster combo can be done via A Y B B LT Y (Demon Dash, Rising Slash, Left/Right Roundslash, L/R Double Roundslash, Claw Attack, Spinning Rising Slash). This actually gives you a bit more leniency to use this combo to *extend claggers*. If you are able to start the combo immediately after landing a clagger, you can use the full combo pushing straight into the tail end of the clagger animation and reset the timer, maximizing it pretty much completely. This allows you to deal more safe damage in addition to the large amount of damage dealt from the Spinning Rising Slash (it, like all clutch claw attacks, regens frostcraft as well as having the highest raw motion value for Dual Blades at 23 * 4 with 100 eMVs). One final thing to note about this combo, though, is that you have able 0.3 or 0.4 seconds of wait time while clutched on the monster to do Spinning Rising Slash before it downgrades to a standard Weapon Attack. Using this combo in tight situations like Fatalis cone, waiting before doing the Spinning Rising Slash could be difference between getting hit by the latent explosive puddle and not. And... that's everything about the gameplay of Dual Blades. Really advanced stuff, but nothing too difficult to learn. Only hard part is learning the timings and windows for the clutch claw combo on claggers and knowing when you're to late to hit it. Being the person who usually gets handed the responsibility of extending claggers for the group, it hurts when I know I'm going to miss it and my obnoxious yelling in VC doesn't help in getting people to cover for me lol. Once you make the fatalus beta gear it makes dual blades op when you place the right jewels in it depending if you get fatalus weapons or awaken safijiva weapons

Would be cool if you did a video about the Switch Axe. Started a new game in world and wanted to try it out. Previously had a great sword build and a dual blade build in rise.
The final attack of the clutch claw attack also does tender the monster which is pretty useful, and if you did it properly you can prolong the demon mode last longer

At 9:30 you mention that in arch-demon mode that the demon flurry rush doesn't propel you into an auto attack over the ledge, implying that the demon mode version does but I'm not getting that result (only get it with the normal A button dash). Not sure if I'm messing up or if it was just a hiccup. I appreciate the videos by the way, been helping me branch out to other weapons :)
11:59 I’ve been trying to find if and when any invincibility frames activate during an Evade Shot but I can’t seem to and it isn’t demonstrated on an actual monster attack in the video to confirm it’s an actual “dodge” but rather a positioning tool. Thanks for the informative video! 👍

I just came back recently. I’m a veteran, but I literally stopped playing when the game first came out and got really boring in the beginning after I beat everything so I’m really behind behind. I lost my first account. SMH What is the best way to farm decorations I need to get better decorations in upgrade all my gear. I can’t beat the fatalist investigation yet. It’s too hard or I just suck.
Maybe im bit late, but if you are below mr 100 then tempered zinogre event quest is the best one for farming deco but if you are already mr 100 then do "day of ruin" event quest where you need to hunt tempered teostra.
Demon flurry rush was the main reason i picked up the weapon in the first place, having a mobility combo that does good damage lets you get so much chip damage in where you would not be able to with other melee weapons, hammer will still be my go to weapon for monsters im not too comfortable and for multiplayer with but for farming monsters i know well dual blades are just a lot faster.
I/m trying to play from pc with PS5 controler but It doesn't show me to aim when weapons drawn and I can't use the claw animation play style. Why? 13:20
DB users since MHFU love these weapons. But pretty much use it rarely on MHW it kinda feels like lackluster but don't me wrong I still love the weapons. I use it when I feel like button smashing. Hope we'd have a something new for DB in MH wilds
I think if you really want to send the kjarr blades over the edge you should try the Safi set. That thing sends your elemental damage through the roof. I just wish the Safi weapons were better than the kjarr weapons

I can't get Velkhana my weapon of choice is db. I'm somewhat DB God lol. I can't get him with Anja rippers so I grinded n downgraded to blood drinker's. Here's my problem I still don't understand why I can't open "Sine" weapon? 170h in n I don't get it. I need descent db to face Velkhana. Please help 😂 thank you. Or I'm i just too paranoid about the level of rarity. My weapon is only rarity 6;but affinity high at n i do have a nice build to get that stuff out.
I think it's interesting that people bring up a weapon being easy as a downside sometimes. I like it when weapons are easy. I don't need my controls to make things difficult for me, the monster is doing that already.

Since World you want to be in Demon mode majority of the time... The moves hit more, are more damaging and gives you faster movement speed. If this was older monhun games then archdemon is the way but not ever since World.
Guys i try use weapon with paralyze effect, but when i open the weapon option / detail , the paralyze word is not highlited ( inactive?), meanwhile other effect like sleep or poison is brighter ( i think is active) , need explanation please
Hmm. Can you show us a dual blade with Constitution 5, evade window 5 , evade extender 3 , marathon runner 3 and stamina surge 3. Be flash :D. With marathon 3 you don't even need dash juice and with constitution you can spam dash and with evade extender you are just flash. evade window is just for fights :D
Some things I dont like about db and also bow is how you get no base evade window or stamina reduction this weapons are decoration heavy for new players.
Please don't drop the mid game builds for a returner like me they are invaluable. MHW is so complex it can be paralyzing to return to there are a million menus, all new mechanics etc.. I just want to hunt a monster and relearn all the niche interactions over time. I'm building your HBG spread and RagingGames Immortal build from 3 years ago. Eventually I'll relearn and just make my on builds but man the mid game stuff really helps. and thanks for the build.

As such, if you find yourself facing the wrong direction while attacking, you can, rather than repositioning entirely, exit demon mode and directly combo into a Demon Flurry with a directional input to the direction you wish to face to line yourself right back up. Demon Flurry Rush has this capacity as well; however, its main purpose is as a hasty, stamina-free gap-closer. In fact, if you are low on stamina and need to cross a distance quickly in Demon Mode, you can use the Demon Flurry Rush in Demon Mode, quickly exit demon mode, and then do it AGAIN via ADM to close an INSANE distance. Do be aware, however, evade extender does not affect this.
Iceborne also greatly expanded on Dual Blade moveset capacity and added even more evasive tools to our arsenal. First, the Evade Shot slinger burst. I love this move a lot: quick, evasive, and damaging all in one little package. I noticed you were using it after a full Y combo; however, it can be used after ANY Y or Y+B combo. Yes, you can slinger burst a thorn pod into a monster's head right after blade dance and chain into a stun, it is POTENT. I've seen some use slinger burst as an intermediary between long Blade Dance chains; however, I prefer to avoid this as you can sometimes shove yourself through the monster's collision hitbox and end up nerfing your damage output by getting misaligned (monsters flail a lot when they're toppled, don't they?). There is some utility behind it though if you so choose. Evade Shot, like all other slinger bursts, propels a more potent version of the slinger ammo when used. As such, you can inflict some serious hurt onto the monster by, say, dealing additional damage with bomb pods or landing more thorn pods (getting good aim on the head is hard though, this is speedrunner-level stuff and you probably can't consistently pull it off besides on topples or... Jyuratodus). This damaging capability of Evade Shot is best seen with the dragon pods, as slinger-burst'd dragon pods inflict more elderseal than conventionally thrown dragon pods (90 v 60, however split into 3 explosions dealing 30 each). This makes evade shot spamming dragon pods a quick and easy way to build elderseal on Safi'Jiiva, which is important for Dual Blades as they are one of two weapons with the worst Elderseal buildup in the game (x0.25, the other weapon being bow). Evasion wise, the evade shot has a decent i-frame window, but I am unsure where it actually begins and always end up winging it. Do note, however, that the i-frame window for evade shot is better in demon mode than regular/ADM by a considerable margin. Here are all Dual blade evasion options and their frames (assuming 60FPS, divide by 60 to get the invulnerability in seconds):
EW0/EW1/EW2/EW3/EW4/EW5/EM (EW = Evade Window, EM = Evasion Mantle (overrides evade window), Resuscitate Skill = EW5)
Normal Dodge: 13/15/17/19/22/25/30
Demon Mode Dash: 14/16/18/20/23/26/31
Demon Mode Evade Shot: 18/21/24/27/33/39/42
Evade Shot: 10/12/14/16/18/20/25
(Also note that the evade distance of evade shots is not greatly increased by Evade Extender, increasing to a maximum of +15% rather than +40%.)
Now, the special clutch claw attack via the Demon Mode roundslash combo (B) does have some minor intricacies to it. First, as many in the comments have mentioned, it instantly tenderizes the monster and does not drop slinger as though it were a heavy weapon attack. As such, Clutch Claw Boost is *not needed and not recommended*. Furthermore, you can actually speed up the combo slightly at the cost of an honestly negligible amount of damage loss by using Demon Mode's Rising Slash. This attack can be done after an evade, Lunging Strike, or Demon Flurry Rush in any weapon state by pressing Y immediately after (you have about 0.3 seconds of wiggle room where you can move a slight distance after an evade before doing the rising slash, very short though, and I wouldn't lean on it). What is so important about this attack is it can be combo'd directly into a Left/Right Roundslash, allowing you to chain it straight to the special Claw Attack. While you were showing B B B LT Y, this faster combo can be done via A Y B B LT Y (Demon Dash, Rising Slash, Left/Right Roundslash, L/R Double Roundslash, Claw Attack, Spinning Rising Slash). This actually gives you a bit more leniency to use this combo to *extend claggers*. If you are able to start the combo immediately after landing a clagger, you can use the full combo pushing straight into the tail end of the clagger animation and reset the timer, maximizing it pretty much completely. This allows you to deal more safe damage in addition to the large amount of damage dealt from the Spinning Rising Slash (it, like all clutch claw attacks, regens frostcraft as well as having the highest raw motion value for Dual Blades at 23 * 4 with 100 eMVs). One final thing to note about this combo, though, is that you have able 0.3 or 0.4 seconds of wait time while clutched on the monster to do Spinning Rising Slash before it downgrades to a standard Weapon Attack. Using this combo in tight situations like Fatalis cone, waiting before doing the Spinning Rising Slash could be difference between getting hit by the latent explosive puddle and not.
And... that's everything about the gameplay of Dual Blades. Really advanced stuff, but nothing too difficult to learn. Only hard part is learning the timings and windows for the clutch claw combo on claggers and knowing when you're to late to hit it. Being the person who usually gets handed the responsibility of extending claggers for the group, it hurts when I know I'm going to miss it and my obnoxious yelling in VC doesn't help in getting people to cover for me lol. At 9:30 you mention that in arch-demon mode that the demon flurry rush doesn't propel you into an auto attack over the ledge, implying that the demon mode version does but I'm not getting that result (only get it with the normal A button dash). Not sure if I'm messing up or if it was just a hiccup.

Maybe im bit late, but if you are below mr 100 then tempered zinogre event quest is the best one for farming deco but if you are already
mr 100 then do "day of ruin" event quest where you need to hunt tempered teostra.
Demon flurry rush was the main reason i picked up the weapon in the first place, having a mobility combo that does good damage lets you get so much chip damage in where you would not be able to with other melee weapons, hammer will still be my go to weapon for monsters im not too comfortable and for multiplayer with but for farming monsters i know well dual blades are just a lot faster.

DB users since MHFU love these weapons. But pretty much use it rarely on MHW it kinda feels like lackluster but don't me wrong I still love the weapons. I use it when I feel like button smashing. Hope we'd have a something new for DB in MH wilds
I think if you really want to send the kjarr blades over the edge you should try the Safi set. That thing sends your elemental damage through the roof. I just wish the Safi weapons were better than the kjarr weapons

I can't get Velkhana my weapon of choice is db. I'm somewhat DB God lol. I can't get him with Anja rippers so I grinded n downgraded to blood drinker's. Here's my problem I still don't understand why I can't open "Sine" weapon? 170h in n I don't get it. I need descent db to face Velkhana. Please help 😂 thank you. Or I'm i just too paranoid about the level of rarity. My weapon is only rarity 6;but affinity high at n i do have a nice build to get that stuff out.

Since World you want to be in Demon mode majority of the time... The moves hit more, are more damaging and gives you faster movement speed. If this was older monhun games then archdemon is the way but not ever since World.
The spinning rising slash also guarantees a wound
Why use raw over poison? Isnt poison just free dmg - unless the sharpness is vastly different

Guys i try use weapon with paralyze effect, but when i open the weapon option / detail , the paralyze word is not highlited ( inactive?), meanwhile other effect like sleep or poison is brighter ( i think is active) , need explanation please

Dual blades are great, when typing in terrain, evade shot and timely in/out demon mode you can just eviscerate a monster

Hmm. Can you show us a dual blade with Constitution 5, evade window 5 , evade extender 3 , marathon runner 3 and stamina surge 3. Be flash :D. With marathon 3 you don't even need dash juice and with constitution you can spam dash and with evade extender you are just flash. evade window is just for fights :D

Some things I dont like about db and also bow is how you get no base evade window or stamina reduction this weapons are decoration heavy for new players.

Please don't drop the mid game builds for a returner like me they are invaluable. MHW is so complex it can be paralyzing to return to there are a million menus, all new mechanics etc.. I just want to hunt a monster and relearn all the niche interactions over time. I'm building your HBG spread and RagingGames Immortal build from 3 years ago. Eventually I'll relearn and just make my on builds but man the mid game stuff really helps. and thanks for the build.
