Karni Mata was from the Charan family and after the drowning of that child, the Charan family had stopped going in that Kolayat lake. This tradition is still going on.. And there is a belief that if unfortunately any "Kabba" dies from you, then you will have to donate the golden mouse to the temple. Also I remember a story was told when I was kid , Jodhpur king along with his army once reached to Bikaner state boundary to attack, as the bikaner king was not there in palace. Suddenly they saw an Eagle known as "Sawali" in local langauge was flying over the boundary, after they went back to Jodhpur without attacking as The eagle (ride of Karni Mata) showing She herself is guarding the Bikaner.

I remember going there as a kid like 15 years ago and i was just so surprised with all the rats, we were even offered laddus meanwhile rats were going around beside the Prasad,till date i haven't had any problems after eating those laddus. Really a phenomenal experience!

We once went on trip to Rajasthan so visited Bikaner and also this Karni mata temple. Its true that there are soo many rats but the beauty is that they dont harm you at all, they are on their own running here and there. The temple and it's premises too are very beautiful.❤️
Recent incident- Bikaner is near to India's largest firing range area. There is army area in Bikaner. About 18 years ago, bombs started to explode in army area and there were many truck 🚚 loaded with bombs 💣. Bombs were started shooting towards main city but not a single death in that accident. That time, People donated many things on the name of करनी माता. करनी माता की जय. 😊
