FINALLY a review that is NOT on a consumer camera with these and PROPER 4 perf sup 35... I have a Red Gemini and I AM DYING to see these OPEN GATE 30mmx18mm so a bit wider than the Arri.
Thanks for these tests! I've kinda been sceptical about these lenses, as there's been a lot of hype around them - but the more I see, the more I feel they're not quite there yet as a set. 45 and 65 look usable but the 100 is probably too soft for critical professional work.
Hey thanks for watching - Yeah I 100% agree with you, I feel like they'd be really nice for certain projects but definitely not for most. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, I did not have time to shim them, but this might solve that softness issue on the 100mm.
@@romain_do yeah - although it seems to be the same story across other people's tests, even after shimming it's dramatically softer. Guess you sorta have to consider the pricing - but I'd have been happy to pay a bit more on these and have slightly better optics
Did you end up shooting your project on these? Any additional thoughts? From your test footage, the 45 and 65 have the look that I like, will have to shim my 100 if it ever shows up!
Hey - no unfortunately we did not shoot on those! Yeah the 45-65 are nice I think. I want to test the 100 again but shimmed, it appears that the performances are drastically improved. Do you know when you’re getting yours ?
A shiiit maybe ! Didn’t watch any other reviews as I was not interested in those lenses prior testing them! Thanks for taking the time to share your thought man !

Thanks man ! Yeah post up some footage when you get your 45 ;)
@@romain_do I think I may try and film my own review and test when I do- Thank you again
Would be really curious to see this in a real world environment on Alexa mini! Like with night city lights or sunset & foliage in the background
If I can get my hands on the set again I’ll try to make this happen !

yes it does - i shmmed them all and they are great now. I agree that the 100mm is soft, but when u stop down to 4 then you can absolutly use them

Focus breathing is completely normal on any anamorphic lens
I want the 45 but not the whole set hah!
Yeah the 45 is criiiisp. The size also makes it easy to use it in more run n gun scenarios which is super nice.
yeah I am going for that one first def think on sup35 (4perf) its perfect for the low price
Look at you two cuties being all cute in front of the cam!
Who dis
You need to shim the lens
100%
The most useless review ever. Sorry man but is a loop and repeat the same exact words of every review out here on yt.
