You are a natural at teaching--even if this is only a video and not live, it's obvious that you are a teacher by profession. Thanks for sharing your skills with us.
I have been making pop-ups since I was 10 today. I am 63 I have always been making one piece type pop-ups. There are many restrictions in that type of designs but after watching this video, I have learnt the principles behind the design. Great.
@@thepop-upchannel4919 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). And the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23), and the punishment of sin is eternal damnation. But Jesus, the Son of God dwelt among us in the flesh, lived a perfect life, and died for our sins in the cross so that the fine and penalty of our sins will be paid, so that He may give us eternal life and save us---those who will put their faith in Jesus and what He did for us not in their good works or themselves and those who will repent from their sins (turning from every sins) and will actively follow Jesus every day and chooses to have a living saving faith(not just faith but also has works, see James 2:14-26).
I'm looking forward to getting your book and watching more of your videos. This looks like fun! I had a Cinderella pop up book when I was little that was so fantastic! I have loved them since that time.
thank you so much for making pop-ups an easy thing to learn and create as most of the courses online cost too much and make it look like a very big and professional task, but you have really shown how easily these can be made
This is an amazing ressource. The only thing I have yet to understand is wihch angles you are talking about. I have ordered the book to see if it'll help me with it :)
You'd need to tell me at exactly what point in the video you find it confusing - then I might be able to answer. Hopefully the book will make things clear.
@@thepop-upchannel4919 It's difficult to explain, but I do think my main problem is understanding what angles you are talking about with the different folds. Is it the angle from the base center line to each side of the shape, the angle between the two sides of the shape, etc. For example at 15:00 you say "according to the angles you made" and point somewhere, but I don't really register which angles you mean :)
At 15.00 when I say "the angles you made" I mean the angles on the pop-up piece. Try experimenting - make a V-Fold piece with small angles and another piece with big angles then see what is possible with each one. In the video (at 15.00) I demonstrate how the angles on the page can be bigger or smaller but the amount bigger or smaller that will work depends on the size of the angles on the pop-up piece.
Very enjoyable to learn! Thank you for this wonderful work sir. Bought your book and looking to master these popups. I just have a small doubt regarding the size of the folds. Is there any way to check if the folds cross the base and appear outside when the base is closed? or simply to put it, is there any way we can make the folds without letting them go outside the base card limit? Thanks again!
Sometimes you can hold the card against the base in what would be its closed position and see if it juts out - otherwise it's probably necessary to make a prototype to check that evrything fits within the base - or you can add a larger "cover" stuck to the base which will make the whole thing a bit bigger but will ensure that nothing sticks out.
Me encanta su canal y he apendido mucho gracias a usted!
Sir just a little doubt. What should be the ratio between the base paper size and the size of paper we use for pop up so that pop up don't run out of base when we close it?
There is no ratio - the way to work it out is just by trying it. Usually to make a complicated pop-up you'll need to make a few trial examples to see how the different lengths and angles work and, if necessary, adjust them.
The contents of the books are exactly the same - the blue cover was just the publisher giving the book a slightly newer image. I talk briefly about this in "Book Notes" between Tutorials 57 and 58.
How to make the "orange guy" is explained in Tutorial 3 at 10.46. The Counterfolds which are used to make the arms and legs move are explained in Tutorial 22.

what about a smaller pop up book.

cool
what is the tune in the end of the video?
I don't know - it's something Jane picked out of the You Tube list of available tunes.
How do you make the legs for the red man
Add small Counterfolds (Tutorial 22) to the sides of the man's body. Then stick the legs onto the counterfolds.

"no need to measure, just cut it in half"
-Proceeds to cut the paper in half accurately down to the atoms just by eye.
Either a fluke, or the result of years of practice! But really it doesn't have to be exact!
