They harassed me for years over irrelevant subjects. One was a senior man, the other a middle-aged woman. Imagine going out of your way to get on someone's nerves because this person (myself) doesn't drive, or because of an incident between herself and her father from ...1980! 😬💯
I have the very same reaction. Anyone who would send such messages is a loser who thinks s/he is elevating him/herself by criticizing someone's appearance. Absolutely cruel and pathetic.

The viewer was obviously trying to help her, not harass her. Sometimes people don’t realize how bad they look and need an outside observer to straighten them out.
When my first wife was getting a little fat in the ass I would purposely wear her jeans to let her know that it was time hit the treadmill and drop some of the blubber.

I lived in Calgary back in the late 90s and up until about 2005. I remember watching Leslie on the morning news. She was always a firecracker. And obviously a personality you don't want to mess with. Good for her taking a stand against online harassment .

My mom had her uterus removed because of cancer, too. And some people made fun of her, saying she was no longer a woman. But good for Leslie. She's a survivor and a class act.
Why in the world would anyone make fun of someone for this? They must not have learned, yet, that everyone eventually has misfortune hit their lives. They can only hope when it does, that people will be kinder to them than they were to your mother. I can never understand why some people can be mean to others for no reason. Hope your mom is doing well now.

There should be a legal consequence for online bullying. Did the reporter say the same person had sent her inappropriate emails for years? No on should have to put up with that!
Canada has laws regarding online bullying, plus there is no first amendment. It sounds like the content of the emails would not meet the criminal definition in their law. There have been several cases in Canada where on line bullies who were the catylst for youth suicides have landed in jail for significant time.
That is silly, you can't hold someone criminally responsible (no matter how terrible their comments are) for simply sending messages because that will destroy freedom of speech. Then where does it stop? How does it stop? The law has been known to get an inch and take 3 miles, think a little more carefully before making these silly comments.
When we give up (seemingly) small rights, it gives way to future revocation of bigger laws/rights. Judging by how many likes you have on this comment after only 4 days of it being up shows how the world is going to forfeit these rights. In the end when the opportunity presents itself as legislation "for the common good" as they like to say, our rights are flushed down the proverbial toilet. No one can make you do anything, your only influenced as far as you let someone influence you. You have every right to block this person or take other action against a stupid person that decides to do such things.
The troll probably posts from the anonymity of a VPN. If he’s smart (and that’s not a given), his true identity will never be discovered.

I had my hysterectomy when I was 31, so I fully understand how it changes your body. Not just internally, but externally, too.
I'm really proud of this beautiful lady for calling out her troll on TV, as it needed to be done. I've been calling out trolls for many years now, because I just can't stand bullies no matter the name used to describe them. They're pathetic little children that have never grown up past the playground age, and they need to be put in their place. I've noticed that, usually, calling them out gets them to back off. The ones that continue, I just block, as I've said my peace, and don't need to listen to any more of their blah-blah-blah!

Thank God you got it out in time, before it took your life. Sadly, I lost my sister to uterine cancer ten yrs ago @ the young age of 52. Her doctor had recommended a hysterectomy due to her heavy monthly periods, but since she was single & dreamed of meeting the One & being a Mother someday, she didn’t heed to her doctors recommendation. I only wish she had. I miss her so ! Especially, this time of year. God Bless you with Great health in 2024 ! 😘🙏💐👍🤙

In one of the local news, it was stated that she received another email. She said, she not gonna respond to it and said, "I'll let "SOMEONE" handle it.
Had kidney surgery last year to remove a mass. I was lucky and am always glad to see someone else who survived their cancer. Congrats to Leslie Horton for surviving cancer and coming through it strong enough to deal with anything else that life throws at her, even bullies and idiots.

I was unable to respond like I wanted and should, just paid the attorney fees and closed off the whole situation. I’m 72 years old and conflict makes me close down. Good for you news reporter! Leslie has been an on-air personality here in Calgary for decades. And an absolutely, unshakeable , unbreakable , air of positivity for as long as we have all basked in the glow of her omnipresent smile. The fact that some troll'n , loser , bully ,with such obvious low self esteem ,would even attempt to crack that smile and shatter her pride and confidence , is simply a laughable fools endeavour.

There should be consequences. Calling it Bullying makes it not sound as bad as it is. It’s evil, cruel, hateful, abuse. The abuser is abusing other people too, maybe physically, and should be investigated. Verbal abuse is also harmful and should be punished.
