I’ve never been a fan of backwards coasters, but this being a portion of the overall ride is intriguing
I just went yesterday with my daughter and trust me... this new version is sick af! So intense.

update: I was the 6th train dispatched on opening day. I am very glad to report they do indeed play the f1 theme outside the queue

you can see it with the theming, designs, music, and merch that it’s centered around f1. while I was at the park on the 4th and 5th there was some really cool merch in the shop that was based off of an f1 suit/jersey
I rode it this week. The back row has an awesome view on the spire. That second of weightlessness is insane. Can’t wait to try front row next time.

I really loved the yellow and red supports, but the new color scheme makes it pop more tbh.
Zamperla isn’t tame at all they make some of the most unhinged flat rides like the giga discoverys
I think you're right. CP acts like Wild Mouse is a family coaster. I think it's a pretty stout little ride. intense spin

I went to Cedar Point on opening day and I loved it. They have so many good coasters and I love them all. Top Thrill 2 is the best ride ever and it is always worth the wait. I can’t wait to go there all the time in the summer

I don’t get why they didn’t take this time to add 10 more ft in the height so they can reclaim the tallest coaster from Kingda Ka .
Because modifying the tophat at all would be crazy expensive, make the already intense roll down the tophat even more intense, and would be pointless because falcons flight is supposed to open next year.
@@justinsimons5633 it would make sense if you were going for the title again of highest coaster but yes you are right about Falcons Flight opening so that would be a waste.
The new launch system is definitely capable. It would have to be raised by around 40 more feet to take the crown back. I would love it

Rod this on day 1 with little expectation to enjoy it as much at the original. But I was very happy to be wrong. In theory, I felt it would be lacking the “umpf” that make the original so good. I was so wrong. J could easily understand someone liking this one even more than the first. I’m damn near close to that
I see a lot of mixed opinions on this ride too, sadly I can't really compare to the original since I never rode it and I haven't gone on kingda ka either. I hopefully will ride TT2 this summer so I'll be able to judge if this is a good ride or not, I honestly wouldn't see why not.
They need to tear this junk down immediately
I used to work at ceader point. I started working there the year Top Thrill was opened. I remember my first time riding. I'm not a fan of roller coasters or heights. So yes I was terrified.
Man I hope I can get back to cedar point one day. I went in 2015 and 2018 and I loved every second. I loved dragster so much, TT2 looks great.
I just rode it on Friday in the back row. Incredible. But rough. STILL AMAZING.
When I went there millennium force was brand new. Awesome roller coaster

Just remember, there will be metal detectors. No phones, bags, glasses will need to be secure or not worn, basically anything that can fall and hurt someone cannot go on with you.
Basically all roller coasters will be like this soon with how intense new ones are but its worth it imo

The 3 launches are better than the 1 launch. HOWEVER, the seats sit higher above the track than they did before. The coaster wobbles harder and it took me by surprise. Overall it's barely better than the old one. It would be golden if they lowered the seats.

Honestly it seems terrifying but I have season passes and am going on that thing wether I like it or not I’d say maybe warm up with some smaller coasters then go on millennial force then it wouldn’t be as scary

Nah, has a mild rattle but not much to disturb you on the ride.

@@Jimmylovessalt Not at all, Top Thrill Dragster was smoother than Kingda Ka, but the launch was still not smooth and had a bit of a rattle to it. Some launched roller coasters are rougher than this.

Im sorry, 101mph BACKWARDS launch up a 420ft backspike!? Jesus i just rode pantheon on bush gardens 3 times in a row and its nothing in height to this montrosity.... Hell griffon is the tallest drop in the in the park at just over 210ft feet, thats HALF of the freaking backspike on this thing!
What happened to the og top thrill
2 years ago, a lady got hit in the head from a metal piece that broke apart from the train. Also due to the breakdowns, they had to shut it down to change it.

Is it really a new ride if you take the original, repaint it, and make a slight modification to how it operates?
Yes. The first ride had a launch up to 120 miles per hour in atleast 4 seconds. The new ride has 3 launches, first launch 74 miles per hour, second 101 backwards, third 120 forwards. To make that backwards element they had to add a spike that is NEW and is also 420 feet high in the air like the Top Hat. Including a new launch system.
So if you are really asking, YES, this is a new ride. Its experience is longer than the original’s experience, the old one was about 30 seconds, new one is about 1 minute, or 2 seconds counting the break run.
It’s really different. Unfortunately.
I'm not really a big fan of the grey they used. They should have just used Blue on the supports just like the station to give it a pop of color much like Dragster did with its yellow.
Pretty sure they used grey to make it match with the rest of the park to make it pop a bit.

Just buy the Fast Pass Plus. It’s worth it. I know it’s $145 but you get one ride on TT2 with less than a 30 min wait. That line will be 4 hours long every day in May and June. For 2 min. Get the pass.

Ride it first. The ride has a bit of a rattle but not much to make you notice, depending if you are old or not.
