    I can confirm the mesa xl for RVing is a perfect size for heat and cooking. The campfire model accessories fit the mesa xl version.

    A jetboil will boil water faster than not only a solo stove or open fire, but also most other gas powered cookstoves. The Solo Mesa is intended for ambiance, roasting s'mores or hot dogs, and a bit of hand warmth when it's chilly out. At least that's my impression; I have both.

      I have the camp version and you can find twigs and small wood pieces almost everywhere. Gas maybe not so rofl

    The solo is a table top fire pit, not a stove per se. Put an X support on it and it would be awesome. You can make one in 5 min with some sheet metal and a hack saw. Just cut a kerf half way through the center of both and cross lap them. It'll still be sooty, because it's designed for the ambience of a nice soothing yellow smokeless flame. I'm not sure, but it would make sense that the actual stoves they sell would be designed a little differently so they would burn more efficiently for a cleaner cooking experience.

    The area you are in looks so beautiful and fun. Great place for a solo stove fire!

    You can even put an alcohol burner to cook with on days it snows, rains, hails, or icey days. :)

    If you have the mesa, order the cooking ring for the titans and viola your mesa is a titan

    I got the Titan. Sticks are better than pellets for me. I got the put it fits inside. I like it so far. I think this will be good for preppers. Gas bottles might be hard to find.

      Yeah, I bought some pellets but definitely prefer twigs. The pellets are fine for the first burn but once you start adding to it it kinda smothers the fire.

    I have a Mesa also and love it. I wish it came with a ring to put pot or pan on. I’m also curious about the lite

    the solo titan pot /pan piece of the solo titan fits perfectly on top of the solo messa which in makes this a camping stove. the ring does not.

    5:20 I always thought it worked like ... The Gases from the wood, are released and the bottom holes push air and the gases up to the top holes...and you get a secondary burn...

      @forestadventureswithscott8777  Год назад +2

      I believe you are right. I ordered the cook top for the Titan to be able to boil water on the trail. I’m convinced it will work better.

    You can even put a canister burner inside the mesa stove. It will mimic a windscreen.

    I never saw the mesa as anything but a tabletop fire pit. I don’t think it’s marketed as a cook stove. Is it?

      Actually it’s pretty good if you purchase the Titan cook top. The way I tested it in this video isn’t ideal until the mod.

    Have the Walmart Backpack $39.00. Works flawlessly. Half the price.

      I got a great deal on the 511. Yes, it was more than $39 but I was able to buy it local from an independent dealer. I’ve had cheaper backpacks in the past and over time the stiching and/or zippers always fail under heavy use. The old adage ‘you get what you pay for’ definitely applies to heavy use outdoor gear. But I say, get what you can afford. The main thing is to just be out there!!

    Does this little stove emit much radiant heat sitting nearby it?

  • @mariotedjo16

    You did it wrong way. Never put your twigs higher than secondary burner hole.

      Been using it for a few months now. I usually let it burn down and put the ring on top. But, I’ve actually switched to pellets.

      I have a bonfire it’s almost impossible to stay under and it makes little difference

  • @kiethlowry2862

    Your stove needs the elevation ring to hold the pot off the top of the stove. I have the bonfire stove and cooks steaks very quickly.

    Hey maybe not start a huge ass fire on on it to begin with? It only takes a couple things to start it.

  • @ExposedRoot
    @ExposedRoot Месяц назад

    It literally takes 2 minutes to start a fire and you don't need even half of that much tinder. You're outside guy but your fire starting skills are kind of weird and I'm a chick from Queens play the fire at no point needs to be spilling over the rain you started that like you're starting a bonfire or a campfire and that is absolutely not necessary at all. This is for hand warming or ambience but not a cook stove
