For me the live action was really bad but im glad some people enjoyed it, I hope they do a better job with season 2 because it has some of my fav moments but they messed some already. Btw Katara’s grandma is not a waterbender, she is the only bender in the whole tribe, she said it in the first episode

I'm a long time fan of the original, but Netflix has made the Avatar universe much more thought-out and appealing to me

@@RouxReacts As a compromise you can watch the M. Knight Shyamalan Avatar movie 😂. It is the stuff of urban legends😂. But please do ask your audience if they want to see you suffer 🤣🤣🤣

I also think you should watch all the seasons of the cartoon before watching the live action because Netflix used stuff from the general lore (even comics and novels). It was a tricky balance to capture the charm of the cartoon but at the same time make it more serious and adult-oriented, I think they did a good job.

I give netflix’s Avatar the last Airbender tv series 9/10 which is 8 about 1hr episodes. They attempted to combine 20 episodes into 7hrs+ of television. I loved it, my entire family enjoys it.

      I’d give it about 5/10

@@kohanu95 11/10. It fleshed out the universe a lot more, and it finally made characters a lot more believable and well-rounded.

@@almas4663 disagree, several characters felt flat, pacing was weird, and too many unnecessary changes that didn’t add to the story

@@kohanu95 Characters were richer and more realistic than the animated ones, especially Aang, Bumi, Katara, Azula, Yue and Hahn.
Aang and Katara were too careless, annoying, and americanized in the original, Yue and Hahn were flat and stereotypical, and Bumi was just a lazy trope of a goofy old man who's was actually wise all along.
In all cases, the Netflix series has made them richer, and has made them into more real people.
The pacing was a LOT better with all the fillers cut out and the stories being tied together in a narrative rhyme.
And the new details and changes made the worldbuilding much more compelling and rich
