Hello Ben Seymour. Hil Seymour here. That Five Star clip is hilarious, especially when they're dancing in the office. "Good afternoon, Pebble Mill? Oh, one moment please caller, I've just got Five Star dancing around my desk, would you please hold the line?"
The format reappeared after a year's break as 'Daytime Live' from autumn 1987 for 3 years.. Then there was a year of 'Scene Today' for 1990-91, with more focus on showbiz. Then the new 'Pebble Mill' chat show began in 1991. The show was also know simply as "Pebble Mill" from 1974 to 1979.
i had the biggest crush on doris from 5 star shes still a stunner...pity steedman couldnt keep away from cottaging in toilets and messed up 5 stars chances off worldwide success. :( they were still one of the best uk soul/dance groups though
It’s unfair to lump the blame entirely on poor Steadman and his peccadillos. The group were extremely reckless with money and their father-manager didn’t always make the soundest business decisions.
If the 80s were not such an awful place to be gay in, maybe steedman wouldn’t have felt it necessary to subvert his sexuality into something shameful and secretive.
@@benseymour3242 I don't think you get my humour on this. The whole show is so Alan Partridge esque. The format the style. This show was made for Partridge imo.it was a show he could of made if he was around at the time! Infact his show knowing me knowing you was like a parody of pebble mill imo.
Ahhh Pebble mill at One, the staple diet of every skivving childs TV viewing..lol, cheers for uploading
That is so true, well of me anyway!

Hil Seymour hello. Leave off the amazing five star. They are pop gods. Thank you. Xxxx

it took 4 years to r pm what
Only a year later and Michael Fish was saying there wouldn't be a hurricane
Visiting the site today.
One thing that never changes is the weather still cold, rainy, snowy, windy well thats the UK for you
must add great theme tune pebble mill
You can't beat the original theme tune by Raymond Le Fevre which was used until 1979.
Pebble Mill, looked like my secondary school.
Back in the old days of 4 channel TV and whatever nonsence was recorded on the VHS.
I live in the same city but by the time 2010 came along the good old mill went to demolishation
Infamous Paul Shane and Mike Holloway duet happened on the show in 96.
Not on the 'Proper Pebble Mill at One' - that's was the 1990s Judi Spiers, Alan Titmarsh and Ross King presented reboot.
I've seen a number of duets performed on Pebble Mill down the years and not just Paul and Mike.

Doris posts videos on RUclips every so often.

What happened to the VHS tapes sound during 5 star, or was that on the broadcast - if so, shocking
That Kane & Abel trailer, I forgot how long and (for want of a better word) "explainy" they were. There's almost no need to watch the series :D
My goodness, Michael Fish is aged 42 here !
5Star. A couple of good tracks but look how they ended up.
They had a lot of hits
What's the name of the bloke doing the Eamon Andrews impersonation?
Got it, Phil Cool !
Phil Cool
"The last and final time" Great bit of cheesy tautology.
Not being funny....this wasn't the last ever Pebble Mill At One....it was revived five years later, for a few years!!
anthony bailey it was revived in 1991 under the name “Pebble Mill”. So it was the last “Pebble Mill at One”.
What happened to Paul Coia
Went on to present Catchword, a quiz show. And married Debbie Greenwood the lucky fellow.
I had such a crush on him
Why did the BBC shut down P.M at 1 for , madness...
The building had what is known as 'concrete cancer' and had become unsafe to use and was beyond repair.
7:20 worst knock-off of Treasure Hunt I've ever seen....
5 star certainly sounded like crap on this video, the boy who phoned Saturday superstore was right
The boy was a moron
Big bomber in the background.
imdb says 1996
xneverwalkalonex "Pebble Mill at One" finished in '86. It was relaunched in '91 called "Pebble Mill" which ended in '96.
Ah, ok, i probably should have remembered that.
plus five star were pretty hot in 1986 lol

Alan partridge should have presented this show.
No way. Only quality presenters were allowed! Plus he would have been a bairn in short shorts at the time.
