I'm not a huge baseball guy, so I'll be honest. I never knew of Tyler Skaggs until his passing. Even still, I found myself tearing up to this interview. His impact was clearly so profound on his teammates, friends, and family. RIP Tyler Skaggs

Huge Ranger fan here, but I was pulling for the Angels in this game. It’s just a game, and means very little in the grand scheme of things, but for them to play and win for Tyler means a lot. It won’t make the pain go away, but they came together and played their hearts out for him. RIP Tyler!
It seemed both teams were out of sorts for that game, not just the Angels (of course they would be), but the Rangers seemed affected by his passing as well, in a real way.

It is going to take a long time to cope with losing another family member but I know this team one day at a time is going to get stronger and stronger for their family and for Tyler.

Average or not someone taking their life should not be looked past because they went "28-38" in the major league as a pitcher. He was still part of the team and interacted with everyone on the team which left the impact. It's not getting blown up, its just people showing respect for someone who has lost their life.

Angels fan since birth. I used to ride my bike, down the riverbed, to the big A, and around Autry way, in the early 80's. Skaggs was my favorite pitcher on the current roster. Now we have another Angel in the family. Rest In Peace, my brother.

Santa Monica High School (Santa Monica, Calif.) alumni member here. Just like Tyler was. His loss has effected all of us alumni members, and current students. Hoping the autopsy and maybe toxicology tests will make some sense of his passing. It doesn't make sense right now!! There are a lot of unanswered questions right now, to all of us! :( Just waiting for his cause of death. Hoping he did not suffer, and died in his sleep. Hoping he went quick! Maybe it was a spider bite, or a allergic reaction to something he ate, or a brain aneurysm. There are so many things that mighta ended his life. He was an Angel on the baseball diamond, and hopefully, he is an angel in Heaven. May he Rest In Peace. :(
my love songs Brain Aneurysm is what I am betting on. Last I heard he collapsed while changing his clothes. He missed an optional training and didn’t answer at roll call. Wife tried calling him and no answers.

It's almost impossible to believe that he's gone when he just pitched a few days ago. I can't imagine what it would be like to come into the locker room that next day after he passed and seeing #45's locker look the same as the day before. If you're Skagg's wife, how on earth do you explain to your little girl why your dad won't be coming home anymore? Just heart breaking

Not sure who’s the longest tenure angels but having trout and Calhoun the ones available for questions was smart. I’m a dodger fan so I’ve known about them as oppose to the rest of the team, but Tyler was another player I was familiar with. It truly breaks my heart to hear about his passing at such a young age. I’m a few months away from my 27th birthday and it’s hard to hear that this young man is gone. Also hurts a little more because of a former friend who was an angel fan passed away a few years ago so some old feelings definitely resurfaced. Here’s to Tyler and his family and friends and to the Angels organization May they truly heal with time and may Tyler Rest In Peace.

People can assume that these men are being fake.... because of the off and on tears, but consider this.... men arent encouraged to show emotions. So we follow that programming to stay strong in front of others as a man... but when they started really answering questions and envisioning the finality of never playing with their friend again... all of the moments and memories that were made...knowing those are the last ones and no more will be made... they had moments where they welled up because every man is still a boy in his heart when it comes to how hard we love. We bleed too... we feel... we love.

One thing I took out of this is that we never know when it could be a your last day or a friend's last day. So if you're a ball player of any age, play with your friends like its your last game with them. Have fun. Because like what Trout said, it's just a game at the end of the day.
