I began painting when I turned 70, went to the art store and bought Heaven knows how many colors. While I still mix colors, your video injected a hefty shot of adventure into what I think I can do, and I thank you for that.
I just hit 60 and have been tinkering with painting for the last 5 years .. and didn't get seriously into it until i bumped into a bob Ross show on ytube.. thats what got me going ,at least i can leave something behind my descendants might make some money off of..Everyone knows artists usually die before they become famous and their art finally is worth something ,God forbid..hahaha
You’re clearly a natural teacher! I like the longer content, I find it more thorough and relaxed. You’re so easy to listen to that the time just flies anyway
Its really not a simple process for a painter but it creates a world of possibilities for creating a personal painting world. If think I have an eye for color at the basic level and Im really excited to try. These kinds of videos make it possible and I feel like I have a lot of enjoyment ahead. Thank you for having a passion for art and for people to learn it.

These are colors I have never even seen before. Telling when you use them is so helpful. You are only in the yellows with more to go!, 👍🏼👍🏼 Think of the money we can save by learning these colors. 💰💰 Think of the money we can save just by learning this. 😊
As a beginner i struggle to mix colours and i lost my confidence. Saw many RUclips videos. Nothing helped. BUT YOUR VIDEOS ARE SIMPLY AMAZING. What a Teacher you're.❤❤❤. I found you late but will not miss hereafter. I like all your detailed explanation videos. Pls post more art works in a detailed video.... I wish you should get millions and millions of Subscribers and You should be there in millions of people's Art. You will Definitely be in Mine❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you for your kind words and support! I’m glad to hear that this video was helpful to you! Welcome to my channel and I hope you’ll find lots of value here 😊🎨👍
I absolutely love how u mentioned where the shades can be used like for trees, highlights, for the sky and all ... and really enjoyed it throughout.. tough its a big demonstration ... didn't get bored for a second
I think a phthalo blue is a better blue to use for color mixing generally, because it is a truer primary. Ultramarine, is so warm, when lightened with white it becomes more like periwinkle than a true light blue. Nothing against ultramarine at all, just commenting with respect to those new to color theory, and learning about color mixing. But you are also showing, how you like to mix and use colors, so there’s some subjectivity shown also. I love how you made the different shades of brown.
Filik, I'm happy you are teaching people how to mix colors with basic primer colors. Red, yellow, blue adding white and sometimes black. I have been using primary color for forty years. I was a billboard sign painting for 15 years in my younger days. I had to use primers buckets of enamel paint to mix colors using a process color guide . Now I know what to mix to get the color I want to paint like a pro. . . I guess I am. Sure saves from buying all those paint tubs. My artist friends use all of the verity of color. Why don't they tackle what we all did in grammar school. Primary, secondary and beyond. Thank you for this great lesson. I don't thing any other art teacher reviews this on RUclips.
Ur a wonderful teacher . Only tutorial so far I have seen where every detail is shown clearly starting from mixing the colours. Glad I found ur tutorial. Thsnx. I'm a beginner 60 plus just started to paint on my own watching tutorials.
Feliks, you did a great job. As an acrylic abstract painter of many years, I love doing colour charts (at this point) for relaxing play and inspiration. I notice your chart used 3 "warm" primaries, hence lovely clear colours and neutrals - bravo. You might want to mention the ubiquitous colour temperature factor for the undocrinated. Thank you for being very clear, and pleasant.
Hello, I just responded at length to your terrific information and my computer ate it! Sorry, I'm out of time right now but please know that I much appreciate your sharing of this and would love to hear more on your colour perspectives. Ciao for now.@@aristotle_4532
I am a watercolour Artist wanting to branch out and try acrylics. This video was very helpful for me and i thank you for your patience in making and demonstrate the colour mixing.
AWESOME!!! And your right, I need to learn how to mix my paints instead of just using the color I want out of the tube, it WILL make me a better artist!! Thank you so much for this and all you teach!!
Thanks really helpful. Because as a beginner artist I'm having difficulty how to mix colors to get the color you want. Now I'm gonna make my own colour palette. 🎨
So very helpful! To actually see not only the mixing of a few basic colors and "what you get", but your explanation of how you use them. Great tutorial and directions to go in. Thank you!
This tutorial was very hepful Feliks. I do struggle with mixing colours so I will be referring to this chart very often. Thank you for your dedication and the enthusiasm you show in your tutorials!!
I like the way you show the colors and the amounts that you are mixing for a color. I have watched your videos and you do the same. I find this most informative and helpful. Thank You.
You just solved a lot of my paint mixing problems!! Your videos & tutorials are very informative & I watch all of them, sometimes over and over! Thank you for sharing your talent.
Video extremely beneficial. I have been very timid with learning how to mix colors and therefore shied away from it. I was intimidated by them. Breaking down the simplicity of primary colors I am actually comfortably LEARNING how to use them. Thanks to your patrons for suggesting this video. It is great.
I just started painting. My original medium is colored pencils. Now, your tutorial is the very first one I tried with my brand new Golden set. Thank you for sharing this tutorial!!!
i have been painting over 10 years, but did not actually understand the colors as much as i understand it now from your video,, love it so much, so helpful
Your tutorials and paintings have inspired me to paint more. I love your wet technique and clear explanation. I am addicted to watching your painting tutorials. I just subscribed and also purchased your brush bundle set and T white paint. So happy for you to be successful in the art world. I have been drawing and painting for years, but seeing your work has re-ignited my passion. Thank you and God Bless!
Just watched this, I understand about colors so much better than zI ever had. Thank you so much. Love watching you paint your are truley a great artist
I have just been watching of late. This episode of mixing colors is great, with the sun shining through the windows it helps me see the colors you are mixing. When you move the pallet just right, I am able to see the mixed colors you are speaking of. Thank you for your willingness to help us understand.
Thank you so much for doing this video Feliks. I’m new to painting and this helps a lot. If you do anymore videos like this I’ll definitely benefit from it 🙋🏼♀️❤️
I so appriciate the way you talk, so calm and detailed information. As a teacher myself I find it super relaxing ;) Good job Feliks, I am so happy I've found you ;)
What an amazing teacher and artist you are! I am a new to painting and found this so helpful! You have such an amazing soothing voice! Can’t wait to watch your other videos!
Excellent tutorial. Thank you for sharing. You presented this very well, easy to follow and understand the fundamentals of color blending with painting. Please don’t stop teaching. I appreciate your grace for sharing and your artwork as well. Again, thank you.
Thank you so much...really helps a beginner, beginner with color mixing. I have read that adding white can make hues look 'chalky' but your demonstration did not look chalky...do you have an opinion about that? Many thanks and please keep on making videos!!
Great tutorial, I've said it before and will say it again your a lovely young man and you have a great nature and of course an excellent ARTIST 👏 😁 Fab I enjoyed listening to you😀🎨
You are so wonderful!!!! I’ve watched many of your videos . Your voice soothing and so informed, what a talent , what a treasure . Your videos are so appreciated. Best wishes to you !
I have a question. You (and many others) use this bright blue and a red for mixing colors, but printer ink is with cyan and magenta. Why is it so and would you recommend using your way of mixing with primary colors or is it also a way to go with cyan and magenta? I know both works well but maybe there are pros and cons in both ways which are important for certain artists or techniques (etc.) :)
Love your explanations. Very soothing voice you have. This really shows the high quality of heavy body Golden paints. I am sold. Also fyi Winsor/Newton acrylics dry as they look and not a shade darker like most acrylics. Good job Feliks!
I absolutely love the way you led your video with a very passive patient voice and intentions! I definitely learned a lot from you today! Thank you so much!!!
EXTREMELY helpful coloring mixing information ❤️🙏 Thank you. i’ve purchased your paints. i cant wait to play with all the colors. i was surprised that the tubes are bigger then other’s standards size of paint tubes. You offer so much helpful information thanks a million ❤️🌹👍🏼
Thank you for sharing your knowledge in mixing colors . It looks so easy but it is because you have much experience. I’ll going to need a lot of practice and a good memory, . You are a great teacher.😍😍 Blessings!!
Not that I know anything other than what I learned at school but I didn't know your could use black and yellow to make green very surprised. Also really enjoying your course at the moment, up to the Foggy Forrest so needed to know how to get the colours as I don't have my paint set yet. Love watching you. :)
Thank you for tutorial 😊 I always got difficult to blend and mix color. You teach really clear and not so fast as other. So really helpful for beginner like me🙂
This has been such a helpful and informative video. Thank you. I am just now studying color theory and I've learned new ways to create new shades. You also let me know that it's okay to experiment!
A brilliant tutorial! It's obvious that color energizes you. I looked at your selection of videos and you appear to be intrigued by some of the same subjects. I love seeing isolated windows and doors; paths and stairways leaving the imagination to develop where they might be leading; single trees as the focus in the landscape; and a forest of trees, especially tree trunks. It might sound like I'm a lonely guy, but really I'm not. I simply love the Idea of the viewer, myself included, finishing the story in our minds. I like and enjoy your work and your teaching technique. Thank you. 5/3/19 Oops, I forgot. I like the pallet you are using. Is it possible for you to tell me the name and brand and where you purchased it? Another thank you.
It wasn’t an accident I clicked your video, I’ve watched in the past. Apparently RUclips knows and is reminding me ;) Thanks, I guess, RUclips. Thanks for sure to ColorByFeliks 👀

Thank you Felixs.. very nice of you and extremely well done!
Thanks a lot!
Thank you for this amazing video!! Very much helpful and so peaceful too, I really needed that right now!
Many people struggle to make purple using blue and red. However,I learned that you need to use magenta to achieve that color .
Use Crimson red or Quinacridone red plus ultramarine blue to give you a good shade of purple .
If you use Scarlet red you will get a muddy purple
That's cuz red is not true primary. Magenta is.
Red+Black, and later yellow :) Looks good
BRO YOU BORN FOR THIS
I just started watching your videos and I really like the way you teach. Thank you.
