- Charlie Daniels Band performs "The Devil Went Down To Georgia" live at the Farm Aid concert in Champaign, Illinois on September 22, 1985. Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Dave Matthews joined Farm Aid's board of directors in 2001.

This talented North Carolina native should be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. He's a member of the Grand Ole Opry and the Musician's Hall of Fame but not the former.
He was inducted last year, at long last.
Country Music Hall Of Fame doesnt mean a damn thing anyway. Anyone alive and with working ears (even just one ear) knows that Charlie Daniels band is legendary. He doesnt need an induction to any watered down Hall of Fame like the Country Music Hall of Fame.

@@ashleyerchavez3789 I did everything with him except the pillow for awhile in 1998, He was great I loved him then he went away for some reason I don;t know why been missing him ever since, I didnt even know he was Charlie daniels he went by another name then every time he told me his full name he said it like he was mad his daddy named him that and I was like okay dude calm down lets just go do what we do every night he was the best and my head was to messed up to know anything I aways hoped Id run into my cowboy again and now he is dead. I loved him.

I met Charlie at a local walmart I worked at..had my picture taken with him..then in 2006 2007 I went to his concert at the New River Air Station in Jacksonville NC…he was an awesome human being
