JI Case 1570 Plowing In The Garden

- In the video, we do some plowing in the garden with the Case 1570. Dad has a 5-16 Case Steerable plow that we hooked up behind the 1570. It doesn't fit quite right behind the tractor but we made it work. There was some times where Dad drove a little wide but it doesn't matter cuz we are in the garden.

That's one big garden.
My grandfather had that tractor. Word has it he carried me as a baby while chopping silage. When I fell asleep he’d put me in a blanket behind the seat. Thatnks for sharing!
Thanks for watching and sharing!
If your plough is rising out of the ground, as you go forward, I'd say that the sensitivity of the load and depth control is set too high - dial it back to get a more consistent depth. I assume a tractor this large is lower link sensing ? The forward speed would also have a bearing on the depth, since draught will increase with forward speed, so basically to maintain an even depth, maintain an even speed.
Now that's GARDENING!! for the win !
BIG garden!
That plow you have built for the 30's series case tractors, looks like a JR model case plow. Nice job of plowing!
We weren’t sure of how old it was. I know that the 400 series plows was brought out about the same time as the 70 series. I would like to find a 6 bottom 400 series plow for the 1570.
@@WithamFamilyFarm those 400 series are pretty solid plow, they also made a 500 series plow to, they have 18 inch mold boards.
Nice
Man some serious blow by
Yes it does. It has a bad valve guide in one of the heads. It is also a very tired engine.
Hello..I also have a case 970 and I like it very much, but I have a hard time finding spare parts here
We go through Elmer’s Repair in Centralia, KS. For parts
Maybe the driverneeds to clean the mouldboards theres more fo plowing than just revvinng the motor
Tractor literally doesn’t know that plow is back there.
Nice, was higher gear lower revs not an option with the power of the 1570? Might be a bit more economical.
No bigger than what the garden is, A higher gear and throttle wouldn’t have saved much fuel. But to demonstrate the power of the tractor in a higher gear and half throttle, that we could have done.
What's up with the Case tractors in the back lot? Future fixer uppers?
Yes. The 870 needs an engine overhaul and steering rebuilt. The 2470 needs the front pinion bearing replaced and needs all new cables (shifting, steering, etc)
@@WithamFamilyFarm cool. I'll keep watching
