I think you're so awesome for putting it out there and showing what happens when a product kinda sucks. Thanks for sharing the experience so we don't have to!
I have hair that is down to the middle of my back. It is thick and course. I used slightly damp hair and some wave spray to prep. I slept in them. I used a less expensive brand of these that I got off of eBay.. It worked really well!!
I have owned and used the small spoolies for a few months now and your right, they are not the easiest way to get a curl but for a heatless set I think they do well. I still like and use them now and then for a more vintage style since they are to me easier then old school pinned "pincurls" and I sleep with them dry with a scarf wrap to keep them in. When it comes to styling them after taking them out (like any pin curl set) you need to style and tame it to do what you want them to do by sculpting them. I'm sorry they did work out for you. They're not for everyone and they do take a little practice to use, but they do work good when you get the hang of them and set them dry.
I have the big ones, my hair is longer then yours tho. I use them on dry hair, wrap it up in a scarf and sleep on it. Works pretty good. I think you are super cute and pulled it off. The curls fall throughout the day so there's that too. That was funny.
I tried a knock off brand of the spoolies. They were only 12.00. anyway. I found out that they are a lot easier if you don't try and place the small end on your head. Start in the middle of the strand being used and then roll the hair around the curler and continue to roll them in place. It works a lot better on dry hair or if you just put a little hair product at the end of the hair. Within 45 mins depending on your hard thickness ( I have a lot if hair but it's thin) I got a nice soft beach wave.
I have no clue why I watch you because i have extremely long hair ( almost down to my knees ) but I will continue to watch you bc I think you're very fun to watch and adorable!!
I have longer hair that Miabu does, and these work well for me. My hair is heavy enough to not get that puffy curl, and I was able to sleep in mine without to much discomfort. I got a cheaper off brand from amazon with both size for half the price she paid.
While grease did not come to mind, bad 80's perm did come to mind. Love you for testing out these products so I know what the hell to avoid. You Rock Milabu!
I was not aware that they still made Spoolies. I used them in the 60's. We only used them with dry hair. After taking them out we combed our hair. They mimicked curls made using Bobby pins. I am new to your channel; have you try putting empty juice cans in your hair? Securing with the very large bobby pins? They give a lot of lift to the top hair. I enjoy all your updos and you have a darling personality!
I have both curl formers and spoolies. I make sure my kids hair is dry for the spoolies! works a lot better. For the curl formers their hair is wet/damp for over night. love them both!
omg i love you so much! i got a hair cut and its about your length, and i had no idea what to do with it. ( before i got a haircut i was subscribed to you) and i saw you posted and you saved my life. now i do your hairstyles daily. ❤
I think these are more for vintage styling , because they were origanally used then (these are not a new thing) my grandma had a set snd they kindof replaced the pincurl set used in the 30s @40s@50s ...so the brush out is different to modern styles check out vintage you tube !!!
I quite like the pink as it looks very vintage and different and looks nice with a side parting or maybe a half up do, nothing fancy just a half up pony tail
Even though these were a struggle for you, it turned out fabulous! Ps- your not the only one that struggled applying them alone 😊 and they do work 100x better when your hair is dry, but they make your hair frizzy.
Thank you sooo much my Aunt told me about your videos for hair. I just cut my hair because when my mom tried to bleach it she did it twice so I can't thank you enough for you teaching me to Dutch braid and all of this!! THANK YOU!!
I love curly hair on you! I have wavy/ curly hair and give always hated it but I like when you do waves or culs with tools they are more polished and softer.
My first time seeing your channel; I wanted to find out how well the Spoolies worked. I noticed your accent and wondered where you were from? I am from California. Thank you for the helpful demonstration.
My hair is naturally curly n I try to make my curls look more soft. Also have short hair, like a bob hair cut. I think the blue one would work for me. In my opinion the blue ones, the curls looks very cute on u. Thank u for this video. I love u, have a bless day Milana.
THANK YOU for taking the time to try these so I don’t have to! They looked interesting on the ad for them but you had sooooo much more patience than I would have ! So disappointing to go through all that work and they didn’t work out for you😰. This is my 3rd video I’ve seen of yours and have really appreciated getting all this great information! I liked the orange and pink ones that you pulled thru your hair and may try those thanks to you! And your first video with the different styles was AWESOME! I subscribed and look forward to seeing more!! Two big thumbs up from me👍🏻👍🏻
i am growing out my hair atm and i thought that this is gonna be so hard for me but then i found your channel and boom even with short hair i have different hairstyles everyday!!!! thank you so much❤
Ketchup & Gummy Bears I have really thick, curly and frizzy hair as well, I just started using OGX Coconut Curls shampoo, conditioner and styling milk and it is seriously amazing!! My hair has never been softer and when I wear it curly there's literally no frizz. Highly recommend it! Hope that helps 😊
Love your videos, but what rollers are your favorite ones, I need to buy some and I can't decided... 😒 I almost order these, but it does not looks like is for me.
Lol. U r so cute! The pink side is cuter on you. You are an amazing hair stylist RUclipsr. My hair is longer than yours and I still cant do any of your amazing styles to save my life! But on the flip side, I am so glad I am naturally curly 😜
You inspired me to cut my hair ❤ Mine is shorter than yours though and now its hard to style it like I used to, all thanks to the eternal summer I live in... Still love your videos. Never stop being yourself ❤ Greetings from Puerto Rico. Te mando un abrazo caluroso lleno de amor 😂😁
Thank you so much for testing these spoolies out. I am also on a quest for heatless or low heat curlers . Really hope you will try out a few other kinds. How about the top styler InStyler clams or Secret curl? Would love to see how these work for you! By the way you are my all-time favorite RUclipsr 💄🌸😜
Thanks for being my Girl! :-) I'm glad you said the curlers are silicone - at first glance they appeared to be hard plastic. I think the pink side looked good once you shook it out a little with your fingers!
milabu not a fan of those curlers, but the blue ones gave you a bit of the wave like marilyn monroe , love how you share the products with us whether it works or not love you always great work ❤
I was so disappointed in these. I'm glad you tried them to avoid me from buying them! Lol but I love your attitude..you're real and I love it. Also, I love your hair! So pretty
I saw someone else try these and they had the same results...hard to use ..kept coming loose and not alot of good curls..I think they are a flop but you still rocked it girl..keep the videos coming and have an awesome week...:)
Believe it or not, naturally curly hair does this sometimes so it's not exactly inaccurate 😂😜 also.... don't rake your fingers through curly hair it frizzes it and ruins whatever curly pattern you had😥 Maybe just gently separate them instead. These curlers seem like a good idea in concept but I guess they failed on functionality 😂😂
Try doing the pink and the top and blue and the bottom. I think it only look "bad" because you did two different sizes on each side of your head. I liked both sides
It was your first time using them. The more you use them the faster you'll get and the better your installation technique will get. When you perfect the technique the curls will look better
My vote is the bigger spoolies - the blue ones. I thought it looked pretty cute. I've never sent anything to anyone but I might send it to you. It's a very interesting hair contraption and I'd love to see what you do with it. I'll check below and see if you include your address below. Thanks for this video. Always enjoy watching your expertise with hair. 💜
I too wanted to try these but have very thick hair so all curls fall out of my hair after hours of styling . can u test put the waver tools like mark hill or Lee Stafford or that tyme iron
I'd love to see a test of Jumbo Curlers. They are these fat foam curlers you bend to hold into your hair. I've thought about buying them but would love your opinion on them. Your short hair tutorials have been great!
This is why they instruct you to not dampen hair. The curls will not dry uniformly, if you get a larger portion in one spoolie, it dries more slowly. Adding heat affects the spoolie's hold. FOLLOW DIRECTIONS. Otherwise, this is just user error. I use these all the time. I sleep in a ponytail with the tail in a few spoolies. Wake up to wavy hair with nicely curled ends. My hair is your length.
Oh myyy first of all who would have the time to do this on a regular basis?! Idk who makes these products lol But you're so awesome for trying these things out!!
Wonder if hair type had something to do with this. I've seen others try it and it turn out nice and others ( like yours) not turn out so well.... I personally think I'll be sticking with my curl formers and curling with my hair straightener.
I think you're so awesome for putting it out there and showing what happens when a product kinda sucks. Thanks for sharing the experience so we don't have to!
If you have thick hair like me.... this will not work and you need like 200 spoolies to have like half of the hair done.
I have hair that is down to the middle of my back. It is thick and course. I used slightly damp hair and some wave spray to prep. I slept in them. I used a less expensive brand of these that I got off of eBay.. It worked really well!!
I've literally just found you and YOUVE GOT SHORTER HAIR THAN MEEEEEEE!!!! And I swear you are the best hairstylist youtuber everrrrrrrr xxxxx 💗💗
+Lucy-Louise-May Gregson hahaha thank you! That means so much to me
Lucy-Louise-May Gregson what does you having longer hair than her have to do with anything lol...?
Lucy-Louise-May Gregson same
because I have short hair and I can't do anything with it because all the tutorials are for long hair
I have owned and used the small spoolies for a few months now and your right, they are not the easiest way to get a curl but for a heatless set I think they do well. honestly I think the blue looks a lot less Shirley temple
haha getting those vibes lol

Yeah, need "convection" (moving air through the hair) to dry the hair. A bit of thermodynamics from my previous life :)
+Andrey Burykin hahahahahha
You remind me of Baby in Dirty Dancing with that hairstyle !!! 🤣
+Carol-Ann Lavoie haha yes 🙌🏻
+Carol-Ann Lavoie just not as cute 😅😂
Carol-Ann Lavoie I thought the same thing!
OMG me too!
Yes!
The pink looked better at the end, but they look like a pain in the ass to put in and keep in.
I got a cheaper off brand from amazon with both size for half the price she paid.
you got super honest and likable charisma 😄 i'm subscribing

raven allmond same here!
Also didn't look that bad to me! The blue for looser curls and the pink for tighter curls! I like both!
I think these are more for vintage styling , because they were origanally used then (these are not a new thing) my grandma had a set snd they kindof replaced the pincurl set used in the 30s @40s@50s ...so the brush out is different to modern styles check out vintage you tube !!!
that top is super cute!
Thank you!
I love you and your channel! I just found you and you’re so sincere, genuine and funny! Love you 😘
I quite like the pink as it looks very vintage and different and looks nice with a side parting or maybe a half up do, nothing fancy just a half up pony tail
Even though these were a struggle for you, it turned out fabulous!
Ps- your not the only one that struggled applying them alone 😊 and they do work 100x better when your hair is dry, but they make your hair frizzy.
Thanks for all your time and money trying these curlers for us. Blue looks pretty good. You are the sweetest girl on youtube💖✨😁
I thought these were going to work way better than they did 😂
Same here!
Thank you sooo much my Aunt told me about your videos for hair. I just cut my hair because when my mom tried to bleach it she did it twice so I can't thank you enough for you teaching me to Dutch braid and all of this!! THANK YOU!!
Think if I had to pick I'd prefer the pink but I don't really like them at all. Maybe try it without damp hair?
Nobody puts baby in the corner
You are absolutely adorable! Your videos are so so helpful!
PS, I won't be trying these. 😉
I had seen these and was wondering how good they we're. Thanks for sharing!
You are the best hairstylist I've ever seen x
I love curly hair on you! I have wavy/ curly hair and give always hated it but I like when you do waves or culs with tools they are more polished and softer.
Your husband is such a trooper, haha mine would never have the patience to deal with spoolies. Send those things back to Amazon ASAP!! 😘💕
This is the person who finally taught me to Dutch braid my hair!! I'm only 44 too 🙈🙈😂
My first time seeing your channel; I wanted to find out how well the Spoolies worked.
I noticed your accent and wondered where you were from?
I am from California.
Thank you for the helpful demonstration.
I like the pink better and this type of wavy curls look very nice despite all the trouble it gave ur hair beautiful volume
My hair is naturally curly n I try to make my curls look more soft. Also have short hair, like a bob hair cut. I think the blue one would work for me. In my opinion the blue ones, the curls looks very cute on u. Thank u for this video. I love u, have a bless day Milana.

Love your blouse ❤️
And yes you do look "awesome" with those curls😁😁
Thank you!
haha 🤣
Ive had short hair for years and I found your channel and your hairstyles has helped me so much!! Love ya xoxo
I used to have some spoolie rollers like that, but they were on a heated base. They worked quite well.
i am growing out my hair atm and i thought that this is gonna be so hard for me but then i found your channel and boom even with short hair i have different hairstyles everyday!!!! thank you so much❤
Any tips for thick or frizzy hair? Also what shampoo and conditioner do you use?
Ketchup & Gummy Bears I have really thick, curly and frizzy hair as well, I just started using OGX Coconut Curls shampoo, conditioner and styling milk and it is seriously amazing!! My hair has never been softer and when I wear it curly there's literally no frizz. Highly recommend it! Hope that helps 😊
ChiTownGal thanks! I'll look into those products.
ChiTownGal where did you purchase your hair products? bc I too suffer from the frizz ugh!
Try it on dry hair.
Why do you look so Frickin adorable with those things in your hair. Btw you looked beautiful at the end!!!😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Love your videos, but what rollers are your favorite ones, I need to buy some and I can't decided... 😒 I almost order these, but it does not looks like is for me.
How to do braids, if you have thin hair. and your favorite hair products would be awesome!!
She did the braids one.It was really good!
Lol. U r so cute! The pink side is cuter on you. You are an amazing hair stylist RUclipsr. My hair is longer than yours and I still cant do any of your amazing styles to save my life! But on the flip side, I am so glad I am naturally curly 😜
You inspired me to cut my hair ❤
Mine is shorter than yours though and now its hard to style it like I used to, all thanks to the eternal summer I live in... Still love your videos. Never stop being yourself ❤
Greetings from Puerto Rico. Te mando un abrazo caluroso lleno de amor 😂😁
this looks way to complicated for me to do 😂 but as always you manage to look on fleek at the end. ♡
+Krümel Krams hahhaa i was having trouble with them haha you're so sweet! Thank you!
I'm 63 years old and my mom used these exact same Spoolies on me when I was about 5 yo.
We need to see your top choices on Hot Rollers too - for fine, thin, short hair!
I just created my first Dutch braid after so many tries. 😥 thanks to you ! You have been such an inspiration to my hair ❤
Now that's exciting!!!!!!!!
Your hair is goals!!!! 😍
Pink side actually looks so cute
Thank you so much for testing these spoolies out. I am also on a quest for heatless or low heat curlers . Really hope you will try out a few other kinds.
How about the top styler InStyler clams or Secret curl? Would love to see how these work for you! By the way you are my all-time favorite RUclipsr 💄🌸😜
Thanks for being my Girl! :-) I'm glad you said the curlers are silicone - at first glance they appeared to be hard plastic. I think the pink side looked good once you shook it out a little with your fingers!
milabu not a fan of those curlers, but the blue ones gave you a bit of the wave like marilyn monroe , love how you share the products with us whether it works or not love you always great work ❤
+marie paradiso agreed! They might work for someone else 😊
I was so disappointed in these. I'm glad you tried them to avoid me from buying them! Lol but I love your attitude..you're real and I love it. Also, I love your hair! So pretty
Love your channel! Constantly trying to recreate the hairstyle you do because they're so pretty, but somehow fail every time 😂!
Milabu you are so pretty and I absolutely love your channel because I have short hair and you have helped me so much!!!😄
Thank you for trying these out so we don't have to. Such a shame the results weren't better. Love your top, so pretty 😍😘
can you let us know how it worked out on dry hair ?
I would do pin curls before that! Thanks for reviewing!
Milabu is amazing I love her!!!!!😍😍😍😍😍
I saw someone else try these and they had the same results...hard to use ..kept coming loose and not alot of good curls..I think they are a flop but you still rocked it girl..keep the videos coming and have an awesome week...:)
they're definitely not worth it, in my opinion.
Can you do a video that rates all or most heatless curl methods?
Believe it or not, naturally curly hair does this sometimes so it's not exactly inaccurate 😂😜 also.... don't rake your fingers through curly hair it frizzes it and ruins whatever curly pattern you had😥 Maybe just gently separate them instead. These curlers seem like a good idea in concept but I guess they failed on functionality 😂😂
Try doing the pink and the top and blue and the bottom. I think it only look "bad" because you did two different sizes on each side of your head. I liked both sides
Cool video! 👍 i like the result of the pink one! 🤗
could you try it again with dry hair? maybe that would make a difference?
will ypu try this again on dry hair?
What leave in conditioner do you recommend? As well as texturizing spray?
you look like a doll
+Manas Goel you're too sweet! Thank you!
I love you so much milabu 😍😍 you're amazing 😍😍
It was your first time using them. The more you use them the faster you'll get and the better your installation technique will get. When you perfect the technique the curls will look better
Have you tried the sponge rod curlers? I have medium length hair and was wondering if they are actually good. Thank you:)
Hi Milana Love your videos!!! Your awesome!!! I comment almost everytime you post!!!
+Chadzzy J thank you so much!!! You're so sweet! Love you
Milabu thanx
You have so much patience ! I would've given up after the 2nd curl 😂
+Cassie Ivette I was determined to see the end result 😳
thank you so much for reviewing this product.. I am looking for an answer to heatless curls that look good and LAST...
+Sunshine Dayz you're welcome! I'm still looking for the best heatless curlers 🙌🏻
I watch ur stuff all the time thanks🦄 Hi from South Africa.
Thanks for the video! I like the music u pick for your videos!
My vote is the bigger spoolies - the blue ones. I thought it looked pretty cute. I've never sent anything to anyone but I might send it to you. Love your videos and your great sense of humor:) best wishes from Hungary
+BarDorThea thank you doll!
i liked the result of the pink one the best after you shook them out!
I too wanted to try these but have very thick hair so all curls fall out of my hair after hours of styling . can u test put the waver tools like mark hill or Lee Stafford or that tyme iron
+Tanya Hull yeah, I don't think these would be great for thick hair. They were falling off my thin hair lol
think you might be right. thank you for testing these out. it always looks so easy in other videos nice to see a true result
Heatless curls are something I only dream of, since my hair is ultra thin. I have a lot of it, but it is pathetic at creating volume.
I'd love to see a test of Jumbo Curlers. They are these fat foam curlers you bend to hold into your hair. I've thought about buying them but would love your opinion on them. Your short hair tutorials have been great!
The end result is actually cute xP
MORE BRAIDS PLEASE
I LITERALLY JUST WATCH ALL YOUR HAIR VIDEOS
BEST RUclipsR
Will you test rotating curling irons like the InStyler or similar? (:
This is why they instruct you to not dampen hair. The curls will not dry uniformly, if you get a larger portion in one spoolie, it dries more slowly. Adding heat affects the spoolie's hold. FOLLOW DIRECTIONS. Otherwise, this is just user error. I use these all the time. I sleep in a ponytail with the tail in a few spoolies. Wake up to wavy hair with nicely curled ends. I think you do great things with hair. I loved your braid video. Love to see your videos.
Oh myyy first of all who would have the time to do this on a regular basis?! Idk who makes these products lol
But you're so awesome for trying these things out!!
Wonder if hair type had something to do with this. I've seen others try it and it turn out nice and others ( like yours) not turn out so well.... I personally think I'll be sticking with my curl formers and curling with my hair straightener.
Idk, maybe!
Thank you so much for doing this review!!!! So helpful,
Please try the Beachwaver!!
Wow Girl! Only you can try weird product and look like a doll!!! Thank you for all your biceps 💪🏼 work for us. Amazing:)
I just had a very good laugh! I love your videos!
