I love watching this and Rico Hines runs for hours, just to study how higher level pros and basketball players move. Just by watching you can add little things that take your game to another level!

Just goes to show the measure of a good basketball player is not 1 v 1, because Judging from these 1s Giddey does not look like an NBA level player , don’t get me wrong he looks like a good player but just not Elite level in these exchanges.
Because Giddeys strength is his vision and passing ability.. he needs more people on a team to actually show you why hes elite. Apart from that chet got injured so im 100% sure everyone got a little warning on how hard they can push themselves in practices

Man XRM is nice! But isn’t that “step through” a travel? Dude stops, his lead foot becomes his pivot foot, then he steps through with his back foot and before he jumps he lifts his pivot foot off the ground. Seems like a little cheeky travel. Dude can hoop like crazy though, not taking anything away from him there. Just curious what y’all think.
You can lift your pivot foot off the ground as long as ball is released before it goes down. Luka does it often

Lmao no he wont. Dude's got happy feet, the same terrible footwork on defense from his rookie year. I do expect him to step it uo on offense especially since they won't have Chet, but defense? Nah.
@@ballinboxer3676 I think he will be more comparable to D-Lo on defense with more length, height, and athleticism. High IQ player who can call defensive sets and read plays, letting him be able to make the right adjustments, but also because he is so tall for a guard he can switch mostly from pg-to-pf (on most teams). Also great rebounder for a guard.

I might be tripping but how good is josh really?? Like he seems to be hella average to me compared to his peers. I’m open to being wrong tho let me know
He’s decent at using his size and weight to attack the basket and his major strength is his passing ability and court vision. This isn’t an accurate representation of his skill set. He’s a triple double monster tho for sure can average at least 16 ppg this upcoming season hopefully. He was tearing it up in the summer league.
He’s not really a 1 on 1 / iso player.
what vinsanity said, XRM's whole game is getting a bucket. XRM is a better 1v1 player than he is 5v5. Giddey is the opposite way around. Giddey makes everyone else on his team better when he can facilitate and play make. so Giddey is essentially a fish out of water during these drills and videos but that is what he is going to need to work on. He can become a better scorer and create more shots for himself then he will be an all star and be virtually unguardable when you pair that with his playmaking.
He's definitely not going to be an all defensive player but he'll work alright in a switching defense unless against a quicker guard AKA Curry/Morant etc. He'll improve offensively and will continue towards his potential all-star level playmaking/passing ceiling.

Dudes awesome in these 1 on 1 settings but in an organised game with help and actual defensive sets targeted towards him he flops majorly, was super disappointed in him last year in his szn in Australia
He averaged 10 points at 44/22/64 in the NBL, imagine what would happen in the NBA

XRM is 28. Giddey is 19 and is already a top 10 passer in the NBA. He needs to improve his defense and shooting though.

Ummm X played in the league had a 29% fg and 0.71% 3pt and pretty much every single one of his stats were worse than giddeys rookie year… thats what’s good
