I was thinking of getting these gauges for my STI and this video sold me on them. Thank you Dan for the video.
Brown is 5 volt output for datalogging, if you want to do that. Black is ground. Green is 1-volt output. You can use that to simulate a rear O2 sensor signal for the ECU if you want.
thanks I just ordered 2 I'll post mine when installed
We haven't tried, but they are a standard 52mm size, so they should fit in any 52mm pod. Just make sure there's some space between each gauge hole -- the bezel takes up a little room.
It's illuminated. At some point it goes over to the 20.0:1 point, so you may be seeing that. Also, the needle blinks during the startup ceremony.
The touch pad is on a short wire -- around 6" long. So you can position it anywhere on or near the gauge face.
Nice gauges. I read your blog on the 08 STi, really nice clean looking car. What kind of gas mileage are you getting now with all those power upgrades?
@tazdevilxxi The wire that connects it is fairly short. I suppose you could cut and splice it to lengthen the harness...
Hi. Sorry, I'm not familiar with that pod, but they should fit most any standard 52mm gauge pod. We don't have any installation videos of these.
Sweet! I ordered the set up and hopefully it works!
@MachVDan That's not bad at all considering you're putting down 350 to the wheels.
Yes, we use and sell the JDM (Japanese Dual Movement) series. Those are nice, too. It's just a different style.
doesn't the wires from the touchpad get pinched by the pod when you put the touchpad to the side like that?
I'm not exactly sure how to answer that question. You run the wires, mount the sender, mount the gauges...or do you mean what pod they are in? It's one you can find at FastWRX.com.
i have a quick question about the gauges does the touch buttons have to stay connected to the gauge or can the buttons be remotly placed
Great video. Do you know if these will fit the excelerate dual gauge pod? Also any installation videos available? Thanks
Yes, but a warning on a wideband gauge is not so useful, since in normal operation the gauge is going to swing from completely lean (when you get off the throttle) to quite rich (on throttle). Proper air/fuel mixture depends on when you measure it.
Thanks for your help. Do you happen to remember which gauge of wire you used to extend the boost gauge, and which gauge you used for the AFR? I heard that each one is different.
how delicate is touch pad? i know you barely have to touch it but is it something you could see getting broken easily?
I purchased these two gauges, but they do not seem to respond to my touch, I followed the video 100 times, tried reconnecting the touch pads, etc. Any advice?!
Yea I'm worried about the touch pad taking up some room, are they adjustable, can the touch pad move up or down? I've seen them moved to the other side too..
@gary2kr1 It has no moving parts, so it's fairly resistant to getting broken.
Hey thanks a lot! Also I been wondering if my gauge is out of calibration, when the car is off, it marks -1psi instead of being on the 0. Is there any way to calibrate that, or do I have a faulty gauge and need it to be replaced?
@andymcdo I have a mixed commute (some freeway, some stop-and-go) and get around 20mpg.
Great video. Did you have to extend the power line? If so, what gauge of wire did you use? And can you explain where you connected the red, white, and orange lines to please? I want to be able to change colors on the fly. Thanks
Yes, we extended the wiring to the gauge. We use 20-gauge automotive wire. It's not practical to give you exact wiring instructions on this forum, but you can call us for some more specifics.
where do you get those pods from, are there ones for RHD cars (ie: in the UK)?
Is it possible to set different illumination colors for day- and nightmode?
Great instructional video.
Hey, Have you tried the JDM series? if so which do you prefer?
Will these gauges fit on the 42draft design evo triple gauge panel?
Great review. Thanks!
Is that gauge pod avalible for 2012 wrx sedan ?
Isn't the afr needle not illuminated at the start of the video
Where did you get that gauge pod from?
Sorry, we don't have a specific write-up for that car. We do sell gauge pods for it, though.
where can i get that windshield gauge pod?
how was this installed?
@mkillian492 It would be best to give us (or the company you bought them from, if it wasn't us) a call for troubleshooting.
I wondering how does the little controller mount on the gauge my gauge sit in my air vents how can I mount these controller planning on buying some
+120506torque It has a short wiring harness. It's attached with a little 3M adhesive.
Mach V Motorsports I have a 93Oct and E85 setting, is it possible to have two different peak settings with these? one for petrol and one for corn?
There's only one peak memory.
How do you reset the peak boost so you can check your peak on different boost levels?
When the peak value is displayed, press to clear the previous peak value.
Hmm. Not sure. I'd say the touchpad would be difficult for use with gloves.
hey there, am looking to install these gauges in my mazda 6 potentially with this gauge pod
www.ebay.com/itm/02-08-Mazda6-Face-Center-TRIPLE-GAUGE-POD-Mazda-6-Dash-/150451294538
would that touch pad thing get in the way? and is there a way to possibly set your desired settings, then remove the pad and then hide them behind a mount? or are the wires directly linked into the side of the gauge itself?
cheers!
You could drill a little hole in the top and run the control unit wire through there, then mount the control unit on top. You cannot run the gauge without the control unit attached.
cheers thanks for that
We sell them (Google search FastWRX.com and windshield pod). But sorry, they do not come in RHD.
@slyboots2345: Same gauge wire.
Not automatically, but it's easy enough to just change the color using the touchpad.
We just make room for the wires. It's pretty simple. They are small.
It's unfortuante that the amber that shows up the comes across as red, when in fact it's really Amber
What Prosport calls "amber" is a fairly red orange color.
You should ground the black wire.
Is it possible to turn the halo ring off?
No. The halo ring is not independently switchable.
We sell it. See video description.
Yes, although it works best on non-sunroof cars.
is this for any car with a turbo
Yes.
What one would u suggest for a 99 9-3 saab
justin Campbell What gauge? Any of the ones we sell would do fine. Just choose one that has the look you want.
Mach V Motorsports ARE THEY MECHANICAL OR ELECTRICAL
justin Campbell The gauges are electrical. There's a boost (or temp or fluid pressure) sensor that is connected by a wire to the gauge.
@canudropit2 Our Subaru web site, FastWRX (dot com).
All electrical.
