  • This video is long so I dropped in some time stamps to help guide you a bit. Overall, this is just my approach on how I get to know my modules better. I usually do this exploration in a small case like a 104hp or 62hp palette case, so I can focus on specific modules.
    The Poly Cinematic by Knobula is basically a compact synthesizer! It’s an 8 voice polyphonic synth that's super diverse! It's loaded with super saws per voice, detuning options and 3 different wave shapes and modes. As you'll see in the video all the controls are easily accessible and quick to dial in. I am using the Cosmix as my mixer. This mixer is pretty easy to use because of the faders and mute capabilities. Next, I have the Disting EX. I am using a percussion folder of samples that I loaded on it mainly for hats and claps sounds. One output channel on the Disting EX is patched through the MMF filter by WMD to add a performative way to bring the percussion in and out during the jams. For the kick I have the Bass Drum by Mosaic 1u, which is a super punchy 1u module! I also am using their Variable Delay as well just to add a fun effect on the clap/snare like sound in various parts of the jam session. For sequencing I am using one of my favorite sequencers, the Vector by Five12. This sequencer is very quick to get into and with its chord sequencing options I can really take advantage of all the voices on the Poly Cinematic!

    Mind blown! Have had this module for a while but couldn't get sounds like this out of it and now I see why. Wasn't running multiple sequences to it! Do you use one chord and several mono sequences or mix it up with several chord sequences? Thanks for sharing!

    • @Trovarsi
      @Trovarsi  7 месяцев назад

      Glad I could help! So I mix it up. Sometimes chord sequences with mono sequences, or all mono. It just depends what I am trying to do. The most common is chord and a few mono, but I just have fun with it! :)

    Hi, do you think you can do a video on how to set up the vector midi din sync to the knobula? Or maybe add some clarififcation on the manual on pages 8, 14, and 18? i've been looking through the vector manual and been struggling.

    Sounds great! Nice groove ya got going there. I noticed that on your version the trigger button lights up. I’ve noticed other versions don’t light up the trigger is just blue. Do you know anything about that? Just curious. Thanks!

      hmm that's odd. I believe it should light up when triggered. It always does for me.

    Fun jam! I’m considering the Vector (and poly cinematic) curious about the two 3.5mm trs midi jacks on the main unit. Is the vector able to send a chord sequence on one of those channels while at the same time being able to use the two gate/cv/vel for other sequenced lines ? Can you then also use the second trs midi Jack as a polyphonic drum channel - all without the expander?

    • @Trovarsi
      @Trovarsi  Год назад +1

      Hi! Yes the Vector can do all that without the expander over 3.5mm trs connection. The only thing the 3.5mm connection can't do is receive midi. They can only send midi. Also don't forget that the Vector sequencer has USB A and B connectivity and can host. It's a very powerful sequencer. :)

    Thank you for putting out this information. I have a similar setup with the Five12 and Poly Cine. My question is to get the 8 voices are you using Part 5 and 6 on the Five12 ? or just one Part ? I have it hooked in midi . Not sure if the Five12 needs certain settings out side of turning a Part into a chord and assigning the correct midi.

    • @Trovarsi
      @Trovarsi  Год назад +1

      It's been a min. since I created this video but I believe it's both parts. I usually set it up to use at least two parts just so I can keep track of what I am doing and so I can create call and responses as well. It's just a matter of assigning the chord option on the vector part and then assigning the midi channel to the part. You could you all the parts if you wanted to.
      Additionally, there is also a few button combos on the vector that you can push to turn the chord into a more complex chord giving you a 4 note chord instead of two notes.
      Hold the EDIT button (E-flat on the mini keyboard) and press Encoder 9 to flip the whole sequence to custom chord.
      Hold EDIT and press any other Encoder to just flip that step to custom chord.

    How do you split the module into multiple parts to create the various sequences for each part?

    • @Trovarsi
      @Trovarsi  Год назад +1

      I'm not a 100% sure if I understand the question. Are you asking how do I make various songs with the one case setup/patch? If that's what you are asking. I use the sequencer and a lot of modulation on the voices.
      Let me know if I'm on the right track and I can give you more info. :) Also, I do a full breakdown of a case from my REFORM 2021 live performance that I might help give you a little more insight to the way I patch.
      I think I'm going to do a live stream in the next fews day on my new case setup as well.

    • @GuitarsAndSynths

      @@Trovarsi yes how you get multiple melodies from the one module? Does it have more than a single 1v/oct output? I will check out your live performance breakdown. Great stuff!

    • @Trovarsi
      @Trovarsi  Год назад +1

      @@GuitarsAndSynths The Knobula has 8 voices and also has midi, so I found to get the most out of it for me, I use the midi connection. The sequencer I use supports midi and also has chord tracks which makes it super easy to make use of the polyphony. If you send v/oct to it you can use the chords but sending cv to the chord select input, but I think the other way is more flexible.

    Will the poly cinematic accept polyphonic midi on one channel to play a chord?

    • @Trovarsi
      @Trovarsi  2 года назад +1

      Yes. For example I like to use my Vector sequencer (set up 1 chord channel) to play the module. Midi has been the easiest way to take full advantage of it with the least amount of patching.
