Thank you Yolanda... he has made a bit of progress. It has been 5 months since his surgery, but it was a 14 hour surgery, and he lost multiple organs, so recovery is a huge challenge. He is still quite weak, and moves about with a walker, but not much. Still, I am hopeful he will recover completely. He still has an open wound in his chest, and his surgery incision was approx. 200 stitches, from his pelvis bone to his chest.
I'm going to try this. I love it. ❤

Thanks Paula! On Saturday I had to call for an ambulance to take my husband back to hospital.. he had deteriorated so much I feared for the worse... but today they have stabilized him, and although I am not allowed in hospital to visit him because of Covid restrictions, he calls me about 10 times a day with many updates, and he
has regained so much. His voice has returned to his usual and not a muffled difficult to understand speech. He will probably be back home within a week or so. Yay!!

Yes, that Noreaster is coming our way too, but not as bad as Boston and New York, we are only expecting 20 cm... although we usually do get more than they say. Stay safe!!!

Very nice, thank you for sharing this! Would this work on a 4 weight yarn as well?
You could use ww yarn... 2 strands to substitute in this design. If you only use one strand, the poncho will turn out smaller, unless you still use the 9 mm hook, in which case it will turn out lacy.

Good morning, How many skeins of yarn would I need to purchase to make this in a size medium? I always over by yarn and I don’t like to play yarn chicken?

950 yds of chunky yarn, plus an extra 100 yds for the Turtle neck so 1050 total yards of chunky... 2100 yds of ww working with 2 strands.
Hi Emi love your patterns and made several, how many balls of yarn did you use for this poncho?
I made size small, so 2 of the 14 oz. jumbo balls, then I had to use a bit more from another ball for the collar. (Approx. 431 yds per jumbo ball) Medium takes 1050 total, and 5XL takes around 1150 with the collar.
