I’ve been listening to the Beatles since February 1964. I was only 9 years old at that time. All the kids at school from 3rd grade on up had heard the great band on the Ed Sullivan show. Also went to see the movie “It’s a Hard Days Night” and the theater was packed with kids. Screaming and laughing and a few times everyone was quiet on a scene. Fifty- seven years later people are discovering the Beatles and many of us had always knew how great they were then.
I got news for ya' buddy : Not just "3rd grade on up." lol I was 4 and a half in Feb '64 when I saw them on Ed Sullivan -- and I also heard them on one of my cousin's stereo player in their basement in Brooklyn, N.Y. at the time. FANTASTIC SOUND !! Music appreciation can be experienced by even babies in the womb !! 😊 02/19/2024
Heard this on its release in late 64 and when I hear it now I'm transported back to being 5 years old in a draughty old house with no amenities but a great mum, dad and brother. Happiness in poverty 😃
Love the birth of feedback in the the use of a song John's vocals are very cool you could feel his breath's. Nice rhythm guitar technique. John doing the pinky thing :) Ringo's 🥁 's Nice and snappy, spot on spot Like always, love the cuts. Rocklove ! Arty T han ☆♡☆
Another great "John" song. Funky and moves along so well. Fine Beatles harmonies too (in the final cut) , and great riff almost throughout. G major. Note how OPEN and CLEAR these tapes are????? The 'presence'? Not like putting on your vinyl record at home, much better presence and clarity here.
So amazing how they plucked so many fantastic songs out of absolute nothingness and then performed them like it was no big deal. This was fantastic. Thanks for posting!
A little too high for John in take 1, I can totally relate to that haha. Take 2 sounds much better! Regardless, his voice is magic even when he’s straining for those high notes.
Those original YD studio sessions cd's were really tough to get. They were all initially part of very expensive box sets that included a lot of other stuff I wasn't interested in so I never picked them up. The standalone cd's like this came later and were super hard to find but had the best quality. Thanks for posting these
one of the best intros but George Martin should have told John to play it in a different key you can tell the strain on his voice as is also with the others in the band, young musicians tend to have that problem, so did I but a beautiful song altogether, what great songwriting and composing as we all know and love
@@BarBQChips I am not sure, I think John was playing the riff all time, even when George played the solo. This POV seems to be confirmed when you see them playing this song in most movies
@@dolnichek If you aren't a big Beatles fan... then why are you listening to a shit take of I Feel Fine?? We all know it sounds like garbage!! But it's good because we know what it becomes.
The greatest intro riff ever.period...
Except for the four-note intro to 'And I Love Her'
@@lorenzomontoya1260 Yes. And the crazy cord intro to "If I fell". Guess we could go on and on and on.
Stolen from 'Watch Your Step'. As John said: Not so much a rip-off as a love-in.'
One of the few songs John played lead guitar on
@@Bellmore1395George plays the lead guitar solo. John plays the riff.

I love John's voice
I’d love to hear all of the Beatles early albums raw and unmixed like this
Heard this on its release in late 64 and when I hear it now I'm transported back to being 5 years old in a draughty old house with no amenities but a great mum, dad and brother. Happiness in poverty 😃
There are some things money CAN'T buy! :-)
Definitely sounds better in the lower key in take 2. 🙂
So bloody raw it’s fantastic.
That’s what she said
That's My Beatles.
take 5 and 6 are the best

without a doubt best intro in rocknroll

Is there a better opening to a song than that iconic feedback? Nope. Not a chance.
This is one of my favorites.
Perfection

Still gives me chills.
The beauty of the beginning. It's lovely.
that gawdang riff!!! SOLID a/f!!!!
BEATLES RULE!

Not really. He still sounds great with that little rasp. The harmonies would have been a LITTLE too high. I believe that's why they lowered the key.
Great start to the great hit it would become.
Thank you.
Awesome collection! Thanks!

Bringing it down to D from the initial E (while launching off the feedback of the A string) makes a lot more sense musically.
They brought it down from A to G, not D to E
Long Live The Beatles.
Such a good intro to this song. Great takes, too. Thanks.

I’m sure this is where Sir G.M. really contributes in a huge way.
The magic of 5 beatle george martin.
I wonder if bringing it down a tone was George Martin's idea ?
They were the first in many things like this ✌️

Not an easy guitar riff even today. Genius sound at the time
its really not that difficult

I FEEL FINE sounds great with just John singing . I wonder if the guitar is him playing or George .
The main guitar in the background is George.

Version 5 of I Feel Fine has only John's vocals I think and in a lower key.
Is this in the key of A??
It's too high for John.
Beatles ?
Why did you change the key
John was straining to sing it that high.
Sometimes you gotta sing it to see you're in a bad key............
Sounds a semi tone (at least) too high
I feel fine in E major? Strange...
A major
meh
An overrated song. The music is interesting but the lyrics are repetitive and weak.
Don't listen to it then?

No voices at all. How could they be famous? Nice melodies? There are much nicer melodies out there.
"How could they be famous" You're nuts & a stupid troll looking for attention. LOL
It's a take dude, not the released song.
Well, you can listen to those much nicer melodies can't you.
Lennon's voice always sounds shaky in these outakes. Kudos to George Martin for making him always sound great in the finished albums.
