Mum of two Beth McKenna had a shock recently after police turned up at her door concerned for the welfare of her two young children because they had been seen playing naked in a paddling pool in her garden. A furious Beth says her two children, aged two and five, were just enjoying the sunshine and joins us live from her home in Newcastle to tell us her story. But was she wrong for letting her children outside without any clothing? Mother of four Clare Muldoon thinks so and believes any parent who would allow this is failing to protect them, whereas Natalie Brown disagrees and says that children should be allowed to feel safe in their own garden.

As long as absolutely nobody else can see, and that there is privacy, then sure. But if someone can see, no way.

I get it can be uncomfortable as I don’t like seeing this sort of thing happening on the beach or something etc., not even with my own kid, but it’s their private property so they shouldn’t be looking regardless.
I do think privacy is key though. You don’t always know who can see, and I wouldn’t want any potential risks to come of it if the kids are being too comfortable to do that. This is the same if guests are around, age is irrelevant, it can make people uncomfortable.
