    list of tips:
    every line should have at least 1 square, 1 triangle, and 1 circle station
    (removing repeat stations in early game is optional)
    balancing workloads between lines
    as few of the same type of station in a row
    trains can be placed in either direction at any point on the line
    straight lines can be more manageable
    feel free to adjust everything as needed - nothing is set in stone
    concerning unique stations: have them nearer to the central point
    *the curse of a successful line:* when it is so efficient that it can congest other lines (not much of a tip, but i thought that i'd put it here)

      Regarding the curse of a successful line: I think he should have applied the balancing rule: extended the green line to the square, and reduce the red. That way, there's a more equal train density per station.

      I find I actually prefer loops over simple lines. First, You can view a loop as being two parallel simple lines if you make it very elliptical rather than spherical, which saves you a line. (Imagine using one line instead of both dark and light blue on this map @ 6:50, with 3 trains on it). This allows you to buy more carriages, bridges, etc.
      By saving lines like this you can build the most efficient late-game layout, which is a grid. Example: 3 vertical and 3 horizontal elliptical loops, with a total of 4x9 = 36 intersections or stations on 2 lines and 24 stations on one line.
      In addition, more than 1 train on a simple line is inefficient due to a 'bus (train) bunching' effect. If say there are two trains, 5 and 10 seconds apart, the 10 second gap will generate more passengers, so that 'front' train spends more time loading and unloading, which means the back train trailing it will eventually 'catch up' with it, wasting time being empty. Trains don't properly auto-space out in this game; there's no 'full load' orders, so you end up with traffic jams of them unless you constantly move them about. It's a lot more stable if you put 2-4 of them going both ways in a loop.

    Why not fixing the path of the blue track? It's wasting miles.

    is it important to have a Hub station?

      Doesn't hurt. Mainly if you have 1 station that seems to be where you are constantly getting overfilled it is some insurance that it wont be your downfall

    1:22 yellow = circle line
    Red= central line
    Blue = Piccadilly line

    I know this video is old but wouldn't it have been easier just to extend the green line the the square? its not much more distance and all the squares would have been taken care of without the red trains having to pick them up

      But he could have still removed the South London part of the red line and connect the green line to the square on the Isle of Dogs so that green has its own square, while red still has the "central station" one

    Why aren’t you making the lines squares? I‘ve been told it would be faster for the trains

      It is faster but I think he said before that he finds them hard to manage.

    I don't know how some of the gameplay mechanics work like for instance getting rid of some track on a line to revise it without wiping out the whole line. This seems very important but there is no real tutorial on this game that I could see.

      Its been a while since i played so its been a while since ive done it but i think you just click on the line then drag it over the station already on the line and that will remove it off the line. Kind of the same action to add a station onto a line, if the station is already on the line it will remove it

      @@S2isDrawingDead Hello thank you for your response it looks like this works which I was trying but it seems you have to do it at either end of a line which I couldn't find on my loops but I realise now there is a T symbol where this is.
      Thanks again

    Anyone who has tips for how to fix when i get like 10 circles in a row. How on earth do i solve that

    • @fuzzyapple
      @fuzzyapple 2 года назад +1

      I found that building a dedicated line that zigzags a bit through the map helps. So instead of connecting all circles in a row, connect 2 circles and then zigzag to the nearest noncircle and back to the next 2 circles. It'll look messy, but has a lower chance of just congesting your line

    Dude. You didn't describe anything. What are the little icons that pop up near the min icons?

    • @fuzzyapple
      @fuzzyapple 2 года назад +6

      This isn't a tutorial on how to play the game, it's a guide to improve your gameplay. It's targeted to people who know how this game works.
      And to answer your question: the small black symbols represent people and their destination. The larger symbols they're right next to are the metro stations. So if you have a circle with a little triangle on the side, it means that a passenger wants to travel from this circle station to any triangle station.
      You then have to connect the metro lines in a way that every passenger can reach their destination in a timely manner. If too many people wait on a station a little timer will popup right next to it. If you don't manage to reduce the number of waiting people on that station before the timer is full, you'll lose the game.
      Hope this helps

      @@fuzzyapple Hey thanks for the good info. I did eventually figure it out from another video. But yeah, my frustration with this video was the assumption that I knew these things already. Which I didn't. Was thrown off by the title of the video saying "Basic Info and tips." Thanks again.
