Many thanks for the video, it's far more than I expected and is done with a comforting amount of respect and discretion . I'm curious about the connection between the historian /author and the place(!?) I must express my gratitude to the filmmaker on behalf of my family and on the memory my dad (ANTHONY FARRIMOND, landlord 1985-89) It was his first and only tenancy though, as memory serves, he loved his role almost as much as the rusty brew itself and although it's sad to know that he passed away from drink induced ill health only years later. I genuinely think and feel that he was happy here- I certainly have some fond memories of him and our time spent in The Victoria.

I've visited the station multiple times myself, but never saw inside the pub! The better railway stuff is down by the Platt Bridge Junction further up, there's still a fail amount of track in situ!
Thanks Clarky for another great vlog, the outer structure looks seriously over built as a lot of hotel/pubs were in that era with Accrington brick and stone but since the weather has got in through the open/smashed windows everything is rotting away inside. It looks like some badly planned upgrading had started for whatever reason then stopped due to lack of cash. These old places need lots of planning and money to keep them going so unfortunately I recon it'll be demolished. Take care and all the best. Stevie
It seems weird that they started plastering and putting in stud walls downstairs before they had fully stripped everything back. Either rushing into it or bad planning or just inexperience, who knows? Maybe it will appear as a failed project on Homes Under The Hammer one day. I was wondering if it would be a candidate for demolition but the house next door appears to be attached to the pub, which is also a bit unusual. I certainly wouldn't want to live next door to a building in that state.
Greetings from Australia, I just wanted to tell you that I personally very much enjoyed the time you took showing us The Victoria Hotel. I really appreciate the buildings from yester year because once they get demolished history will never repeat. As you were walking through I couldnt help think how many men and boys may have been in and out those doors for a drink before the war and the ones that never returned. Well done love your work thanks so much 👍
Thankyou so much I really appreciate you taking the time to leave your thoughts and feeback. If you check the description or pinned comment you'll actually come across a war related Victorua hotel story ;)
