    • @mikevaz9944
      @mikevaz9944  9 лет назад +13

      Zach castonguay I think this whole thing got blown completely out of proportion. It seems like most of the initial reports aren't even true about the number of illegal footballs. And most scientists seem to agree that weather can be a factor. The problem is, we'll never know the truth because the league screwed up by not properly measuring and recording air pressure. Honestly, air pressure shouldn't be a big deal anyway.
      I hate how Goodell handled this whole thing. He seems to be losing control of the entire league and he appears to be afraid of losing his job.
      At first I didn't like how Brady handled the accusations. I figured if he didn't have anything to hide, why not cooperate with the league? But when they leaked his personal emails, i totally understood why he didn't comply. The NFL can't seem to keep things private, so he chose not to give up his phone and even get a new one. I wouldn't want the entire world going through my stuff. Some friends of Brady even confirmed that he regularly destroys his phones (must be a rich person thing...I wouldn't know haha.) Also, the people that bitch about Brady's email about Peyton Manning pretend like they've never talked shit about another human in their entire lives.
      I really don't think this team did anything wrong. They learned their lesson from Spygate. There really isn't any evidence to prove they illegally deflated footballs. Sure the text messages make you think a little and they do seem slightly suspicious, but there is no way its enough to prove they were deflating them to illegal pressures.
      The thing is, people hate winners. And the Patriots win a lot. People are looking for any type of excuse to hate them and bring them down. The other problem is that there are a lot of uneducated idiots that hide behind computer screens and spew nonsense about the team while they follow bias ESPN reports like sheep. A lot of those people lack the ability to think clearly and process information without their hatred getting in the way.
      I really hope Brady and the NFLPA win in court. They've been treated unfairly and its unbelievable that no one is talking about the Falcons piping in fake crowd noise. The bias is overwhelming. I don't know how the court will rule, but what i do know is that this is one pissed off team, and I think they're gonna have a very emotional and successful season.
      Sorry for the long answer, I guess i rambled on a little.

    Anybody else think he's just a little overrated though... 14 year career and he didn't break 90 sacks, never posted more than 11 in a season, never eclipsed 70 tackles, I just don't get it. Good numbers, but nowhere near hall of fame numbers... Sure he has some postseason records but shouldn't he? His team was consistently in the playoffs every year, and especially with Ty Law and some incredible defenders alongside him he's gonna generate some pressure. I just think the pass rusher who retired 48th in sacks doesn't quite deserve a bronze bust personally... Sorry...

      Stats don't tell the whole story.

    • @JoseLopez-kt2ug
      @JoseLopez-kt2ug 8 лет назад +2

      Randy Moss himself once said he doesn't believe in stats making an impact is what mostly gets you noticed

    • @rileymerino6340
      @rileymerino6340 8 лет назад

      I've always been a stats kinda guy myself to be honest. When we start drifting away from that, we start making dumb generalizations. I.e. " Blaine Gabbert may have thrown 45 interceptions to only 3 touchdowns this season, but the 49ers are 15-1, and he's been so clutch."
      I understand what you're saying and it makes sense, but I don't like when people just brush statistics under the rug. If Luke Keuchly has 100 more tackles than Navarro Bowman, it should be clear who had the better year, it shouldn't be left up to people saying, "This guy is faster" or "This guy plays in crunch time." When I look at McGinest, I see a guy whose in the hall of fame who was surrounded by superstars like Ty Law and Rodney Harrison, and he never was a statistical beast.
      We can sit and argue if he made a huge impact or not, but I'm just saying if somebodies analyzing the stat sheet and nothing else to pick the greatest linebackers of all time, Willie doesn't jump off the page. Especially on defense, stats are everything. With a quarterback you can argue about offensive lines and such and receivers and the talent around him. But on defense, a linebacker should be making lots of tackles, a cornerback should be limiting receivers, linemen should be beating their blockers. Very straightforward.
      McGinest didn't really strike fear into the hearts of his opponents, and it is reflected in the fact that he didn't even break 100 sacks in a 14 year career. That honestly just shows he was an average to good pass rushing linebacker, not a hall of fame caliber player. Bruce Smith got 200 sacks. Von Miller got his 67.5th sack tonight. Now Von has been in the league 5 and a quarter seasons now. In well under half the time, Von is now only 22 and a half sacks off Willie's career. Now Von may turn out to be an all time great, but even so, you have to show you belong in the hall of fame. The fact that guys have gotten more than twice as many sacks as McGinest in their career show why he doesn't deserve a bronze bust. Everybody talks about McGinest making the hall, but he just doesn't compare to the other pass rushers already in their like Bruce Smith, Reggie White, Joe Greene, etc.

    • @fernandoencisoestrada1013
      @fernandoencisoestrada1013 7 лет назад +4

      Riley Merino in the words of Bill stats are for losers. That's what makes the Pats great they don't care about that crap, the only stats that counted for those guys was the W and L. That mentality made them a Dynasty.

    • @rileymerino6340
      @rileymerino6340 7 лет назад

      Fernando Estrada thats all well and good but the bottom line is that Ray Lewis won't ever have as many rings as McGinest, yet will always be regarded as a WAY better player, as will many. Youre just denying that he was truly and overrated player whose status was elevated because he was on a historic team. What did he have to do with his team getting wins? As a unit, offensively and defensively, the pats dominated, and they would have with or without McGinest. He elevated them, but he didn't really stand out. Champ Bailey never won a ring, but he stood out as an elite defensive player on an average and often just bad Broncos team. JJ Watt is doing it now on the Texans. Charles Woodson suffered it most of his career. They didn't win, but their efforts shined and all three will all go down as WAY better players than McGinest. The stats do mean something. Do you think Willie was shying away from trying to get to the quarterback? That's the only way you can justify your argument against the stats, and if you do, that would just be plain stupid. If he hasn't already, In a year or two, Von Miller will eclipse McGinest's career sack total in about half the time, and that should tell you something about him and his hall of fame status. A pass rushing specialist should have more impressive stats to show for himself and an extensive highlight reel. I feel McGinest has neither.

    unbelievable awesome player! but i cant say i wouldent have done the same. but this guy signed with another team late in his career just for a pay day! i think the organization and the fans shouldent have to deal with quitters late in their career. in my opinion its no different than hiring a contractor who has an amazing rep. just to find out after all these years he dosent give 2 shits about your house or customer service anymore but you paid top$ for.his expertise. if he couldent perform due to other reasons i get it but no reasons were given. in my opinion he is a selfish person and everone who believed in him and gave money for his performance late in his career got ROBBED! just like the contractor does! i know it seems aggressive but in reality a bad contractor can be held accountable in court. but these thieves in the nfl just take money, screw teammates, organization and the kids who look up to them. the fans. if you dont agree ive got a new construction business if you need a team player on your project. not trying to pick on willie just 1 of those things that shouldent be happening across the league. or in ANY profession just think about giving your $ to someone that............
