I have both the L and the Rally, between my son and I we have about 1,500 miles (70% off road) on each. I bought the bikes knowing that several modifications would be desired and factored into the cost. The bikes are brilliant, the bars need to be replaced and lifted for stand up work, Moto-X exhaust, LI battery and 12oclock labs tail tidy shaved 11 pounds all off the top of the bike. Taking the Rally on a trip tomorrow with friends on a T7 and AT’s. Mostly mountain trail riding and I think the Honda will shine. Considering I’m leaving a 900 Rally Pro at home, you can see how much I like this platform!
Love hearing your reviews. I live in America but had my summers in England and you sound like my cousin. Much love brother, loving the 300L and agree with everything you said about the bike.
Thanks fellas for a very good in depth review. I waited for about 6 months to get one of these bikes. I received my CRF300L Rally in November of 2021. I am looking forward to riding it more in the spring as it is 30% F (-1 c ) and 6" of snow on the ground here in Washington state USA. Some one asked about the Rally in the comments. It is a little heavier than the L. It weighs about 333 pounds or 150 KG it has a has a 3.4 gal gas tank and a lot of plastic to make up the fairing and the wind screen witch works very well at keeping the wind off of you. I have heard from some reports that the Rally suspension is softer than the L put I am not sure about that. I have only been able to put a 100 miles on it so far. I may buy a low concept seat because the bike is a little high for me and I am waiting for crash bars and skid plate to arrive. I plan on using this bike as a adventure bike. At my age of 70 these other adventure bikes are just to heavy for me to be picking them up.
Great video thank you very much I am waiting for my CRF 300 L to come and will be setting it up for off road 90 % off road, putting a bash plate and hand guards, and a rear tack to carry extra gas. For more road I have the KTM 390 Adventure and for rough roads and tractor trails it is more than enough but am running 50/50 tires ( Dunlop TrailMax Mission, ) also have GIVI Trekker 33/46 liter hard bags on it, did up grade the bash plate and hand guards to better KTM ones. Also have a DR 650 with a 20 liter gas tank, great for very gnarly roads and tractor trails but again put 50/50 tires as I do very long runs on it from 200 Km to 400 Km on a after noon or morning ride, the CRF 300 L I will be putting Dunlop D 606 rear tire and Pirelli M.21 front for more off road use the only road it will see is going to and from the trails. Again thanks for the video will be watching it a second time you gave a lot of information. thanks.
Mine was finally delivered the other day and I'm going to pick it up tomorrow. The non ABS model. I looked up the Rally Raid rear rack and they are not taking orders on it anymore due to too many on backorder.
Thanks for the review. It's really helpful. This bike looks great in every perspective. The only thing that I'm concerned is about the subframe. First, it's not removable and second, if it can stand on a load (bend). Thanks for the attention. Good luck!
I’ve got a new one coming hopefully by the end of next month, would you say that it’s worth putting a new rear shock absorber form new and perhaps doing the front later. Thanks Phil
We'd always recommend trying it first before spending out, it may fit your needs as is dependant on what riding you do. We upgraded the shock first and made it better, but would be better still to do the front as well if able. Happy riding.
Great bike!. How did you get Core Grips for the 300l ( they haven't made the yet. Supposed to come out in December) do the ones made for a different Honda model fit?
They did well mentioning those bikes. The reason is to compare them and make a clear picture. I believe they did. They have answered a lot of questions!
No secret there I'm afraid, bike is just new. Sometimes black gear can rub on the sides of it, but we use RhinoGoo to clean which is great, and elbow grease!
Nice summary .. did you swap out the stock tyres? If so what did you go for? I think one of these would suit me if it doesn’t feel too tall for a 5 foot ten inch fatty like me 😉👍
Why does this guy have to smack his lips between words in an his videos. Lip smacking is gross and I can't even listen to him. Edit it out or something

Can the fork be replaced with a competition model ?

What an absolute cracking honest review, you still got the bikes.
Greetings
Fantastic review 🇺🇸🎉🍾🇺🇸
Would you provide me with the link to frame protector?
Thank you for assisting me.
Keep producing more videos
Thankyou for putting out such detailed and useful videos! now if Honda could just deliver some bikes to my local dealership...
been waiting a month for mine, burns me up
Nice to see a no frills review . Got the 250l and it's more than capable for most thing.
Completely different bike

How did Honda sort the rattle? Lots of people have mentioned this.

Curious about your opinions about the 300L vs the 300L Rally and why you chose the 300L. Great review!
You mentioned a rattle between 5-6 rpm and Honda resolved the issue can please advise what was wrong with the cam tensioner?
Cheers
Needed tightening I assume!
Thanks for the best reviews of this bike

This has been a concern for many. What we can say is after 30 years of riding MX we have only ever bent one subframe!

Trying to figure out whether to keep the 300L or 450RL. Trading one for a Husky 300 for the tight technical woods.
Thanks for the video.
Great bike!. How did you get Core Grips for the 300l ( they haven't made the yet. Supposed to come out in December) do the ones made for a different Honda model fit?
Bought sheets and cut to fit. Best to under size than oversize to prevent peeling👍
Tyler did you receive a reply from CoreGrip that they are making a set for the 300L?
@@GTflyer0116 sounds like he cut his own. Coregrip told me they would be available in early December. RallyRaid has "clear" available.
@@DirtnTrail good info. Thanks
Just ordered one should be here by MARCH 🙈🤣👍
Where are you based?
Always welcome to come and try one of ours 😎
Interesting review but can't see why you decided that a 700 tenere should be a an option or the Kawasaki klx 300 that is not sold in this country
They did well mentioning those bikes. The reason is to compare them and make a clear picture. I believe they did. They have answered a lot of questions!
How good are stock tires ?
Please can you advise where you purchased the core grip frame guards from?
Core Grip direct 👍
Stupid question, yr seat is immaculate. How do u clean it?
No secret there I'm afraid, bike is just new. Sometimes black gear can rub on the sides of it, but we use RhinoGoo to clean which is great, and elbow grease!

Not swapped stock tyres yet.
You can now buy lower seats so don't let that stop you buying one! 👍
Good enough to endo if that's what you like lol
Sorry too long, too many words. I'm out.

greetings friend. I have a question, did you ask the crf300l the settlement period?
