Hi, I'm watching your review since I am looking for a good MIAB (definitly the crunch/OD sound I love^^) and your videos seem to be helpful to hear the tone differences.
But I have some questions : what do you prefer between weehbo JCM drive, weehbo plexdrive and wampler plexidrive ?
Too bad you didn't put the jcm drive in JTM mode because if it is good, I definitly want that one ! What do you think of that mode in comparison to a wampler plexidrive?
Thx and keep rocking dude ;)

If for MIAB you mean Marshall In A Box then, it all depends what kind of Marshall tone are you after.
If the early JTM 45 is your target then:
JCM Drive's JTM side is good but, for this kind of sound the Plexdrive has more tweakable and accurate sound.
Wampler's Plexdrive is good but, lacks control over the low end. The Bass switch is to short when off (no basses) or too much when on (excess of low end).
Weehbo's Plexdrive allows you to exactly get the amount of low and high ends with ease.
And, without any doubt, the trick of Weehbo's, that internally doubles the voltage to 18V, gives them an openness, detail and dynamics that you will rarely find in any other line of pedals. Weehbo's Plexdrive is a round product but, just a one trip pony, for THAT sound.
I would suggest you to check the awesome Jetter Gold 45/100 (watchout, not the Gold Standard!), Catalinbread DLS and Xotic SL, also.
If you are not bound to a particular sound, Weehbo's Helldrive is one of the best crunch boxes I've ever tested. Just English crunch but, not particularly targeting an specific maker/model. It has more gain available than in their Amp-In-A-Box pedals and, both channels stacked will give you lots of fun. Highly tweakable, organic, dynamic and very amp-alike sense. It's a monster of tone.

hermeticoguitar Thanks for the reply ! The real difficulty is to try them all side by side. I've heard about catalinbread DLS and xotic SL but I like the tone of the jtm45, 1959, 2203 marshalls with a preference for the last one, that is why I thought the JCM drive was the best compromise but I think I will need both jcm drive and plexdrive eventually, to cover the 3 decades (60's to 80's) of marshall tones ! (unfortunatly the real amps are too loud ^^)
About the helldrive, I'm afraid that will be too much agressive for my use, and reminds me what I don't like in Orange amps tones. For the extra gain, I'll push my amp, I suppose it will be enough overdriven/distorded for me.
Thanks again, let's find a shop in France to try'em now !
