I see it as if she tells him that she knows he is very passionate on the inside but shows everyone only a shell, but she knows theres more to him, spoiler: and when she dies he snaps out of his shell. I think its relatable as the player can be disconnected from the tale like cloud, and its supposed to reel you in, like it did cloud, to make you feel again, and feel like you're really there.
When I was a kid I had so much time on my hands I played the whole game up to this scene calling Cloud "Alfred" so Aeris would say "Alfred, I mean Alfred". What a loser.

the date with aerith is pretty hilarious since you have the option to choose who to kiss (the princess, the dragon or the king) i went back and forth to see the different outcomes and it was worth it!
Aerith is cute and I like her, but she is super annoying and pushy. She would be the type of girlfriend that always wanted to be around you or always want to do something. Like if you wanted to play FF7 Artith would would want to go out.

Just a piece of fact. this date is base on how you treat all of them. The one you are most fond of will likely be your date, but each characters got default pts. Aerith starts out with 50 pts Tifa with 20 pts Yuffie with 10 pts Barret with 0 pts. So all in all, you really have to a real douchbag to Aerith to avoid her date, while you need to be extra fond of Barret to get a date with him, but most likely we all got Aerith on our first playthrough. i can safely say 80% of gamers back thrn got her first. afterall she was the intended canon date.
You don't have to be that mean to her, I am replaying the original game and I was nice to her but I ended up with Tifa cause I gave her the flower, and in Gongaga, I didn't pick the "jealous" option when Aerith talks about Zack. And in terms of "canon dates" I would say Aerith and Tifa are the real dates; Yuffie and Barret are more for humor.
Something tells me that in the remake both Tifa and Aerith dates will be able to be considered canon since they both already have a setup. Aerith promised a date as payment, while Tifa straight up asked Cloud to “dress up and hit the town” with her, to which Cloud agreed to. One is totally forced onto him and the other he willingly agrees to lol

As a child I was so obsessed with Tifa I once got the Aeris date and reset my game from the start rather than continue... And I never knew how you could earn Barret! My best friend and I played together in high school. We tried so hard to impress Barret for Cloud. Ended up going out with Yuffie. 🙄
So if they have this in the next remake I'm thinking each of the characters could have their own dresses for the theatre. Cloud: In all versions dressed in a gaudy prince outfit. Aerith: An elegant white princess dress. Tifa: A raunchy revealing jewelled bikini. Yuffie: A Japanese style princess outfit. Barret: A bright frilly pink princess dress that is several sizes too small.
I kind of hate that you can't see more than one date in a playthrough, this is some vital character development. With Aerith it demonstrates that she's wise and insightful and not just a sunny goofball. With Tifa it shows that she's shy, insecure, and has something important to say to Cloud but is afraid of screwing it up- all of which seems to largely come from nowhere in the second half of the game otherwise. Even with Yuffie, it paints her more as impulsive and precocious rather than just a scheming brat.
They were, and are, strong!!! Rather, they should be more visible to the player. That's more accurate. Because if you take all the compilation materials (magazines, novels, games) Then their relationship is mutual and strong! But it's all smeared in a thin layer all over the place. That within the framework of one game, it is difficult to understand. And the reasons for this are also obvious. It's easier to milk the players this way. Creating the need to purchase additional materials. Now, when we have already visually moved away from text messages, and all the cutscenes show good facial expressions. Little is left to the player's interpretation. And in theory, if SE does not begin to change the essence of the original, we are waiting for a more visible manifestation of their relationship.
I was surprised that Cait Sith escaped unscathed and didn't have chunks taken out of him by Barret after making that threat. "Hi guys, I'm Cait Sith 3.0".
What I did on the Aeris date was talk to the wizard and kiss the dragon. The dragon turned into a lady and everyone twirled away off the stage (Except Aeris). I had a good laugh, especially since her reaction after all of that was "Wait. What?"

it’s because you would have to get Yuffie early on from anywhere in the Mystery Woods, i think there’s a point system involved with certain characters that triggers events like this if they are higher than the others.
It's hard to get Barret it's even a trophy in the ps4. You start with 0 affection points with him, because he doesn't like you, while Aeris and Tifa had plenty of affection points to begin the game. So you must be rude with Tifa and Aeris, nice with Barret. Like giving the flower to Marlene, and always willing to hear about Avalanche.
People say cloud was too edgy after this game. But I think they really fleshed him out and made him have genuine care and connections with his teammates in the remakes.
It’s hard to go back to this when you saw Rebirth, despite the charm of its execution under PS1 technology. That said, the Barret date will always remain a classic, in both versions.

With dialogue options, be mean to Tifa, Aerith, and Barret but be nice to Yuffie. Moments where party members stand around, avoid talking to Tifa, Aerith, and Barret. Talk to Yuffie whenever you can. That’s the simple explanation but you can look up the details online :)
There is a certain system about how you get a date with. And you have a higher probability to get a date with Aeris if you don't treat Yuffie, Tifa or Barrett well.
If the remake is still following this too... I sure hope you can still choose who to bring~ also those choices... Kiss the king ..lol~ But in the remake Zack might make an appearance?~

Just a piece of fact. this date is base on how you treat all of them. The one you are most fond of will likely be your date, but each characters got default pts.
Aerith starts out with 50 pts
Tifa with 20 pts
Yuffie with 10 pts
Barret with 0 pts.
So all in all, you really have to a real douchbag to Aerith to avoid her date, while you need to be extra fond of Barret to get a date with him, but most likely we all got Aerith on our first playthrough. i can safely say 80% of gamers back thrn got her first. afterall she was the intended canon date.
You don't have to be that mean to her, I am replaying the original game and I was nice to her but I ended up with Tifa cause I gave her the flower, and in Gongaga, I didn't pick the "jealous" option when Aerith talks about Zack. And in terms of "canon dates" I would say Aerith and Tifa are the real dates; Yuffie and Barret are more for humor.
Something tells me that in the remake both Tifa and Aerith dates will be able to be considered canon since they both already have a setup. Aerith promised a date as payment, while Tifa straight up asked Cloud to “dress up and hit the town” with her, to which Cloud agreed to. One is totally forced onto him and the other he willingly agrees to lol

As a child I was so obsessed with Tifa I once got the Aeris date and reset my game from the start rather than continue... And I never knew how you could earn Barret! My best friend and I played together in high school. We tried so hard to impress Barret for Cloud. Ended up going out with Yuffie. 🙄

I kind of hate that you can't see more than one date in a playthrough, this is some vital character development.
With Aerith it demonstrates that she's wise and insightful and not just a sunny goofball.
With Tifa it shows that she's shy, insecure, and has something important to say to Cloud but is afraid of screwing it up- all of which seems to largely come from nowhere in the second half of the game otherwise.
Even with Yuffie, it paints her more as impulsive and precocious rather than just a scheming brat.
Cloud wasn't being cold, it was just the spaghetti falling out of his pockets.
One of my favorite scenes in the game. Man I sort of hope the remake makes the relationship between Tifa and Cloud much more stronger.

Because if you take all the compilation materials (magazines, novels, games) Then their relationship is mutual and strong! But it's all smeared in a thin layer all over the place. That within the framework of one game, it is difficult to understand. And the reasons for this are also obvious. It's easier to milk the players this way. Creating the need to purchase additional materials. Now, when we have already visually moved away from text messages, and all the cutscenes show good facial expressions. Little is left to the player's interpretation. And in theory, if SE does not begin to change the essence of the original, we are waiting for a more visible manifestation of their relationship.

what i did is to have a date of aeris and cloud, talk to the knight and kill the king. aeris went mad and talk tough to the dragon..
What I did on the Aeris date was talk to the wizard and kiss the dragon. The dragon turned into a lady and everyone twirled away off the stage (Except Aeris). I had a good laugh, especially since her reaction after all of that was "Wait. What?"

I didn't know you could get Yuffie or Barret. All of my playthroughs have always been Aerith or Tifa.
it’s because you would have to get Yuffie early on from anywhere in the Mystery Woods, i think there’s a point system involved with certain characters that triggers events like this if they are higher than the others.
It's hard to get Barret it's even a trophy in the ps4. You start with 0 affection points with him, because he doesn't like you, while Aeris and Tifa had plenty of affection points to begin the game. So you must be rude with Tifa and Aeris, nice with Barret. Like giving the flower to Marlene, and always willing to hear about Avalanche.
