I might be outnumbered in this opinion, but I think this should have been an original restoration. It pains me to see a 50 year-old-car, especially a Mustang, ripped apart and modified to hell. I like them original whether or not they were ever fast. Plus original cars are usually worth more. At this point it would be a stretch to even call that car a '66 anymore.
IF he did a regular restore, it would be no big deal, lots of folks have done them before, but turning a '66 rust bucket into a cool looking car with all modern conveniences, now that's a cool series. I really hope this blows up Ben's channel
We’ve all heard that old adage, “I ain’t skeared,” well that’s Vtuned’s attitude. He isn’t afraid of anything when it comes to rebuilding a car, and has an amazing talent for such a young guy. I would be glad to have him work for me if I ever needed any collision or restoration work.
I first watch vTuned a year ago and the quality of his videos has gotten much better. Sound is better, ediiting is better. Rebuilds have always been good, but much better to watch now

Replace them with new screws from the dealer .I dont know about him. I use too do this work .this guy is working too hard.the he is going with it. He is not going by the gauges guidance .make sure your unibody frame structural perfectly straight out before you install parts .

How do you consider what Goonzquad does not "real" work? For what they do and the type of cars they repair they have to buy new parts. It's a completely different concept than what he's doing. I'm actually surprised Ben didn't correct you on that one. He's also done the same type of builds they do.
I worked at a tractor trailer company and the mechanic shop had a frame straightener. I've seen a guy cut the cab of his pickup in 4 trying to make a smaller windshield and back window. He never figured it out. And get some curve in that windshield. Rocks bounce off it better. Flat ones always spider. I'm diggin this rebuild. A fastback is my favorite.
Between this channel and Goonzquad... there is randomly an older man involved. Great to see someone teaching the younger gen the “tricks of the trade”.
I worked for Kansas Jack many years ago (Lived in Mcpherson), delivered and set up hundreds of machines all over the country. It's amazing what a skilled tech can do with a totaled vehicle.

Great decision to cut the car in 1/2 to get the donor car sub frame components to fit. This build project is coming along so nicely and quickly too! It's going to look great when it's finished. Lots of metal fabrication work ahead of you. I'd go tubular to save weight, increase strength for the cabin, and simplicity, including a built in roll cage. That's my suggestion. Keep up the great work on this build! I love the way it's coming together so far.

@Pumpkingilmour or not cut the car in half to begin with. There's no reason for all this other than to make life harder. The "big hp" comment in the last video is nonsense. People have been putting 1200 to 1800 hp in mustangs since they were first built. Same as the coyote not fitting. At last count I saw 10 videos where people have dropped 5.0 coyotes in 60's era mustangs. As for the glass: new custom glass, new trim, and every body panel except for the doors and front fenders will have to be modified. It would be easy to narrow the front and rear sub-frames and get custom drive shafts made and keep the correct proportions of the original mustang. I've seen widen mustangs before and they look dumb IMO. I'll reserve my final decision until he's done but I'm calling it now....... @@MessalineApghar actually if you looked at the 66, the frame was in really good shape, if he didn't butcher it up like he did he could have easily sold the complete floor pan for a really good dollar. He is young, all he was thinking about is twin turbos not the value of a 66 mustang
You must have heard me say ...where's the safety blanket! This takes me back to 1972 . We had a brand new LWB XJ6 with very similar damage.( one of the very first LWB) The owner lost control and wrapped the Jaguar around an oak tree . We fitted a new shell ! Great stuff. Incidently the driver was completely uninjured , the foot well was crushed to about 3inches!! The seat was in a similar state. He was thrown into the passengers compartment!

You're doing great. I did about 5 rebuilds in my life and nothing to the extent of this. Most of my rebuilds took about two years each I think this one would take me at least a few years.
This Project reminds me of the old TV car shows like American Hot Rod..so much fabrication work and customization needed. The only things missing are the crazy deadlines, the cardboard with all the tasks/components needed to be done and the shop pranks between mechanics :))
I took my Mondeo to a Main Ford Dealer here in UK to have a new steering rack fitted last summer......they left bolts undone!..it came loose... should have taken it to V tuned garage!

What custom glass? 1965 Ford Mustang window glass still has Ford part numbers.

@@derekrogers3426 both frames are shot. One rusted out and the other pretzeled to hell. New frame either way.
@@MessalineApghar actually if you looked at the 66, the frame was in really good shape, if he didn't butcher it up like he did he could have easily sold the complete floor pan for a really good dollar. He is young, all he was thinking about is twin turbos not the value of a 66 mustang
You must have heard me say ...where's the safety blanket! This takes me back to 1972 . We had a brand new LWB XJ6 with very similar damage.( one of the very first LWB) The owner lost control and wrapped the Jaguar around an oak tree . We fitted a new shell ! Great stuff. Incidently the driver was completely uninjured , the foot well was crushed to about 3inches!! The seat was in a similar state. He was thrown into the passengers compartment!

You're doing great. I did about 5 rebuilds in my life and nothing to the extent of this. Most of my rebuilds took about two years each I think this one would take me at least a few years.

This Project reminds me of the old TV car shows like American Hot Rod..so much fabrication work and customization needed. The only things missing are the crazy deadlines, the cardboard with all the tasks/components needed to be done and the shop pranks between mechanics :))

I took my Mondeo to a Main Ford Dealer here in UK to have a new steering rack fitted last summer......they left bolts undone!..it came loose... should have taken it to V tuned garage!
