Many us banks have coin counting machines that do not take out a percentage fee if you have a bank account with them or roll them yourself and take them to your bank. Again, they do not take out a percentage fee. Why the hell would you want a $1k gift card? I would rather have the cash!!!
Don't assume the coin sorters in banks are automatically free, even if you have an account. I took coins into a credit union -- which I had been using to sort coins for several years -- and as I'm about halfway through my (actually modest) coin dump, a teller strolled over to inform they were no longer offering the coin sorter as a service...even for account holders. Mind you, the sorter was still sitting there in the lobby, with signs advertising "Free for Account Holders," so I took pix to prove the policy and threatened to out them on RUclips for singling me out. So, they allowed me to finish my dump -- but did change the signs literally while I was still sorting. The point is -- save some hassle, ask about their policy first. Some over-enthusiastic may claim the service doesn't apply to coin collectors or sorters...but if they can't show that policy in writing they're just gaslighting you. BTW, I immediately closed my substantial deposit accounts with that CU. They lost a lot more money refusing the service than it ever cost them for electricity, maintenance or teller time. (The machine could self-roll and wrap the coins, too!) As far as I know, that machine still sits in that lobby, unused except by tellers to count their change drawers each day. LOT of money invested in an expensive machine to do very little.
Shame that half dollars aren't given as change in this country like how 50p coins are given as change in the UK. Instead of being picked through for any silver then given back to the bank.
Seeing your comment here three years later. Wondering how the two halves cost you ten dollars. Most banks have halves in rolls and sometimes loose in the counter money drawers.
I wish UK Coinstars offered gift cards. I’ve got like £50 in loose change that I can’t spend unless I go do a big shop and use it all in 1 self service till or use it all in the coinstar and pay 12% processing fee and I don’t want to lose like £8 for the sake of being lazy and not wanting to bag up my change lol
Another way to avoid the fees is find a bank or credit union that doesn't charge fees to their customers for using their coin machine. Be smart! Get all of your money back...who needs an Amazon card... I'll take the CA$H!
we have possible move happening in a bit, so we will for sure need some amazon credit for when we get there and need a bunch of stuff.....plus we use amazon for everything including groceries sometimes!
I hope you check your Coins before you go Turning them in for chump change you could have a Million dollar coin and you are changing it for face value please comment back thank you
I wish there was one of those near me, it looks cool. thanks for sharing.
I've been doing coinstar for about 4 years now never knew this!!!
You didn't know they charged a fee for Cashback?
@@spook-ay7562 when did I say that??

A lot of banks don't do coin counting anymore.
Luckily my credit union has a new coin machine. Most banks today have gotten rid of them. I must be one of the few people who actually use it-lol.
Exactly cash is king
Can you use the printed slip as cash equivalent for instant deposit into a credit union bank account?
I heard my name so I had to come watch Paul
All those Kennedy half dollars..... smfh hope you checked those first, some are worth $$$$$$
Nice!! Way to save money.
AWESOME lots of coins nice 👍
If you have a bank account in Australia, depositing coins is fee free in a machine.
Perhaps credit for buying from the store or gift cards for othervendors

But if you get $5000+ of coins every week like you guys do, how can you possibly use that much on Amazon, or anywhere else?

@@HalfDollaMakeYouHolla where do you usually dump them?
Hello, is this one of the metallic bitcoins?
If you would have rolled up those 2,000 half-dollar coins you could have had 50 of 20 $ rolls. Why not use the coins instead?
You STILL would’ve gotten over $1,000 if you’d taken the cash
Paul at 3:11 coins fell into the reject tray
No

Mama mia that's a lot of money!
