Remember any quarters and dimes issued on or before 1964 are solid silver and will be worth a lot more now as silver than currency as the price of silver has rocketed. One pound in weight is about 80 silver quarters which is 20 dollars in currency value, but currently Silver is 29 dollars an ounce. 16 ounces in a pound which means that for the silver value 1 pound in weight of old 1964 quarters is worth 464 dollars. A local pawn broker will give you about 250 to 300 dollars, but shop around. But it’s worth checking the year of these quarters and dimes.
Congratulations on setting a new cashing in record. 💰💰💰🤑🤑 I hope this gives you motivation to expand and to set new cash in records for yourself. I hope that you find some really excellent spots. 🤑🤑🤑
I try my best to go through them as I receive them, but at the same time I’m not very knowledgeable other than silver quarters.. so I’m sure I’ve missed some good ones 😬
I once went to staples with a bag worth over £70 of 1p, 2p and 5p coins with some 10p and 20p coins. I save all my spare change and I pick up every coin I find.
@toplinethriftfind Yes, it's all legal tender and I paid fair and square. People these day chuck away their coppers on purpose, even throwing them in the bin. You wouldn't burn a £10 note, but over the years I wonder how much money is wasted nation wide with people throwing their pennies away.
@toplinethriftfind No, definitely not. Imagine if everyone threw away all their pennies! It would all add up. They could just put it in the charity box if they don't want it. There's no need to waste money.
When I go to the coin machine I always go slow I think sometimes people always wanna go to fast. I was always told by the bank to go slow because I can break the machine I never new that I always go slow now
I've used two coin counters in my life, both times I counted the money myself and both coin counters jipped me. One got me for $6 and the other got me for $9. I got my own small coin machine and roll it myself.
Those are commercial machines, and they want to make a profit=they cheat. I have a set of funnels for each denomination, and roll up my coins in paper rollers. But I don't have as many as the guy in the video.
Just once I would try counting all your coins before bringing them in so you know what to expect. If they're all quarter you could weight them. We had these machines at TD for about 3 years but they were all removed for being inaccurate. In some cases they were up to 20% lower than the real figure. Coinstar has a good track record but not other manufacturers.
I appreciate the insight! I didn’t realize it was so common for them to be off. That’s pretty scary. I do plan to get my own coin counter one of these days off of Amazon. 👍

I used to work for a store that had one and your right I consistently had to open it up and un jam it sometimes I would just give them whatever money they had compiled then shut the machine down till the end of my shift where I could focus more to the task, those sacagawea coins and the giant Eisenhower coins would stop this wheel that would spin and separate the various coins, also foreign coins would get spit back out to the customer where 50% of the time they would leave, it wouldn't be able to spit the Eisenhowers back tho these machines were from the late 90s I think they've been updated since then, when the store went belly up the manager said I could have all the foreign coins, almost half a pillowcase full, lastly I would do my laundry at this coin operated place the owner was a jerk and often wouldn't open the machines up when something went wrong so one day I did all my laundry with Canadian quarters and I had a ton surprisingly most of the machines took them. Thanks for saving me 30+ bux that week.
Hey! I have found tons of foreign coins in my vending machines over the years. They always get rejected by the coin counter, so I do keep them. However, I just sold a bunch on eBay. But I do have a handful right now. I don’t collect anything specific though if I find an interesting coin, I usually keep it for myself.
Around the year 2005, I cashed in a huge hoard of quarters and wound up with a little over $8000. I had been saving quarters for 10 years. Moral: don't save pennies
